What is reselling? What is a reseller? Reselling is buying discounted items and selling them for more to make a profit. Resellers are people that do this, and reselling is a hobby for most of them. Most of the reselling go on the trading/auctions neoboards. Some happens on the battledome boards too.
Resellers might use "ETS" and "HTS" a lot. What do they mean? ETS means easy to sell, and HTS means hard to sell. You might wonder why this matters, HTS are often sold extremely discounted, and ETS can be sold slightly discounted, or even at it's regular price.
You may have noticed that some of the items listed above can be very expensive, like paintbrushes. Most items that are resold are UBs. What's a UB? A UB is an unbuyable, or an item that costs more than 100,000 neopoints. You might wonder why over 100,000 neopoints. That's because resellers want to make a lot, and they won't make much by reselling things worth 300 neopoints.
Resellers might use "K" and "Mil". K stands for thousand, so 20k would be 20,000 neopoints. 3 mil would be 3 million.
Let's say you decide to become a reseller, you go to the trading/auctions board, and people are using all these words that you don't know. Here are some definitions:
The first thing you do is make a board. The best topic for a board if you're buying is "Buying with -insert amount of neopoints-" So then somebody selling an item worth way more than you have will see you don't have enough for their item and won't post. I think 300k is the least amount of neopoints a reseller should have. People have resold with less, but it is difficult.
So, some people come to your board, and they post in the format you don't know. What is it? It looks like this, and this is what it means:
Anyway, you decide to offer on somebody's item. Be careful when offering on HTS items, they might deflate. Somebody might have this item on the trading post for 800k, and then somebody else puts on in for 600k. Then another person will put on in for 300k. So that item will now be worth 300k, and used to be 800k. So it deflated 500k. That happens sometimes, and you can lose neopoints if you were reselling that item. Also watch out for unpriced items, you might overpay.
So, back to the reselling. The person says they'll accept you're offer. HOORAY! Now you will resell the item. Remember you xan buy more than one item at a time, and be reselling more than 2 items.
Now you find somebody buying on the boards. You go to their board and post the item your selling in the format. You wait for them to read your post, and let's say they post "NTY". Don't get upset, just find another buying board and keep reselling! You search and find another board, and then post again. The person offers on your item. If they offered to low, post NTY. The point of reselling is to make neopoints. If it's a price you can accept, set up a trade an tell them to offer. If it's a little too low, go to some other boards, post, and see if anyone can beat the offer.
So, you accept the offer, and WOOHOO! You resold something! Now you can keep reselling and making neopoints this way!
----
Other things: Always check the price on the trading post before buying. The person might not have seen the lowest price on the trading post for their item. Also check the shop wizard. There's always a chance that the item is buyable. Don't get scammed! The shop wizard is very helpful.
