Step after step, only seemed to get you more lost as you pushed blindly through the shadows of the night. Vines and leaves blocked your pathway as you suddenly fell into an opening, where the moon shown down through rotten tree branches and faint clouds. You had stumbled upon an untouched dirt road, that ran from left to right, fading into a thick fog that hazed in from nowhere. The air was cold as your breath made a short cloud in front of your mouth. Pushing your self off the ground, you looked both ways down the deserted road, then to the forest ahead of you. It was completely dead, and not a soul in sight. Not the chirp of a cricket, nor the hoot of an owl could be heard, only the whistles of the wind brushing violently through the forest ahead of you. A jolt of uncertain fear came upon you as you looked deeply into the vast emptiness of the wood. Turning around, to try and find your way back through the more lush forest, you find it gone. Into thin air, the forest you had came to be in this place, had vanished without notice. "Was this just a dream? A nightmare where there was only a one way path?" you thought to yourself as you walked to a steep drop off where the forest once was. Over the edge, seemed to go for miles,as it blurred in with the haze, pouring of the cliffs edge where you stood. Taking in a deep breath of air you turn back to the rotted woods, and crossed the road. Time seemed so slow, every step was equivalent to your heart beat, every blink was the sound of a roaring drum, pounding out the song of death as you took your last step into the forest. Nothing happened. You stand in side the forest boundaries and sigh ,"Why am i being so stupid, its just a forest after all?" Trying to talk yourself into confidence you move on. Just like before, it began getting darker in darker, till it was pitch black. Aching legs, you know you can't stop here. Then in the shadows concealed by fog, short wisp's of a gray-blue fog seem to follow you. Pace speeding you come to a sudden halt when you here a whisper in the wind, "go back, please, go back..." ; 'its too late for that now' you think to your self, as you feel chills crawl up your spine like the legs of a spider. Heeding not the warning you move on, till a pair a emerald eye's appear out of no where. "Welcome guest ".... Your nerves froze, you couldn't move, the moment for his introduction was just to perfect, for yourself to handle as you stuttered ,"h-how did you know my name?" A deep chuckle escaped the jaws of the invisible creatures hidden in the shadows, as the woods seemed to fall down around you, where a mighty carnival rose, and a wolf-like creature came into veiw.
