*NEOQUEST 2 GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS*
These are the three avvies you will get from NQ2. WEAKLING by letting a plains lupe defeat you. Defeat the DEVILPUSS in Chapter 5. The last one is for defeating a CYBUNNY which is also Chapter 5.
This guide is for all modes of play: NORMAL/BRONZE TROPHY (as is), EVIL/SILVER TROPHY (add 2 to 4) and INSANE/GOLD TROPHY (add 4 to 6). If the levels seem high for the other modes, it is because the monsters and bosses get stronger and have higher HP in the higher game play modes. You must be leveled up more to keep from dying and consuming all your potions.
This guide will be wrote out in a step by step manner as the one for NQ1. I will tell you how I spent my skill points, what levels I fought the bosses and when I bought weapons and armor upgrades. The skills are different so I will put a Chart at the bottom of the guide for each player and how I spent there skill points for each one. It will be less confusing than trying to tell you through out the guide how to spend them with more than one player. I have beaten this game at all 3 levels and have the gold trophy on my look up to prove it. If you have any questions or notice a mistake PLEASE NM me at the link below and I will take care of it. Please put NQ2 Guide in the subject line. I hope you enjoy this guide. :)
*Please Note that NM will go to my main account (mudridnsweetie) and not my side (mudridnsweetie33tc).
In NQ2 you will be playing different than in NQ1. You still battle monsters for EXP PTS (experience points), but you get gold to buy your weapons instead of looking for ingredients to make them. You start out with no skills points, as you did in NQ1, earn them as you go. You will also meet friends along the way to help you along on your journey. You move around the same way with both games as seen below for NQ2.
*MAPS*
I have gotten permission to link to some maps for you. Thank you so very much Oopsgotago. I really appreciate the help with the maps to get this guide complete. Please use the link below to get to the maps.
*MERIDELL*
You start out in Trestin with a boy names Rohane. *Don't forget to let one plains Lupe defeat you for the avvie* You go out to the left and stay 1 or 2 steps with in the town. Battle monsters to get EXP pts and healing potions. Do not use your healing potions go back to the town and get free rest from your mother to heal up. Stay close to the town until you get to about level 2 or 3 then stray out farther to about 3 or 4 steps.
Keep on battling monsters and when you get to level 4 or 5 start heading off towards the DARK CAVE. Make sure before heading off to the cave talk to Pongoras and buy some Flame Potions you will need them with the MINER FOREMAN, the Mine Boss. If you switch back and forth between HUNTING & NORMAL you will heal some as you walk. (yippee!!)
To get to the Dark Caves you head out of town to the left and go around the mountains to the Western Plain, then go up through the Golden Forest and enter the Dark Cave. When you get to the cave, keep on battling the monsters, they will start getting stronger and deal out more damage. As you go through the cave find the Abandoned Mine and battle the boss (Miner Foreman) there. Before meeting him you need to be at least level 5. I always played it safe and was at level 6 or 7. When you meet The Miner Foreman you need to have at least 5 Flame Potions, they help out with your battle with him quite a bit. There is nothing special about him. Now that you have beaten your first boss take the teleportation orb back to beginning of the cave and head off to the right. It is time for the next section of this area, White River Town.
You are in the Northern Marches now, so battle your way through here and the Ringing Hills heading at a downward slant until you get to the Town of White River. I try to hang around this area until I get to about level 10 or 11 that way I can stock up potions, buy a new weapon (Iron Short Sword) and have some extra gold. After you do that we head off through the Foothill Forest to the Underground Cave.
As you make your way through the underground cave keep on battling those monsters. You will eventually come to the Mysterious Tower. Go through the 4 Levels of the Tower. Keep battling monsters and leveling up, until you are ready to fight ZOMBOM. He is the boss of this area. He is hiding in level 4 at the bottom of the room. You will probably be at level 11 or 12 by now. **He is able to heal, 31 hp damage and Haste 18%.** Since you have defeated him, now lets take the teleportation orb back to the cave and go on back to White River Town. Stock up on this side of town since you will get a discount for defeating Zombom.
Go on through the town and cross the bridge. On the left side of the path there is a door, so go in it and talk to Mipsy. She is now in your party. If you have enough gold (which you should) you can check out the shop right across the path from there and stock up on new items.
Rohane and Mipsy will leave heading east, then start going south towards the Town of Lakeside. You will battle all the way here to get EXP PTS and GOLD (don't forget to switch between hunting & normal to help with healing). In Lakeside you must find Potraddo the Hermit, to get the secret word for the next portion of your journey. He is located above the town in the left side of the woods. Stock up on your potions (max them out if possible, since they are very expensive in the next area) head back up to the right side of town, then go north around the mountains and then back south again to the Lost City.
You are now entering the Lost City, talk to the guard. He is right there as you come in and tell him the secret word so he will let you enter. You must head to the bottom right room to battle your next Boss... The SAND GRUNDO. **He is able to hit you for 34 hp.**
After he is defeated use the teleportation orb behind him to get into the Tower on the Hill. Go through level 2 to get to level 1 and then exit the tower (while in the Tower try to battle enough to get a weapon upgrade for Rohane). Keep battling and leveling up, make your way upward to the Seaside Village. When you get here talk to Ulthare, but DO NOT buy anything yet. Leave his shop and go all the way down to the last building and go up beside it, then out to the right to the end of the dock. Talk to his brother Uthyni, now you can get a discount from the potion trader, so stock up again. This is the 2nd place I upgrade. I try to get Mipsy a stronger wand from here, if I have the gold to do so (if Rohane doesn't get a weapon from the monsters in the Tower I will get him one also, but I try to hunt around until I get one). I always make sure my potions are topped off before buying anything else like wands or armor. You can get these from battling monster and bosses.
I try to leave here and start heading south around level 14 because you are heading off to Meridel Castle to Battle the BIG BOSS of this world... RAMTOR I. **He is able to mesmerize, 43hp direct damage, 70hp heal and haste 18%.** You must battle him 2 times. The first time you just half his HP. After you defeat him the first time go talk to the guard at the entrance at the top and he gives you free rest. I try to level up here as much as possible or until I get tired of leveling up (free rest saves on gold). I try to be at level 19 or 20 (higher wouldn't hurt either) when I leave here because the first monster of Chapter 2 is a TOUGHIE.
Now you can head off towards the left towards Tailwall to defeat RAMTOR II. I always go straight for him, there is no reason to go battle anyone else and you will need your items for him. There is nosense in wasting them for lesser monsters. In this battle you have to defeat him. If you have leveled up, used free rest to save your potions and have your skills used as I have them described, you are ready. Now go defeat him so you can head on to the next world.
*TERROR MOUNTAINS*
You are now going to fight the LEXIMP, switch to NORMAL (you must defeat him to be able to understand what the Chia's are saying in Chia Oscurro). Mipsy can't hurt him use her group haste, Rohane is your main battling character with this monster. (I used Mipsy's haste here to speed Rohane up more, also so her turns wouldn't be wasted.) **He has the ability to Stun and deal out 30 hp damage.** It helps to have some Regeneration Potions on hand for this one. Try not to battle any other monsters until he is defeated. After you defeat him, head back to the town of Chia Oscurro and get free rest. Level up here until you get tired of battling or at least 21 or 22. Then head of to the right, then up and go through the Caves of Terror. When you get through the Caves, you come to Eastern Pass. Go straight to the Mountain Side Inn and get the 3rd party member Talinia.
Now head out and Battle some more and when you get to Level 22 it's time to head off to fight another Boss KOVLARS. **He has a Critical hit, slow you for 44% and Haste 28%.** He isn't that bad at all, just use Mipsy's haste and a occasional blasting potion. After defeating him, head on into town and find Jualie, she lives in the house right across from the iced over lake. You must find her little boy (Niacha) and you will get a discount on potions, armour and weapons. DO NOT buy anything until then, so you save some of your gold. You may want to get 3 or 4 resurrect potions here (just to be on the safe side), because you have a long way to go. After you get this done, head of town towards the south and go to the Adventurer's Encampment (talk to Allden for free rest here also). Level up here until at least level 29 or over halfway to it, since you are almost at the end of this Chapter and the next one is ROUGH.
***HINT*** If you think you may be running short of something sneak back to the town and stock up on it before moving on.
Now that you are leveled up, it is time to head off towards the Lost Caves. I didn't hunt all the way through the caves, I switched back and forth to battle and then heal while walking. There are 4 levels of the caves and the party will meet the Snowager along the way. I talked to him, but you do not have to, it is up to you. When you reach the end of level 4 of the caves you will be at the Peak of Terror Mountain. Make your way around the path for the boss battle with Scuzzy. **He is able to blast you for 36 hp as a group and slow 32%.** This battle isn't that bad either, but try to be at least at level 30 (higher wouldn't hurt here either) after you battle him because Chapter 3 is lots TOUGHER!!!!!!
*Lost Desert*
Sakhmet City is the first place you come to in this section and I found out that it is a waste of time to talk to any one here unless you just want too. You just head out to the shop tents and stock up on what you need.
Once you have stocked up, it is time to go to the Temple of the Sky. It is hard to find since it is out in the desert. Head to the right from above the tents a few steps, then keep heading right in a upward slant. You should be able to see it now.
Once you get there, enter and head to the second level of the Temple to Battle the Boss Silicast to get the Celestial Talisman. **He can do 44 hp group damage and 38% slow.** You need to be at least at level 32 or higher before taking him on. After you have the Talisman, use the teleportation orb, which takes you back to Sakhmet City.
Check your potions and stock up if you need too. If you don't need to, lets head off to the north to find the Ruined Temple. It is located between the mountains above the top of the river. Well lets enter it and make your way through all 4 of the levels so you can fight the Boss here, Pharoah Gebarn II. (I was at Level 33 when I took him out.) **He is able 52 group damage, 77 hp direct damage, 53% slow and heal 100 hp.** You must defeat him to get part of the Wind Medallion. After he is defeated take the teleportation orb back to Sakhmet City again, stock up if needed.
Now you will head back towards to Ruined Temple and around it, so you can get to your 4th party member Velm from Waset Village. This village is a bunch of sets of tents. Velm is in the lower right one. The weapons and potions are in the lower left one. (I didn't buy anything now since Velm can heal the party, but check your potions to make sure you have enough to battle with.) Now it is time to go rescue the missing girl.
Head out towards the north, then slowly start heading left. You will come to a point, then start heading south towards the Palace of Ancient Kings. When you get there, enter it and then head off to the top. Follow the water to the left all the way to the wall. Do not enter a doorway yet, go to the door way at the top left corner of the wall and enter it. There is a bed in the left bottom corner that has a secret tunnel under it. Go there and the through the basement to meet and defeat your next Boss. The Revenant of the Dunes and his two possessed skeletons. (Try to be at Level 34 or higher, which is easy to do with a full party and Velm's healing. Just stay in hunting mode and you should have no problem.) **This group can 44 hp group damage, 60 hp group heal, haste 38%, shockwave, mesmerize and slow 5%.** After they are defeated, you have to go talk to the missing girl Lifira, she is on the right and the teleportation orb is on the left, use it. (I know I went into more detail here, but I got stuck here for a few days because I couldn't find the secret tunnel. Also roam around some to make sure you are leveled up to at least 34 or 35.)
You must go back to the Village and talk to her. She is in the top right tent. She must give you the code to talk to Bukaru at the Oasis. If you don't talk to her to get the code, you can't get the next part of the Medallion, which you need to finish this Chapter. Before heading out again stock up on everything, since you get a discount for rescuing the girl.
Go back like you are going to the point, but instead of going down, keep going up. When you reach the topmost point start going to the top, but then after a few steps, head left again. You should be able to see the Oasis now. When you get there talk to Bukaru, so you can find out the location of the Medallion. If you don't, you can't finish this Chapter, because you must have all the Medallion pieces to do so. After talking to him find the Medallion piece then head off to the right around the edge of the mountains. You will come to the Ruined City of Akhten-Ka.
You have arrived at the Ruined City of Akhten-Ka and entered it. You will need to make your way to Coltzan's Ghost and get the Third piece of the Medallion. (I was at level 36 or 37 when I defeated him.) **He is able to haste 38% and heal 150 hp.** Don't forget the medallion piece. It is located in a barrel behind him. Now you can make your way out to go get the Gemstone in the middle of the rock formation Smiley face, right above the nose part. This should be the last piece of the Medallion, so check and make sure. (As before you can't go on with out it.) Now on to the last Boss of Chapter 3.
Head back towards Waset Village, but go to the left side of the River instead of the right towards Sakhmet City. You are now heading towards Zakharukh's Pyramid. Once there enter it and head off through the levels until you get to Level 3 and there is Anubits, the final Boss. (Try to be at Level 40 or close to it, since it will help in the Next Section.) **He can slow 62%, group shield +30, Haste 38% and Heal 150 hp.** Well Done, you have now completed Chapter 3 and Now on to Chapter 4.
*Haunted Woods*
You will start out in the town of Shadow Gulch, here I stock up on whatever I need. When you leave town head on around until you come to Count Von Roo's Place. Here you will battle Mueka, who had imprisoned Roo. **He is able to 44 hp group damage, slow 62% and Haste 38%.** (I would be at level 40 or up for him.) After you defeat him, as usual take the teleportation orb back outside the Castle and move on to the next area.
You have arrived in the Stenchful Swamp, so keep on moving around the map and battling on the way. It is time to head off through the Cave of Dark Things to battle the next boss... The Spider Grundo (My fave looking monster of all. The easiest level for him is 43 or 44). **He is able to 45 hp damage & 3 sec stun at one time, heal 150 hp and Damage Shield that deals out 22 hp damage.** After you defeat him you may leave the cave and head off to the next place.
You should now be at Balthazar's Grove, so lets off to find the Happy Fun Non-Haunted House. You must make your way through the house battling still, to get to the stairs that lead you to the backyard where the Brain Tree and Auger Faunt. Make sure you talk to the Brain Tree first so that you can get free rest here also. The Brain Tree will give you a word that will incite the 4 Fearies to battle. (I was at level 49 - 50 when I battled them, it made it less difficult. To me this was the hardest battle besides the Final Boss. I died a few times at earlier levels when trying to defeat them.) Each of the Faeries can do different things. I am going to list each of them separately. **The Dark Faerie can haste 38%, slow 62% and mesmerize. The Fire Faerie can do 56 hp group damage and 100 hp direct damage. The Water Faerie can heal 150 hp and group heal 78 hp. The Earth Faerie can do critical hits and stun.**
***HINT*** The easiest way to defeat these 4 is to mesmerize the water faerie and keep her mesmerized. If you can't keep her mesmerized, slow her. You can slow the Dark Faerie also since she can mesmerize and slow also. Then take out the others in the order they are shown left to right. You should have 20 corrode potions, divide them up between the 4 and use them. You can always go back to Auger Faunt and restock them.
After the fearies are defeated, the grove turns back to it's original horrid state. Go and restock, then you head off for the next place.
You will now come to Hubrid Nox's Castle (this is optional, I fought him on normal level only), head up through the castle and defeat him. (His minions were some of the worst ones for me, so be careful.) **He is able to do a critical hit, slow 62%, haste 38%, 150 hp heal and slow 5%.** Now it's time to move on. (You should be leveled up enough from the 4 Fearies, but make sure you are at 47 if you defeated the Fearies at a earlier level.)
You are now heading into the Goo Bog and the last Boss in this area. Keep moving on around the map until you come to, none other than the Esophagor. **He can do haste 38% and stun.** Once he is defeated you have completed this Chapter and time to move on to the last one in this Quest. (You should be leveled up enough, but make sure you at least Level 48 before going after him. Whew, you are almost finished now.)
*Faerieland*
You are now in the clouds heading southward and on your way to the Northern Watchtower. You will probably need to rest, here also stock up on your potions and anything else you need. It is time to head out through the south exit to the Fallen Angel. **She can mesmerize, stun, slow 5% and shockwave.** I would be at level 51 or above for her. After you defeat her head of to the Underclouds.
You are now in the Underclouds. Keep on heading down and around until you get to Cumulonimbus City. When you get here, make your way through the maze and get ready to battle the infamous Devilpuss. **He is able to deal out critical hits, shockwave, slow 5% and stun.** I would be at level 52, but it is not a hard battle. *Congratulations on getting your 2nd avvie.* When he is defeated, head out the exit behind him back to the Underclouds. The next stop is the Village of Cirrus and this is a major point in this section.
***HINT*** This is the last stop for rest, potions, weapons and armour. Don't worry about saving any gold right now. Make sure you are stocked to the max with all your potions because you can't buy any more until King Terask I is defeated. Have a full stock of damage, slow, haste and heal. If you aren't lucky enough to get any good weapons from the monsters you will have to make do with what you have, if you want something different get it now.
When you are finished in the Village of Cirrus, here comes the Bionic Cybunnies. *Congratulations on getting the 3rd and last avvie.* Now you will exit the Underclouds and head off to Faerie City.
You are now in Faerie City and it is slightly difficult here and confusing. You have to hunt down the Faerie Thief and battle her 3 times. (The 1st and 2nd time you battle her I would be at Level 54 and the 3rd time I would be at Level 55 or 56.) **She can do 64 hp group damage, stun, 100 hp direct damage, slow 62% and haste 38%.** When you get there, go straight and you will see a doorway on the right. Take that door and make your way to the set of stairs in the back room on the right. Take them and them make your way to the Faerie Thief's first hiding spot. All you have to do is take 1/3 of her hp and she will flee. Then go back toward the entrance. Go left from the entrance until you come to another doorway and enter it. Make your way back to the room full of barrels and take the stairs. You will come to another room, make your way through here to the stairs again. Use them to get to the second hiding place of the Faerie Thief. This time you must take 2/3 of her hp before she flees. Go back through the rooms towards the entrance one more time. When you come to the hall after leaving the room take it. Go down the hall, then you will come to a hall that goes up, take it. Keep going up until you come to the Faerie Thief for the last time at the Palace Gates. This time you must defeat her.
You are now in the Faerie Palace. This is a maze from the entrance to the stairs that take you to to level 2. You will have to look at the maps to get through here. There is no way to walk you through it without getting you lost. Once you get to Level 2, talk to Vitrini. Then head off to the right, go around the corner, down the hall, to the doorway on the right. Go through the room to the stairs. You are at Level 2 now, find the stairs to Level 3. When you get to Level 3 you have to battle a Pant Devil for the 1st half of the key. (You need to be at least Level 56 or 57 for him.) **He is able to to do 64 hp group damage, 100 hp direct damage, slow 62% and haste 38%.** Now go back to Vitrini and go the left side and do the same thing to battle the second Pant Devil. (You need to be at least Level 56 or 57 for him also.) **His abilities are the same as the first one.** After defeating him go back to Vitrini and get the 2 halves put together to form a whole key.
Now you are ready to go all the way around to the right and go through the locked door. Easy, since you already have the key. Make your way around the room to the stairs to Level 2. From Level 2 take the stairs to Level 3, then from Level 3 to Level 4. Now you are ready to battle King Terask I. (For this one you need to be at Level 59.) **He is capable of 64 hp group damge, 100 hp direct damage, slow 62%, Group Shield +30, Haste 38%, heal 150 hp, mesmerize, stun, 22 hp damage shield and slow 5%.**
***HINT*** If you use potions to help you defeat King Terask I try to use the hurricane, coma and the speed of light, since they can be replenished later.
After you defeat him take the teleportation orb behind him to leave the East Wing.
Lets go to the other side and do the same thing. Go through the room to get to the stairs for Level 2. Then go through Level 2 to get to Level 3. In Level 3 you will come across Lyra, get free rest and stock up on all of your potions here. Then head out to the stairs again. This is the end of the road. It is time to save Fyora and battle King Terask II.
***HINT*** Before starting this battle make sure all your skill points have been used. Make sure you have the weapons and armour you want to use equipped. This is the last chance you have to do this.
Once you go up the last set of stairs there is the Big Boss King Terask II. (You ought to be at Level 60by now.) **He is capable of 64 hp group damge, 100 hp direct damage, slow 62%, Group Shield +30, Haste 38%, heal 150 hp, mesmerize, stun, 22 hp damage shield and slow 5%.**
