About Our Guild

  1. The Neopets site has a Guild FAQ (frequently asked questions). Click here to read this information.

  2. The Friendly Village guild was created, in part, to give Neopians a fun and safe place where they can become better acquainted with all that the Neopets site has to offer.

  3. It is the intention of our guild to create a place where fellow Neopians will be welcomed, and where friends can be found.

  4. Our guild encourages a friendly environment where members try to help others to help themselves.

  5. Our guild is a public guild, and anyone is welcome to join. You do not need an guild invitation to join our guild.

  6. If anyone needs help concerning Neopets, you can first try our guild's Message Board. If you need further help, you may NeoMail any Sub-Council member, any Elder member, or the Chief Elder.

  7. On our guild's Home Page, there are links to the Daily Neopet Clicks and to some Hard To Find Games. Anyone, whether or not you are a member, may use these links. There are some links to Free Stuff on the Daily Clicks page, including some Free Food for your pets.

  8. Our guild does not ask for any donations of any kind. There is no Guild Donation Shop, and there is no membership fee. Please do not donate any items and/or neopoints to any member of our guild, unless you have voluntarily decided to do so. Our guild's leader and other council members do not profit from being a member of our guild.

  9. Our guild does not lend items for avatars or for any other reason. If you wish to lend someone an item, please remember that you do so at your own risk. Our guild will not be responsible if you lend an item to someone, and then you do not get the item back.

  10. Unfortunately, our guild does not plan to have gifts for new members, "newbie" packs, 1NP auctions, birthday gifts, or giveaways. Administering these types of tasks for a large guild can become very difficult.

  11. You may advertise our guild by using the Guild NeoBoard.
    Please include our guild's URL address of http://www.neopets.com/guilds/guild.phtml?id=387909 in your first post.

  12. ATTENTION SPAMMERS : You are not welcome in our guild. All deliberate spamming will be reported, using message id numbers as proof whenever possible. All spamming messages will then be removed from our guild.

Options On Guild Home Page

  1. HOME : This option will display our guild's Home Page.

  2. MESSAGES : This option will let members display our guild's Message Board. Messages may be read and posted.

  3. CALENDAR : This option will let members see our guild's Event Calendar. Events may be posted, such as reminders, birthdays, meetings, good things, and bad things.

  4. MEMBERS : This option will display our guild's Members List, along with ranks, status, posts, and date joined. Members with a star beside their username are an adminstrator and have some administrative capabilities.

  5. INVITE : You may INVITE any non-member to join our guild. It is not currently possible for a VILLAGER to INVITE a non-member to join our guild, using the INVITE option on our guild's home page. However, another way to INVITE a non-member to join our guild is to send them a NeoMail, asking them to join. Please include our guild's URL address of http://www.neopets.com/guilds/guild.phtml?id=387909 in your NeoMail. Try not to send multiple invitations to the same person.

  6. LINK : This option will allow you to see the direct URL address of our guild's Home Page.

  7. JOIN GUILD : Non-members will see this option. Everyone is welcome to join our guild.

  8. LEAVE GUILD : Members will see this option. If a member does not wish to belong to our guild any more, then use this option to leave.
NOTE - If you DO NOT wish to receive any future invitations to join another guild, go to your Site Preferences and check
the box to Block Guild Invitations. Then scroll down and click on the Change Your Details button.

Message Board Guidelines

To help keep our guild's Message Board a safe place for all members, please observe the following guidelines.

  1. Before you use our guild's Message Board, please read the Neopets Chat Rules. All neopets rules apply to our guild.

  2. Please post all messages in English only.

  3. Please show patience with new guild members and with new accounts. If you want to remind anyone of a guild guideline or a neopets rule, please be nice about it. Thanks.

  4. Use common sense when posting a message. Remember that our guild's members are of all ages. Any message may be subject to removal if it is not consistent with the intent of any guideline.

  5. Please do not post any pointless or unnecessary messages. No messages that contain three or less words are to be allowed. No messages that contain only Smilies are to be allowed. Please try not to post three, or more, messages in a row. However, you may post more than two messages in a row if at least ten minutes has past since your last post.

  6. Please be patient for any replies to your post. If you do not get a timely response, you may try to NeoMail any Sub-Council member, any Elder member, or the Chief Elder.

  7. Messages that could give someone an unfair advantage in any Neopets competition/game are not allowed.
    (example : Do not post any Lenny Conundrum answers.)

  8. Answers for Neopets activities/games are allowed as long as no one will be able to gain a possible advantage over someone else. (examples : It is okay to post the Daily Puzzle answer because everyone should receive the same item and/or neopoints. It is also okay to post the Snowager times.)

  9. Messages about secret avatars, and how to acquire them, are allowed. Check out our guild's Avatar Guide.

  10. If you are on a quest, or otherwise looking for a specific item, asking for help is allowed.

  11. To check out or test your NeoHTML or NeoSignature fonts, colors, etc., please use the Avatars/NeoSignatures Board.
    There is a color chart at the bottom of the Daily Neopet Clicks page for your use.

  12. If you have tried to post a message, please wait until your browser has refreshed completely to minimize accidental multiple postings.

  13. No begging for items or neopoints is to be allowed. No asking for donations is to be allowed. No messages that state that you will accept donations is to be allowed. A good way to earn some neopoints is to play some games.

  14. No advertising your shop is to be allowed. If your shop prices are reasonable, people will find your shop through the Shop Wizard. No attempted advertising or selling of items is to be allowed, as the Trading Post or the Auction may be used for this purpose. You may advertise your shop on the Shop Ads Board.

  15. No intentional repetitive messages, or other types of spamming, will be tolerated. Depending on the circumstances, all messages of a user may be removed if they have posted three, or more, messages in a row. The user may then be banned from using our guild's Message Board. Repeat occurrences may result in being permanently blocked from our guild. All deliberate spamming will be reported.

  16. No messages that contain the username (in whole or in part) of a person who has been known to be blocked from our guild are to be allowed.

  17. No conversation with, or about, deliberate spammers is to be allowed, unless you have the guild rank of Elder.

  18. Good natured roleplaying (neopets appropriate hypothetical situations) is allowed in our guild. Role Play, simply defined, is acting. Please use a message subject that contains the word "roleplay" so members know not to take any roleplaying messages seriously.

  19. No messages concerning other guilds are to be allowed at this time. There are to be no messages that try to encourage any member to leave our guild. Other guilds are not to be advertised in any way.

  20. Messages that contain key combinations that may have unexpected results are not to be allowed. An example would be the combination of Alt+F4, which closes the current page.

  21. All messages that contain, or ask for, off-site e-mail addresses, or that ask about chatting software, or that ask about any social networking websites, will be removed. The user posting such a message may be banned from using our guild's message board.

  22. All messages that contain, or ask for, login words will be removed. Without exception, the user posting such a message will be permanently blocked from our guild and they will be reported.

  23. Messages that contain an off-site Url address are not allowed. As per Editorial 306, "... posting an offsite link ANYWHERE on the site is against the rules, regardless of what is actually contained on these web pages." If an address does not contain neopets.com, it's probably an off-site address. Please NeoMail an Elder or Sub Council member if you are not sure.

  24. Any member whose participation on our guild's message board is disruptive and/or who does not follow the above guidelines may have their messages removed, may be warned by neomail, and/or may be banned from using our guild's Message Board, depending on the nature of the offence. Repeated offences may result in being permanently blocked from our guild.

  25. If you have been banned from using our guild's Message Board, and somehow find a way to post a message during the duration of the ban, you will be permanently blocked from our guild.

  26. If you have been temporarily suspended from using our guild's message board for more than seven days, please neomail neo__rainbow to be allowed access to our guild's message board again.

Guild Poll

  1. Usually our guild has an active Poll. It can be found on our guild's home page.

  2. It is appreciated if every member places a vote, though this is a voluntary choice.

  3. A member can only vote once for each Poll. Every vote is confidential - no one knows who voted, or what they voted for.

  4. The final results of each Poll will be posted on our guild's Message Board.

  5. Past Poll results can be found at The Friendly Village Guild Poll Results, managed by Seanaf.

  6. If any member has an idea for a future Poll, please post it on the Message Board.

Guild Competitions

  1. Any member may host a competition through our guild's Message Board.

  2. Remember to keep any competition clean and fun.

  3. There shall be no competitions that state that neopoints or items will be given to the winner(s). Competitions, raffles, or any other promotions promising a prize and/or neopoints will not be allowed on our guild's Message Board.

Pet Adoption and Transfers

  1. The Neopets site has an Adopting and Disowning FAQ and a Neopian Pound FAQ (frequently asked questions).

  2. If you DO NOT wish to send or receive User-to-User Neopet Transfers, go to your Site Preferences and check the box to Block User-to-User Neopet Transfers. Then scroll down and click on the Change Your Details button.

  3. If you seem to be missing a pet, you may have unknowingly received a pet transfer request. To check this out, go to the The Neopian Pound and click on the middle door. If there are any unwanted pending transfers, you may REJECT the request and the pet should be returned back to you.

  4. If you have three or less pets, you may adopt a pet, or accept a pet transfer, at the The Neopian Pound. For pet transfers, use the middle door.

  5. You CAN NOT charge people for any pet adoption or for any pet transfer.

  6. ABANDONING PETS SUMMARY (pets that have not been transferred) :

    1. All wearables are removed from the pet and the items will be placed into your Closet, which includes Paint Brush clothes, neopoint wearables, and NC Mall wearables.

    2. Equipped battledome items are removed from the abandoned pet and placed into your Inventory.

    3. An attached petpet will stay attached to the abandoned pet. If you want to keep the petpet, please remove it before abandoning the pet.

    4. As soon as an abandoned pet is placed into the Pound, the pet will be available for ANYBODY to adopt.

    5. You may abandon a pet up to once per day.

    6. NOTE - Be careful not to abandon the wrong pet.

  7. ADOPTING PETS SUMMARY (pets that have not been transferred) :

    1. Adopted pets will not have any wearable items, and will not have any equipped battledome items.

    2. Adopted pets may have an attached petpet.

    3. NOTE - You must have three or less pets to be able to adopt another pet.

  8. PET TRANSFERS SUMMARY (pets that have not been abandoned or adopted) :

    1. Your account must be at least four months old to transfer pets.

    2. A transferred pet keeps its wearable Paint Brush clothes, neopoint wearables, and any attached petpet. You may want to remove any neopoint wearable items that a pet is wearing before transferring the pet. If you want to keep an attached petpet, please remove it before transferring the pet.

    3. A transferred pet will not keep its NC Mall wearables and will not keep its equipped battledome items.

    4. You may transfer a pet up to once per month.

    5. You may accept a transferred pet up to once per month.

    6. If a transferred pet is not accepted within three days, the pet will be returned to you.

    7. Until a pet transfer is completed, you will not be able to adopt or create any new pets.

    8. NOTE - Be careful to enter the CORRECT username of the person that you want to transfer your pet to.

  9. Anyone may start an adoption agency. Which means that anyone may take a pet out of the pound, nurse the pet back to health and then return the pet back to the pound. Before returning the pet back to the pound, some people may choose to use the Secret Lab on the pet to change the pet into a rare species and/or a rare color. When the pet is ready for adoption, you may advertise that pet's name on our guild's message board.

Rank Descriptions And Promotions

  1. All members are initially given the default rank of VILLAGER. This is the rank that you get when you join our guild.

  2. The rank of WARRIOR is primarily for members who like to fight in the Battledome. To qualify for WARRIOR, any one of the following should apply to you :

    • you have fought in at least 20 fights in the one Player Battledome.
    • or, you have won at least 10 fights in the one Player Battledome.

  3. The rank of GAME MASTER is given to members in recognition of their gaming skills. To qualify for GAME MASTER, any one of the following should apply to you :

    • you have at least 3 trophies and/or medals of any type. NOTE - The Lucky Space Faerie Charm, the Lutari Talisman, and the NC Mall Album do not count towards the trophy count.
    • or, you have played and recorded a score in at least 75 different games.

  4. The rank of MERCHANT is for members in recognition of their shop. To qualify for MERCHANT, any one of the following should apply to you :

    • you have a shop size of 20 or larger.

  5. Changes in rank are not done automatically. If you think that you qualify for the rank of WARRIOR, GAME MASTER, or MERCHANT, please use our guild's Members Page to contact a council member who can perform rank changes. Any changes between the ranks of WARRIOR, GAME MASTER, and MERCHANT is limited to one change per month.

  6. Rank names may be be temporarily changed during such times as Halloween, Christmas, etc.

Council Descriptions And Promotions

  1. The rank of ELDER is for members who have demonstrated leadership qualities. An ELDER may be given some administrative capabilities. The number of ELDER positions is limited by the Neopets site. To apply for a position of ELDER, click on an available Apply For Position link, under the Guild Council header, on our guild's home page. You should also be recommended by at least one existing Elder member to neo__rainbow.

    NOTE - If there is an Elder position being used by the username of 000_friendly_village, then our guild is looking for an Elder. If this is the case, then please send an application to neo__rainbow, stating why you would be the right person for this position.

  2. The rank of SUB COUNCIL is for members who wish to be active within our guild. As our guild's membership grows, the number of SUB COUNCIL positions will increase. If you think that you qualify for a SUB COUNCIL position, please send a NeoMail to neo__rainbow, stating why you would be the right person for this position. You should also be recommended by at least two existing Elder and/or Sub Council members to neo__rainbow.

    NOTE - Currently, the maximum number of Sub Council positions will be limited to 20.

  3. To qualify for a position of SUB COUNCIL, or for a position of ELDER, most of the following should apply to you :

    • you are able to use NeoMail.
    • you have posted at least 50 messages on the Message Board that have shown your willingness to help our guild's members.
    • you post at least one message every week on the Message Board.
    • you have been a guild member for at least 60 days.
    • you are generally on the Neopets site at least once per week.
    • you have a genuine interest in helping other members.
    • you are listed on at least one of our guild's Recognition Of Excellence lists.
    • a SUB COUNCIL applicant should be at least 14 years of age.
    • an ELDER applicant should be at least 18 years of age.

    Please do not apply for a council position if you do not meet most of the qualifications. All council applications that comply with the above will be seriously considered. Any vacant council positions can be applied for at any time.

  4. You may be removed from a council position if you do not continue to meet most of the qualifications.

Administrative Options On Guild Home Page

Only our guild's leader can assign (and remove) admin privileges to another member.
Members who have a beside their name in the members list have at least one administrative capability. A member can only see the administrative options that he/she has been assigned. The admin powers are organized as follows:

  1. GUILD LAYOUT Admin - The ability to change our guild's description, welcome message, guild logo and many other layout attributes such as our guild's colours and guild hierarchy. This is a very powerful position and will only be appointed to those that are trusted completely.

  2. GUILD MEMBERS Admin - The ability to change a member's rank and other member status values. This is also a very powerful position, as a person with this admin power can also suspend, delete and permanently block a user from our guild!

  3. GUILD COUNCIL Admin - The ability to monitor all of the applications sent in for guild council positions. This power allows the member to accept and reject any applications that have been submitted.

  4. GUILD BOARD Monitor - The ability to monitor our guild's message board. This admin power allows the user to delete messages from the board, as well as, utilize the admin features for the message boards (multiple deletes).

  5. GUILD CALENDAR Monitor - The ability to monitor our guild's calendar events. This admin power allows the user to delete any events from our guild's calendar.

  6. GUILD POLL Admin - The ability to create, change, or remove our guild's poll.

Guild Council Privileges And Duties

  1. Our guild's council is a list of a few trusted people who are given certain duties to maintain our guild.

  2. Every Elder and Sub Council member has a duty to help keep our guild a safe place for all members.

  3. All matters concerning our guild's security and integrity should be given a high priority.

  4. There can only be one Chief Elder. If there is ever a person sharing the position of Chief Elder, it is due to an error. If you have the Guild Members admin power, please suspend any member (except neo__rainbow) who has the rank of Chief Elder, and immediately neomail neo__rainbow of the situation.

  5. When asked for help, a council member should try to respond with an answer. If a council member has difficulty responding, then the matter should be referred to our guild's leader or to another council member.

  6. A council member may have certain permissions such as the ability to clear message boards, although this is up to our guild's leader to give them out.

  7. Any council member may recommend more than one member to any vacant council position. Also, any recommendation may be withdrawn after it has been given, for any reason.

  8. If you have been given the administration ability to remove posted messages :

    1. Any posted message may be removed if requested by the member who posted it.

    2. Copies of accidental multiple postings of any member may be removed. Please do not remove the original (bottom-most) post.

    3. Please do not remove any post that contains a neopets site link/address. All other posts that stretch the board should be removed.

    4. Prior to the removal of any other posted message, a NeoMail should be sent to the member outlining the reason for the deletion.

    5. Other Elder and Sub Council messages are not to be removed, unless you sincerely believe that the removal is in the best interest of our guild.

  9. If you have been given the administration ability to ban members from posting on our guild's message board, the length of the ban is up to your discretion but it is not to exceed seven days.

  10. If you have been given the GUILD POLL administration ability, prior to the removal of any guild poll :

    1. Post the final poll results on our guild's message board, remembering to remove any square brackets.

    2. To have the final poll results recorded on our guild's Poll Results page, please neomail Seanaf with a copy of the final results. In the event that Seanaf's neomail inbox is full, please neomail neo__rainbow with a copy of the final results.

  11. If possible, a council member should neomail neo__rainbow if they are planning to be away from neopets for any length of time (vacation, sickness, etc.)

  12. Unless other arrangements have been made with neo__rainbow, to remain on council, a member should try to post in our guild at least once per week.
