On the 27th day of Swimming, Y7 (or 27th July 2005 for those using that other calendar), strange happenings began to occur in Neopia. Kougras and Wockys went through startling transformations, their fur becoming mottled oranges and greens and blending into the background, becoming invisible to all but the most observant eyes.

Another strange occurrence on that day was the discovery of the Camouflage Paint Brush. Coincidence? I think not!

Since that day, more and more pets have become virtually invisible due to their new camouflaged markings:

If you look around Neopia, you may come to the conclusion that TNT got a little carried away with their new paintbrush. Normal, every-day items like books and furniture and even food have gone through this startling transformation and seemingly disappeared!

Avatars, backgrounds, and blogs have also adopted the now oh-so-trendy camouflage motif.

And an even stranger thing - the one item that had always been camouflage was no longer! The following appeared in The Neopian Times Issue: 228 | 17th day of Awakening (February), Y8

Jud71 about Erica095 . . . From the moment I first saw the camouflaged Kougra in the news I knew that I had found Erica's perfect colour. When I adopted her in the pound, she seemed to me a shy but intelligent creature, nimble and talented but unsure of herself. Since achieving her camouflaged status she has gained the confidence to show her true colours. She seems to attract the faeries and get the good stats from Coltzan and is shaping up to be a most adept battler. When she finally hits that battledome, watch out! I can't think of any other colour currently available that would suit her better (unless they bring out a ninja brush). She even made me build her a dojo in our neohome!

Mace_girl22377 about SSGMacey . . . I call him "Sarge". He is named for my husband. The kougra was created and painted camo while my husband was fighting in Iraq. He's in the US Army and the kougra is a little something I have of him no matter where he is. He is now home and thinks the kougra is pretty cool. I'm very proud of my husband and all he has done. Sarge's namesake has earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor while fighting in Tal Afar, Iraq.

Rexsunmar about Snowdrop . . . Even before she was painted camo, she could turn invisible. She likes to play pranks on her sister, Marbs, and she sometimes sneaks money to go shopping with her friends. I chose camouflage because I loved how the red and orange mixed together.

Loopdela356 about Izzy and Daz . . . Izzy was adopted from the Pound and has lived here with me ever since! Daz I adopted from another player shortly after Izzy came to live with me. I love her beautiful camo combo!

Hunnie86 about R0byn_B . . . R0byn_B was made in memory of my Christmas Kougra that was lost with my old account. The first time I saw the camouflaged Kougra in the news I just knew that was the color for R0byn.

I chose to paint Kiara Camouflage, because the minute I saw that the Camo Kougra was released, I knew it was the color for Kiara. D1Luo about Vonkou . . . Only four short hours after he was born as a green kougra, Vonkou was taken to the lab with his petpet and was zapped into camouflage! He won't be going to the lab again and risking his new coat!

aligirl21a about Ter . . . I adopted Ter from the pound, and morphed her into a poogle. The whole time, I had a camo paintbrush along side, because poogles are glamoflage! Not just camo, but a whole new level of style and sheek, and I love her, and her perfect color.

inuyashaperson39 about Jaaco . . . I found Jaaco in the pound and zapped her, and the third visit earned her the Camouflage color, along with the privilege of being the 2nd pet in Neopia to be painted Camouflage.

egyptian_spirt about Vanilla . . . Well, I didn't chose Camo myself, I adopted Vanilla. Although not decided by myself for her to be Camo, I knew she was perfect, so I applied and got her. 'Nuff said. Vanilla loves directories!

I'm an enthusiast of Zafaras, and when I saw the AWESOME Camouflage Zafara was being released, I knew I had to have one. ^^ I painted Tripleys because he's very fun-loving and sneaky, just like most Camouflage pets. And I must say, he loves his beautiful Camo coat just as much as I do!

blinkalink about Smmudge . . . I love Zafaras and I love the colour Camouflaged, so it was only natural that when the Camouflaged Zafara was released, that I wanted one. That the time though, Camouflaged Paintbrushes were quite expensive, so I decided to try my luck and use the Lab ray. On the 1st Zap, Smmudge turned Camouflaged! I was Thrilled. Camouflaged is the perfect colour for Smmudge because he is a quiet, reserved pet, that has an unclear and mysterious past.

Anime_Wolf66 about Windy . . . Windy is carefree and energetic. Camouflage looked the best on my Wocky. And she likes to hide.

Nosferatufeuertote about Floors . . . I always wanted a purple Poogle, so when I found the paintbrush in a random event, I knew that this was a sign; the perfectly purple pet with an edgy camo addition!
