Hello, guest, and welcome to my application for the beautiful faerie draik, Kuanlong. This page has been created in hope that Red Rose, or Rose as seems more abbreviated and fitting, will be so impressed and amused that she will find me a fitting new owner for her pretty miss (or well I hope it does, we can all dream, right?).
Now I have to be honest with you, I'm not very good at writing applications, but I am most certainly trying my very hardest to make this perfect! I mainly excel at art, so throughout her page will be lots of little images that I'm hoping will add the the effect of my writing. A pictures worth a thousand words, after all, isn't it?
Well I don't know what else to say, so let's make this half way between a pet page and an application and see how well it works :D Now, on to the app.!
Kuanlong's character will be that of a fairly young draik who is rather maternal, kind and caring yet if provoked by the sight or thought of egg theft is lethal and wild. She can be extremely playful if surrounded by loved ones, but is otherwise relatively reserved and mature around strangers. Her reasons for being so are all explained through her story (which can be simplified if you want).
Kuanlong will be roleplayed with one of my good friend, Crickets', draik characters until I have her character 100% down pact, and from there on she will be roleplayed with as many other draiks as I can find (which means I'll be applying to get in to draik roleplaying guilds! Whoo!). Obviously, she'll be forever getting drawn, which leads me on to the next part: The competitions!
I enjoy entering the Beauty Contest with Emrir, and Kuanlong will be no exception! I also plan on drawing some comics for the neopian times featuring her as the main character, and I will probably also submit her story! Pet spotlight will more than likely be aimed for, too, and I'm not just saying this to sound impressive; I honestly would do all this xD She really is the most amazing pet in the whole of neopia, and I would be absolutely unstoppable art and writing wise if I got her. Could you immagine the pet page she'll end up with? It'll be, well, epic!

In the beginning, they had no names – they were simply referred to by what they were. Five were in total: Ice, Island, Blue, Yellow and, most unusually Faerie. It was a hot summer when they were taken and put for sale by the strange purple meerca that owned the shop known as Merrifoods.
First to go was Ice, and in the following year, Island, Blue and Yellow had been sold. However the meerca was greedy, and no one had ever even heard of a faerie draik egg being real before, so his asking price was just too high for any honest neopian to afford.
The following Summer, the egg began to rot.
The meerca didn't know what to do, so he tried to sell it for next to nothing, but no one wanted a rotting egg. He had no choice but to hatch it, and so he climbed all the way up the cliffs of Meridel in the scorching heat, the egg getting darker and darker, until finally, he was there. The Draik's Nest was right before his eyes, so he hesitantly placed the egg in its soft bedding.
But nothing happened.
In his fury he swiftly swung around to climb the treacherous cliff face again back to his store, when he heard a sound.
Crack…
Slowly, he turned to the nest, and found himself face to face with a tiny draik. If you asked him what kind, he could not have told you. The hatchling was once faerie, however due to the eggs rotting, the consequence was that it's scales had turned from a sky blue to a deathly off black and her wing membranes had faded to a sickly grey blue.
The meerca gasped in disgust and began his decent with no intention of taking the draik with him, but it would not leave his side. She chirped and snapped her teeth hungrily, nipping at his heels as he walked away, hissing and showing the frills of her neck when he ignored her until he gave up and put her in his backpack.
And so the first faerie egg had hatched.
Freedom
The strange young draik grew up in the shop, often sitting out side and trying to lure money wielding customers inside, or cleaning the floors and shelves. Often, she saw nothing wrong with this as a living - other pets came in with owners and when asked who her owner was she'd say the purple meerca. Some days, however, she'd stare out the window, gazing at the clear blue sky and wishing that she could fly; for she'd never been taught.
Little to her knowledge, the meerca had been, from the day she'd hatched, trying to rid her of him. To him, she was a nuance that reduced customers - but no one wanted such a strange looking faerie. But one day, he took her to the draiks nest.
Beautiful faerie" he whispered to her - which confused her greatly, for usually she was called names such as 'foolish creature' and 'vile' in harsh tones - "Beautiful faerie, I gift you with this charm" he cooed, handing her a small, silver device; "And with it, your freedom. I hope you have a good life, and are blessed". With that, he turned and left. She sat on her haunches in confusion and overwhelming joy. She was free to fly the blue skies, but she'd lost all she'd known - but he'd seemed happy for her, so it must of been a good thing!
On that day, she met other draiks - both wild and pets. By the end of it, a wild draik had named her Kuanlong, after a character in an old clan tale. She stayed with this draik for a while, and he taught her how to fly and, even more, love another living creature. They were best friends, and then, they were in love.
Kuanlong came in to possession of an egg the following Summer and flew back to the draiks nest with her love (for they had been living in the mountains).
Thieves
When they got there, however, they were greeted by the purple meerca and his egg thieving friends. Her love tried to defend her and her egg, but there were too many theives with too many weapons. He fell in to an eternal sleep. Kuanlong was distraught, but before she knew it she was feeling tired; so, so tired.
The last thing she remembered was the purple meerca's twisted sneer as he stole her egg.
And then darkness.
By the time Kuanlong awoke, she was completely alone and had no idea where she was, for they had moved her in her temporary slumber. Barren wastelands surrounded her, backing on to dark and haunting woods; she wasn't anywhere familiar. In the following time she spent, she found out she'd been left on the border lands of the Haunted Woods and the Sahkmet Desert. She'd tried to get back to Meridell, but she had been advertised as a danger to public and anytime she tried to get in she was chased away.
She doesn't know what happened to her egg or her love.
Sometimes, she doesn't want to know.
Present
In Kuanlong's lonely ventures, she came across a teenager that called herself Whisper, who sat upon a friendly brown uni called Emrir. Something compelled her to stay with the pair - their honesty, compassion and empathy at her story. They promised to care for her, and to one day help her find out what happened. They became her friends, her family, her world.
She still flies freely, but knows she always has a place to stay where others who love her are, and so she still flies in search of others who may know the ending of her story. Countless faces, places, times - her adventures continue...

Call me Whisper. I'm a 17 year old child at heart that has been drawing since I could hold an implement of artistic doom. Writing is something I love, but I'm not as good as I used to be at it, unfortunately. Hmm, let's seperate this in to two sections c:
Online
I started playing neopets when I was but a young lass oh so many years ago. The first ever pet I ever wanted was a draik, however I somehow ended up developing a name for myself with the original uni role playing community. Yay children who people look up to :D
Then my head stopped being bloated and I lost a lot of apparently fake friends. I've had my original accounts iced because I had multiples, so I'm starting a new with this account.
I work as a pet site artist, but as the neopets rules apply, I can't actually say the name of the site :( I used to work for a few sites but it's hard enough keeping up with one!
I tend to draw anything and everything, and while Emrir's petpage is down at the moment (well, it's hosting this application), I'm afraid I can't show it to you. However, her page, when completed, will be spectacular - just like Kuanlong's will be :) I highly enjoy making petpages. It's a hobby that's stuck with me since I was a kid.

Well, this is my last year of high school, which is obscure. I've grown up around animals and the people they own, artists and a strange mix of others. I work at a veterinary hospital as a kennel hand (well, more as an unqualified vet nurse), and I train and breed working border collies. I also train other people's dogs to do all kinds of things, including, but not limited to, obedience, agility, show, and fun tricks (including for television commercials). I own a thoroughbred (who was a rather successful ex-racehorse) that I'm training to be a kids pony. At the moment he's learning about riding on beaches!
Well I don't really want to give out much other personal information on the net, but if there's any other specific questions you'd like to know about me, just ask! :)
Well hai there! This, is me. Well, a drawing of me at least...anyway, if you read above you'd know all about me, so I don't really know what to write here, since this is a petpage section where Kuanlong would tell you all about what she thinks of me!
Emrir: I think Whisp is the best :D She let's me stay up late eating carrots and watching the TV :B
Shh, don't let her know I'm actually a softy, Emrir :O I like to look tough and mature! Pfff.
This is Emrir, my happy-go-lucky little uni that I recently painted brown. She's a member of the guild herd Hooves of Grace, and she's role played whenever I can. Her character's of a friendly young quarter horse type uni mare with nothing overly special about her, which in itself sets her apart. After all, how many other unis out there aren't magical and super amazing? Kuanlong will consider her like a sister, and vice versa, which is why she'll sit in the Family section of her petpage.
Kuanlong will be role played with as many other draiks as possible! She'll be miss popular~
However, until then I can't fill out this section :(
