Description: Shizen casts the Genjutsu with her eyes, making her opponent believe that she is invisible. However, even people who have not looked into her eyes still fall under the Genjutsu because of the strength of the jutsu.

Kaze Taifu (Wind Typhoon)

Description: Like Lee's Lotus attacks, Shizen's Kaze Taifu puts major strain on the body and should be used with caution. Before this jutsu is used, Shizen usually uses the Wasurerumiru no Jutsu before she engages in this attack so her opponent doesn't know what she'll do. After this, Shizen kicks her opponent high into the air and then engages in 80 or so fast kicks that hit certain pressure points in the body. The technique is performed so fast that the victim cannot breath. However, one false kick could seriously injure Shizen. After she uses this jutsu, Shizen's legs are visibly bleeding. Although in Part 2, Shizen doesn't seem to use this technique anymore.

Itaishi (Death Poem)
Type: Genjutsu

Description: Cast by the eyes, this Genjutsu paralyzes the victim where they stand, rendering them defenseless. In this technique an eerie voice is reading the victim a poem depicting their death. In Part 2, Shizen improved upon this technique – in addition to paralysis, Itaishi now crushes the victims lungs and strangles their necks.

Damasu Yume no Jutsu (Deceiving Dream Technique)
Type: Genjutsu
Rank: A-rank
Description: Damasu Yume no Jutsu is a fairly challenging technique that is executed in 3 steps: 1. Ayashi (Threatening): The opponent is placed in a dream-like state and cannot move. During this phase, Shizen changes into someone that her opponent holds dear to them and advances towards them. 2. Hishi de (Frantically): In this phase, Shizen 'grows' long claws and slashes and rips her opponent, still in the body of the loved one. 3. Kopidoku (Scathingly): The last and final stage, (this stage was the hardest for Shizen to learn, she finally got it during her battle with Natsu) Shizen's hand glows an eerie purple and stabs the victim with a swift fatal blow.

Description: Shizen summons a flock of crows, usually to devour a corpse.

Description: Shizen uses the 'Tiger' seal to perform a fire technique to burn the corpse after it's flesh has been eaten.

Kurai Ame no Jutsu (Dark Rain Technique)

Description: Shizen casts the technique by the eyes, causing her opponent to feel as if they were melting away in acid rain.

Kurai Yume no Jutsu (Dark Dream Technique)

Description: Shizen uses this technique to knock out a person. While the person is unconscious, they are being plagued by 100s of disturbing nightmares.

Kekkei Genkai: Jigokugan (Hell Eyes) – the Jigokugan is a Dojutsu (Eye Technique) and naturally occurs in members of the Hotamae clan. (Shizen is now the soul carrier of this Kekkei Genkai.) This Kekkei Genkai resulted when the a female of the Kurama clan (whose Kekkei Genkai makes the user have an incredible talent for Genjutsu) and a male from the Uchiha clan (whose Kekkei Genkai is the famous Sharingan, a Dojutsu) came together and had children with an entirely new bloodline trait.
The Jigokugan has gotten its name because of its scary appearance – dark, deep green eyes and snake-like pupils. It has been stated that as a Jigokugan progresses, its appearance gets eerier.
The Jigokugan is a ekkei Genkai that makes the user adept in Genjutsu and specializes in Genjutsu cast by the eyes. Their techniques range widely and are highly effective. Seasoned Jigokugan users, (such as Shizen) have discovered the rare ability of using the Jigokugan to cancel out other Genjutsu technique – if it is turned out, lesser (most B-ranks and under) have no effect on the user.

Personality: Shizen is a mostly kind and caring shinobi who cares about the lives of her friends and comrades. However, Shizen is annoyed easily and is prone to yelling or scolding. Shizen, in the battlefield, seems to undergo a change – she is cold and almost ruthless to her opponents (similar to Temari, but not to the same extent) and has a certain 'murderous intent' look to her eyes all of the time.
Shizen has had a troubled past (much like many characters in Naruto), her clan was massacred and Shizen watched her sister, Seka, killed before her. Shizen, feeling guilty that she couldn't do anything because she was stabbed by a kunai and couldn't move, promised herself that she would not let that happen to anyone again. Other than that, Shizen is a determined and talented ninja who wants to be as good as, if not better, than her oi-nin teacher, Hotaru.
She also shares many things in common with her main enemy Natsu. Both of them grew up alone, are good a Genjutsu, and have a similar fear: being a nobody, being worthless.
Apparel: PART ONE: In the first part of Naruto, Shizen wore a Chinese-esque style black t-shirt with a high collar and grey rectangular buttons with a matching skirt. She wore a fishnet top underneath that and had long fingerless gloves that went up to her elbows. She wore blue ninja sandals and her blue hitai-ate (forehead-protector) around her waist. Around her legs were bandages (from the her use of the Kaze Taifu.)
PART TWO: In the second part of Naruto, Shizen goes under a semi-drastic change – she still has the same style shirt, but the buttons are sharper and red and the shirt and skirt are significantly smaller so much that her stomach is slightly visible. The skirt also has a 'V' opening on her left thigh. She wears a long fishnet top and matching leggings, and the bandages around her legs are more around her calves. She has small jagged fringed red fingerless gloves, a red hitai-ate around her neck, and long black sandals that rest around mid-shin.
Physical Appearance: Shizen (like the rest of the Hotamae clan) has long dark purple hair and deep ocean blue eyes and (like Temari and Ino) are drawn with no pupils. During Part 2, her hair gets longer and her blue eyes have a light teal tint to them.
Sounds like: Somewhat cold, but kind and caring – think Temari, except more feminine and mysterious

Description: Natsu uses this technique by casting the Genjutsu by the eyes. Natsu now takes the form of a person who had caused the victim great suffering and loss. This technique is designed more for people who have gone through vast amounts of suffering: Shizen, Gaara, Naruto, Sasuke, etc. and works more on them as opposed to people that have gone through minimal suffering: Sakura, Ino, Kiba, Shino, etc. It is hard to break out of unless the person uses pure will power or has feelings of intense hate.

Kekkei Genkai: Although Natsu has no official Kekkei Genkai, she is part of the Kisetsu clan, whose members are brilliantly adept at Genjutsu and label their techniques sakuhins or 'works of art'.

Personality: Natsu was viewed as a cruel and ruthless individual working for Orochimaru when she was first revealed in the story. She always wanted to please Orochimaru and savored killing opponents who used Genjutsu and were good at it. Although, in a side story, Natsu lived a lonely life: her parents died when she was very young and she had run away from her grandparents so she could experience 'real' life. Plus, because of her 'scary' appearance, she frightened other children her age and was viewed as a monster. Then, when she finally made friends (Sha and Kutai), she lost them on one of their missions. There, nearly facing death herself, she was saved by Orochimaru and she has served by his side ever since.
Even though the two had different paths, Shizen and Natsu are very much the same: they don't want to let their team down, don't want to see their friends die before their very eyes, and are good at Genjutsu, plus they have similar fears 'being worthless, being a nobody.'
Apparel: GENIN: A fishnet top underneath a burgundy halter top with forest green cargo pants that puffed at the bottoms. She had grey tattered-fringe fingerless gloves. She wears dark purple sandals and hitai-ate which is around her neck. Her hair is in two major chunks over her shoulders and a red ribbon is braided in on the one on her right shoulder.
CHUUNIN: A long sleeveless magenta-red dress that slants up right leg with matching long sleeveless gloves that go to Natsu's shoulders. She is also wearing matching dark magenta-red sandals and her dark purple forehead-protector arund her neck. She has a dark red ribbon braided into both of her chunks of hair.
OROCHIMARU: (This outfit Natsu received from Sha on her birthday.) A blood red tube top with a tattered fringe long skirt that shows a lot of her stomach. She has tattered fringed sleeves that go up to her shoulders and cover her hands (they're also big so one could put things in them.) Also light purple boots with blood red buckles on them including her purple 'butt bow' curtsey from Orochimaru.
Physical Appearance: Natsu has haunting light orange eyes with teal triangles on her upper and lower eye lids. She also has long dark magenta hair which she styles in two large 'chunks' over her shoulders with red ribbons usually braided through. She has cold pale white-grey skin.

Hakuda: R'mekia is a fighting expert; she even is able to toy with Grimmjow by just using her feet! Although she doesn't use much literal 'hand-to-hand' combat, she is a wonder at using her legs as weapons. With her unique 'break-dancing' fighting style, (she uses a lot of flips, round kicks, twirling on her hands as she kicks everyone around her, etc.) she fend of more than her fair share of average shinigami.

Personality: R'mekia is a very layered character: on the outside she gives the impression of toughness and calmness, but on the inside she's really doubting, confused, indecisive, and sad. Growing up in the Rukongai, R'mekia wasn't born into a life of luxury; she had to fend for herself. She was alone, until she met Kensei. The two became shinigami and R'mekia was accepted into the 5th Division under Aizen's wing as 3rd seat. But, R'mekia wanted more. Then, she broke the limits and became a vaizard – a shinigami with hollow powers and because of this, was exiled out of the Soul Society. There she met her vaizard friends and had a life with them. But, years later, Ulquiorra and Grimmjow were out and about and recruited her… she accepted. But, R'mekia is constantly doubting her decision. Also, there's her relationship with Ulquiorra and Grimmjow – who to choose? She has no idea! R'mekia just is indecisive by nature, she doesn't know why, but she hates it.

VAIZARD: A long fishnet top under a long turquoise dress with rectangular magenta buttons. R'mekia wore matching striped teal and purple socks with matching long fingerless gloves that went up her shoulders and black flats.
