Petiton Against Resizing Costs



Like most Neopians, I was thrilled when the new gallery layouts were introduced!
I've worked for 6 years collecting my most prized possessions and over the years I'd lost many items
to mispricing, shifting price caps and various glitches. I was pleased to find this new system removed
the possibility for many of these oversights and problems. Having a place that would do nothing more
than display my prized possessions seemed perfect. And for the most part, it is! That's when it hit me!
There was what I see as the only oversight on behalf of the Neopets Team that needs to be addressed
before we can truly call the invention of the new Gallery system a complete success ... The cost to re-size!

It is completely understandable that a relative amount be charged to re-size our shops as these are for most
Neopians, a sole source of income. It is rare to find anyone who doesn't own a shop and who doesn't rely on
it for at least some of their income even if they depend on other means for most of their financial gain.
A gallery however leaves little to the imagination. Since there is no pricing and as a result no (direct)
purchasing involved it must be assumed for the most part that people are using their galleries as they
were intended - as a safe means for which to display those items we don't wish to sell to the public.
They are not (& cannot be) used DIRECTLY for personal financial gain!


An Open Letter to The Neopets Team

We the undersigned have come together with the sole purpose of bringing
to your attention the need to greatly reduce the cost of resizing our galleries.
Since our galleries are by their very nature used for display purposes only
and therefore cannot be used in the same way as a shop for financial gain, it seems an
oversight that we be charged the same amount (as our shops) in order to re-size them.
We hope that you will take this into serious consideration.

Gallery - Petition Against Resizing Costs

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***

Regarding this petition and those who've shot me down on the boards:
I've been told I would be warned once if lucky then frozen, that petitions
are regarded as spam and are against the rules on neopets and that petitions
are NEVER considered or taken seriously by staff.
I took the time to check the rules (again) as I had done before starting
this petition and could find nothing to uphold those statements. As far
as TNT ignoring them I can only be reminded of the hard work and dedication
that brought about the (honorary mention) book awards (to name one),
so someone must be listening! ;)
Just to be sure however, I have written to specific team members as well
as a issuing a letter to all TNT staff explaining what I am doing here & why.
I have requested any information regarding petitions on Neopets and ask
that if anything has been done wrong or out of line, that someone contact me asap.
I will keep you all informed.

It has been well over a month since I sent the letters -
I'd say no news is good news in this case as it is about petitions
as a whole - not about the specific issue at hand
for more on the issue of Gallery re-sizing read below





I've already sent in requests for a price reduction and plan to
send in the open letter along with the signatures once we hit 150 names.
After that I will send it in each time we reach 100 more names ...
and I will continue to send them in till I receive acknowledgement from TNT!
I'll keep you all posted ;)

PS - please feel free to use the "open letter.." in whole (with ref
to the petition) or in part (remove and or add to it as you see fit)
to send your own comments in to the Neopets Team ...
If we work together we CAN change things :)
