Hello guest! Welcome to Achromatic, a directory for the unconverted grey pets of Neopia. Grey pets are pretty awesome already, but I wanted to give recognition to all the old greys out there, the ones that retained their old artwork when Neopets changed in 2007.

FAQ

What are unconverted pets?
In April of 2007, neopets underwent a major change. One new feature was the ability to customize, or dress up, your pets, so the pet images were revamped to keep all poses the same. Most pets were automatically converted but a few had the option to keep the old image. These are the unconverted pets.

Were all grey pets given the option to convert?
Yes. All old grey pets were not automatically converted. Their owners were given the choice to convert or keep them the same.

How do I know if my pet is unconverted?
Go to your Quick Ref and select your pet. If you see "So-and-so must be converted in order to be fully customisable. Click here to learn more." then your pet is unconverted.

How do I get a grey pet?
You can use a Grey Paint Brush, which you can buy from another user at the Trading Post, or get lucky and get one in a random event. The Fountain Faerie can also paint your pet grey if you complete one of her quests.

Please note that if you paint your pet grey now they will not be unconverted.

What can convert my UC pet?
Repainting them, changing their species, or converting them yourself.

Can I add my random unconverted pet/my converted grey pet?
No. Achromatic is a directory listing only unconverted grey pets and nothing else. If you have a UC pet that is not grey, or a converted grey pet, they cannot be added. Sorry =(

Can I add other people's pets?
Please don't :/ I don't want to get in trouble for adding pets against the will of the owners.

If I plan on trading/adopting out my pet can I still add them?
Yes. As long as you own the pet when you request them to be added, I will list them here. If they have a new owner they will stay listed unless the owner wants them removed (it would be wise to tell them about this listing just in case).

Do you have an unconverted grey pet that you would like to add to Achromatic? If so, send me a neomail with the name and species of your pet(s). If you want your pet listed under a nickname, please say so.

Achromatic is a directory for unconverted grey pets only. If you have a grey pet that is converted then they cannot be added. There are many general grey pet directories they can be listed in, however =)

If you convert/repaint/change your pet please neomail me so that I can remove them from the directory. Every once in a while I'll go through the list and clear out any pets that shouldn't be here, but that would make it much easier for me.
