Neopets Mobile - Glitch-related Information/References

Read below for information related to my issue, and stuff that may be of help to others as well.

LATEST INFO/UPDATES - MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT - SCREENIES - BUG REPORTING INFO


I am a Verizon Wireless customer using a Motorola E815 phone. I downloaded the Neopets Mobile program on May 8, 2007. (First day it was made available on Verizon.)

Egad! Neopets Mobile messed up our beloved account. Below are screenies we hope will help crack the case for seakquy, and for anyone else affected by the glitch as well!

NOTE: I haven't had the guts to log back into Mobile since the glitch I had, but if you do, take care to keep anything of value in a safe place (not in Inventory) before logging in, and be aware that while nothing may happen, you may have to prepare yourself for something going wrong. I've heard mixed reviews on people either having no issues, or having them multiple times. @_@

Unfortunately it isn't/wasn't possible to take screenies from my cellphone, so I can't show specifically what happened. We figure it has something to do with the new site layout and things not synching properly between the Neopets site and Neopets Mobile. :@ (

Update - 8.27.07 Apparently this Mobile glitch is still happening - I've been getting several Neomails and seen chat board discussions about this issue popping up again. D'oh! I wish I knew what to suggest outside of sending in bug reports, but at this point, this seems to be the only thing users can do. Keep sending them in until you get a response, that's the best suggestion I have! If you don't feel you're getting any answers, keep pestering...we're paying real money for a service that should work properly, right?

Also, while I can tell you I was finally able to get a response and partial resolution after a couple weeks of bug reporting (this was back in May), I wasn't able to recover absolutely everything I lost in the end. However, it's worth a try if you have large losses involved. If you've only lost a bit of NP and say, "junk items" (Tombola or Fishing items, for example), it might be best to suggest playing until you make up what you've lost, as in the time it could take to get anything returned, you may be able to earn more. (I think that would depend on the time you spend playing and the personal value of items lost, however, since it's still unfair to lose anything!)

Update: We've since been reading about this issue on a Premium-user chat board and learned that this glitch may be due to logging out using the "sync and quit" option, which seems to be buggy. If you are still using Mobile, DO NOT CHOOSE "SYNC AND QUIT", log out from the preferences menu instead. And make sure that you log out of Mobile before logging back onto the Web-based site. (I'd try it but don't want to risk further losses.) It also seems to be happening to most/all Verizon users, but isn't isolated to any one provider (the game apparently is still available on Verizon's downloads area).

What happened to me:

Basically what happened was upon logging onto the site after having logged out of Mobile, we found that all our on-hand NP and items were gone, as well as our NP in the Bank. The only NP/items we had left on-hand were those earned on Mobile (and from a junk trade we'd done with a friend). Even more strange, the Safety Deposit Box was 100% intact, as well as the pets in this account (and their equipped items). It did add a non-existent "active" pet in place of them, however. (As the screenshots show below.)

If this same glitch happened to you, don't forget to report it to TNT with any information you think might be useful (such as similar screenshots and account info). You may, however, NOT use my screenies to make your own report!

Edit on 5.11.07: We received a message from TNT that shows they are working on the issue (image posted below), so be patient, everyone! Breathe. Relax. *SIGH* (And thanks for your prompt attention, TNT!)
