Roleplay

The Nerd, The Friend, and The Prom King

This is just a little roleplay sample between me (red) and Nat (Normal).

NOOOOOO"

The class glanced to the back of the room. This halloween bori had just screamed at the top of his lungs. The groups for a History project have just been read out, and he is working with his best friend, and his worst enemy.

Hey, Thom... It can't be that bad...?" Faharis said to this bori. The classmates slowly looked back to the teacher as the two talked, "I'll be the messenger between you two. You tell me what you want to say to-"

Which will be nothing. I want nothing to do with him!" Thomethy cut off. He crossed his arms and glared around the room through his skull mask. His ears were down, in an angry position. He swished his tail back in forth, impatient for what was to be. The project was just assigned, but he wanted it finished.

Faharis shook his head. He knew Thom to be a difficult and stubborn person; but he still hung out with him. He was kinda Thom's only friend. He sighed as he looked at Thom's impatient act.

This was going to be a difficult project.

Cam, a pretty yellow gelert, stepped back from her freind, "Hey, what the heck was that, Quan?"

The zafara, Quan, ignored this. "It doesn't matter, anyway. Now anyway-"

You're skippping History again."

Quan glared at her, then stepped away. "Yes. But it doesn't matter, anyway. I talked to the teacher and he told me I'm partners with that loser Thom and Faharis."

Cam picked up her bag that she had carelessly thrown on the tiled floor and swung it over her shoulder.

Thom's gonna be a pain, but at least you don't have two of him, right? Now get back to history, dingbat. You said you had study hall."

She walked off then.

Quan shrugged and picked up his books, then casually headed towards his history class.

As he entered, he did a quick and friendly salute to the teacher, who responded with a slight wave and a smile.

You know your partners, right?"

Quan nodded, and headed to the back of the room, mumbling, "Tch... I know."

Thom glanced up when he heard the door open, then hit his head against the desk. Quan had decided to show up. He glanced up again, glaring through red eyes.

Fah looked over at Quan, and did a small wave to him. He got up and grabbed an extra chair from what was Quan's desk, and placed it in the row between himself and Thom.

So, who shall we work on? Adam Smith, Charles Darwin, or David Hume?"

I'd like to work on Darwin, but I think his majesty doesn't want to hear my opinion." Thom grumbled and looked away. Fah sighed. He was right. This was going to be a long project.

Quan scoffed. "Nobody cares about the opinion of somebody who thinks a good time is gaining a level in pokemon."

Though he agreed, Darwin would be interesting to study. He might as well try to get along with Thom, to spare Fah.

But these thoughts came after he continued with, "I think we should work on Smith.... that's why I think."

Thom twitched. It irked him when ever someone made fun of what he enjoys. And Fah knew this, he turned to Quan, "I wouldn't do that again..." He whispered.

But it was too late, Thom had already gotten out of his chair, and stood in front of Quan, "For your information, there is a lot more to pokemon that you think. Getting one level is not a good time, defeating a gym battle is a good time, getting a new record is a good time, catching a rare or legendary pokemon is a good time, c-"

Fah placed his hand over Thom's mouth. "Sorry..." he said as he shot a glare at Thom. Thom lowered his ears and sat back down in his seat. Grumbling, he turned away again.

Fah whipped his hand off on his pants and sat back down in his seat, "I think Darwin would be a more interesting person than Smith, and Gwerp, Krent and Warrie just took Smith" he said, pointing to to board.

Quan stood up and leaned over to Thom, getting Face-to-face.

Then we'll do /darwin/ for cripes sake, gym leader."

He was close to pummleing the geek. There was nothing he wanted more than the punch him until he turned into a normal person. Who still played kid games? Thom, that's who.

Fah was not worried. He was going to have to be a referee. He looked over at Quan, then at Thom, "If we're all going to survive this, I suggest you two don't get on each others nerves."

His presence annoys me!"

Shut up Thom, you're not helping. If you guys don't stop, all three of us are going to fail this project and go to summer school. And not have time to pick up ladies-" he looked at Quan, "or play video games," he looked at Thom, "I'm going to write on the board that we're doing Darwin, you two better not get each other annoyed any more that you are." Fah got up, and walked up to the board to write "Darwin".

Thom put his head in his arms and looked over at Quan. He was the exact opposite of himself. Popular, nerdy. Tall, short. Good with girls, good with games.

Quan played around with a mechanical pencil.

click-click-click.

Poor Fah. He had to spend all his time with Thom because he couldn't seam to make friends with anybody. Not even the other nerds. What was with that? Cam really seamed to think pokemon were cute. She would never play the game though, or be interested in the likes of Thom. Thom. Even the thought of his name bugged Quan.

He snorted.

click-click-click

Fah finished writing on the board, and returned to his seat. He glanced at the two. Seems they didn't get into any sort of fight, which is good. He looked over at the clock, only five minutes left in class. Both Thom and himself had study hall next, so basically nap time. He needed a nap after this class.

Powerpoint or board?"

Powerpoint," Thom said, dully and almost like he didn't care. Five minutes, five minutes, four minutes, four minutes... ~we got four minutes to save the world~, four minutes... He kept staring at the clock. He could get back to his games. He could get out of this class, and away from Quan.

Quan, "Board."

Four minutes left. Cam had a double study perioud, he could probably visit her before his next class.

I bet she's still pissy with me," he said outloud without thinking

Fah sighed, again he had to break the tie. He was about to say board when Quan spoke up again.

Who's annoyed with you?" He asked, half curious, half to keep the conversation away from the tie breaker.

Thom snorted. Someone was annoyed with Quan, and it was a girl? This could get interesting. He still looked away, but his ears were focused on the conversation.

Quan turned to Fah, alarmed. "Huh!? Oh. Yeah. uh... Cam's just a little... er.. well she's not too annoyed. It'll blow over. I just don't wanna hear her complain and moan"

Ah. Girl trouble," he commented, again he was about to suggest board, when the bell rang, ending third period. Fah packed up his things and lifted his bag onto one shoulder.

Thom jumped up when the bell rang, "YES." He pushed his things off his desk into his bag and took out his DS. He turned it on as he walked out of the classroom, heading towards the common area.

Fah sighed, "Hopefully the next class will be more productive than this one..." he walked out of the classroom, following Thom.

Quan glared at Thom. Why'd he have to agree with him so much today? He was glad as anything he only had to stay in that period for 15 minutes. He grabbed his books and headed to visit Cam before Biology.

Thom walked in the common area, head in the game. He walked over to an nearly empty couch, dumped his bag on the side, and sat down, still in the game.

Fah entered the area soon after, and waved to a few people. They waved back as he walked to the couch Thom was. There was no room on the couch for him, so he dumped his bag and sat on the floor in front of Thom. He reached into his bag for his notebook, he still had to finish the rough draft for his writing class, which he had after this period. He began scribbling down thoughts on to the paper, ignoring most of what was going on around him.

Cam noticed Fah enter, and she walked over to him, dropping her back on the floor and sitting next to him. "You, Quan, and Thom, eh? How's that working out?"

She took little notice of Thom.

Fah glanced up from his work. He smiled at Cam, "Well the usual, bickering, refereeing, insulting of pokemon..." He laughed, it all sounded so silly, "I really don't know why they argue so much. They really just don't like each other." He smiled, somewhat silly like.

Story

How the friend, became who he is

Thirteen years eh? Has it really been that long? Makes sense though. Thirteen years ago was Kindergarten.

Personally, I loved Kindergarten. You didn't have to do any work at all. You got to finger paint with pudding, play on a playground everyday, color, stack blocks, and so many other fun and simple tasks, if you could call 'em that.

I made friends rather fast. I never learned why, but after the first day, nearly everyone in my class knew my name, and I knew theirs. I guess I had a knack for remembering names, because the next day, I still knew all their names, while they forgot everyones but their own.

I never did the same thing twice in a day. And I never did anything with the same person. We learned sharing on the second day, and after that, I was shared by everyone. I didn't mind, I got to try everything. Though... I never sat at the same table everyday. The people, the table, the place was always different. The only thing that wasn't, was what I ate. Macaroni and Cheese with ketchup, and then grape juice and a chocolate chip cookie. My snack was usually two grape juice boxes. What I loved about grape juice was that I could drink it, with out it staining anything, so I had it a lot.

Nothing really eventful happened until the day after halloween. It was snack time, and I noticed my teacher talking to one of the kids. It was one I had never talked to before. He stayed to the back a lot, and was always playing his game. It seemed he didn't have a snack. I had an extra juice box, and I know he didn't want the dreaded carrots and water snack. So after the teacher left, I walked up to him and offered my extra juice box. I told him that I had more than I could eat, and he could have my juice. He seemed shocked that someone was talking to him. He asked me for my name, so I complied.

"I'm Faharis, but you can call me Fah, what's your name?" Maybe I asked him too much. It was a lot for a kindergardener to take in.

"Th-thomethy... or Thom" He seemed so shy. Like no one had talked to him before. I guess he has no friends too. He always sits by himself, playing his game. I never see anyone talk to him. I smiled at him to show I was his friend now, he smiled back. He seemed so... happy. I noticed the people I was sitting with gesture for me to head back. So I smiled once again at Thom.

"Well Thom, I'll talk to you later." I said and walked back to my table. Right when I sat down, they all started asking my about him. Was he weird? Was his annoying? Did he infect you with a disease? I laughed at them and told them that he was just really shy. I turned to him and smiled. He looked surprised and looked away. I laughed, I knew from that reaction that I was his friend. Which is good, because he's my friend too.

BEEP. PING. NOOOO. Dude... You didn't die on the first level.... I-I did.

The bori whimpered. His friend shook his head. He had just lost the first level in his latest game for Wii. Great! Someone has witnessed my pathetic example! He said looking at you. His friend laughed at him, the bori shot a death glare.

What else could go wrong today...

APPEARANCE

Reference or largeish image
Thom is... to put it bluntly, simple. He doesn't have any wings, or bows, or extravagant outfits, random stuff in his hair, or complicated markings. He is based off the Halloween Bori, because it is one of the best colors that TNT has created since the convert (probably the best). He wears the skull on his head whenever he is anthro or quad. When he is human or zoo-morph, he loses it... Because it just looks silly. His hair is unkept and messy, similar to the fur tuff on his tail. He is a base color of dark grey, with... it's almost a dark bone color splatter markings on his hands, feet, and back/butt area. He also has three bone markings on his back.
When he's anthro, he has no set clothing. He usually wears some sort of gaming t-shirt and jeans. When he does wear shoes, they're usually sneakers. Thom is chubby, and is not athletic.

PERSONALITY

Thom is not very social. At all. He hates going out in public because he gets strange stares. Also it stutters talking to people who are not Faharis. But this of course is only offline, online he is a social bunny. He is the mod of several forums, has many online highscores on several different games; and if someone takes the top stop, he plays the game until he beats that person by several points. Thom lives for his games, if there is a power outage, or his gaming system crashes, he goes into a melt down. At school, he attempts to skip out on anything that involves exercise (several cases of "fish poisoning").
Faharis is the only friend Thom has, and he treasures the friendship, even if he doesn't show it. If Fah goes off on a vacation, Thom becomes anxious for Fah's return. It's rather sweet.

Story

How the nerd, became who he is

It's been thirteen years since that day. A long, yet short at the same time fifteen years. It was a kindergarten class. Three weeks in, so everyone knew who everyone was.

Well except me. I didn't know anyone. Not that I cared, they didn't know me. I didn't want to know them. I was fine by myself. Playing by myself. Doing everything by myself. Everyday I would take off my coat, put it on my hook (number 23, the very last one). Then I would take my shoes off, and put them in my cubbie. After we would all sit down on the spotted carpet. I would sit on the red spot, on the very far corner of the carpet. For the first few days, my teacher would ask me to move up. I said no, and stayed where I was. She'd ask again, and again I refused. After two weeks she learned I wasn't going to move, and let it be. After attendance, I would go to the red chair on the second table and play my gameboy. At noon I would put away my gameboy and get my lunch; a peanut butter and strawberry sandwich with white grape juice and an oreo cookie. I'd be one of the first to finish, so I would play my gameboy until snack time. Another oreo cookie and white grape juice box. Again, I'd be the first to finish, so I would contiue to play my gameboy until the end of the day. My mom would pick me up at 3:12, and I would be waiting for her at the door.

It went on like this for a few weeks. Until three days after halloween. That day, I forgot my snack. Depressingly, this is a major problem in Kindergarten, because if you didn't bring your snack, you were offered carrots and water for a snack from the teacher.

So I had forgotten my snack, I had nothing to eat, I refused the carrots and water from my teacher. I wasn't going to eat that. I also was not allowed to play my gameboy until I ate something. So I sat there, waiting for 3:12 when my mom picked me up.

I would have sat there not doing anything, if a gelert hadn't offered his snack to me. He told me he had more than he could eat, and offered me his grape juice box. This was the first time a kid from my class had talked to me. And it wasn't anything mean. It was offering a snack. I took the juice and asked for his name.

I'm Faharis, but you can call me Fah, what's your name?" He was kind. He didn't seem like he had a bad bone in his body.

Th-thomethy... or Thom," I was so awkward. He had said all that in a smooth, kind tone. I stuttered and didn't say much. Yet he just smiled at me. I smiled back, but I knew it wasn't as real as his.

Well Thom, I'll talk to you later." And with that, he went back to his table. I knew his friends had asked why he had come over to me. They were giving me strange looks, going back from him to me. I looked at him, he wasn't talking bad about me. I could tell by his face. He looked over at me and gave me that same real smile. My eyes widened and I looked away. He was my first... friend. I had only known him for two minutes, but I knew from his smile, I was his friend, so I have to say he was my friend.
