To Cheese

Cheese
A tangy delicacy
Cheddar
Or maybe Swiss
Creamy yummyness

Good on a sandwich
With bologna
And mayo
With a yogurt
A perfect lunch

Or just plain
All by itself
Pepperjack
And summer sausage
Mixed with a good book

Wonderful
For every occasion
And when I close my eyes
I can see
My cheese heaven

Black and White

White
Is a solid canvas
Pure and clean, like newly fallen snow
It's a smooth blank space
To write joyful things on
A bright ray of happiness
Void of hue and grayness
Sometimes appearing
In an illustrious silver
Nothing is hidden
In its simple honesty

Black
Is an emptiness
That is not a color, really
It is a deep dark dangerous shadow
Absorbing everything it can
Like a cold dark winter sky
Without a moon to light a path
Leaving you lost in an endless maze
It's a place where creatures with forty eyes
Stare out at you from closet doors
And clowns can make people smile
Though not in a happy way

Overly Optimistic

Just a person who's
Overly optimistic
Keeping the world from
Entering total seriousness
Ready, set, go
Magic tricks,
Anyone?
Now it's your turn to smile

Whatever doesn't kill you
Helps to make
You stranger
So don't blow things
Out of proportion

Seeing as how
Everything is one big game
Re-creating terror
Is my specialty
Over the entire city
Until I stop smiling
So why not see the bright side of things

Mirror

Illusion
In glass
Mocking
Taunting
Saying
I'm real
When really
You're not

Mystic
Revealing
Hidden wishes
Uncovering
Secrets
Stealing
My sanity
Like a fog

A thread
To fantasy
To a world
Of heresy
Never
Stopping
My heart
Stops beating
It pulls me in
Takes me away

I don't exist
Does anything, really?
In a land of lies,
False promises,
And broken hopes
Twisted and woven
Into something demented
A devil's crown
Warped and bent
Reality's connection
Is now blemished
Turned into
A tarnished wire

Nothing endures
The shadow's touch
Forever falling
Never soaring
My wings
Are broken
Wound around
A ghostly evil
I'm vanished
Into nothing
Living in
A mirror

Frozen

My fingers are numb
My pencil sticks to the page
Doesn't fly across
The blank space
Doesn't produce
The right words
My hand reacts
A second too late
I've already made
A dozen mistakes
Like taffy
My fingers slowly function
Trying to warm up
Trying to go faster
It must be below zero
I wish it were warmer

Can't Erase

I made mistakes
But those were erasable
Practically untraceable
Until I wrote with pen

Now everyone knows
The mistake I made
There's no way to hide it
No way to fight it

I see it everywhere
My eyes in the mirror
Tell me much clearer
How fatal my accident was

I'm pinned against a wall
Under everyone's prying eyes
Just because you told me lies
I can't start over again

Another Place

I just live here
It's not my place
No connections
It's that much easier
When you move on
To another house
Don't promise to write
Or keep in touch
Just bury the memories
Numb the pain
Tell yourself it's fine
The world will stop spinning
Around your desolation
And you'll find
Your destination
A hidden treasure
The mother pearl
In the black sea
Of a cruel world
Your heart will heal
Eventually
But don't lose hope
You'll always have it
Someone loves you
You know they do
March proudly
Put on a mask
Until you're home
Safe, at last

Crazy Wonderland

I think I just
Got lost in a wonderland
Can't you see the rabbit hole
I fell through?
Maybe it's just the moon
But if I'm underground
That can't be so
And what about that rabbit
With the uncertain eyes
They say time flies
But I think its stuck here
Where cats are insane
I can't say less
For the Queen
I don't know how tall I am
Or how big I'm suppose to be
A cat may look at a king
I can't find the key
Maybe I lost it
Perhaps I forgot it
When I played croquet
I'd rather go home now
For the excitement is dull
My mind is swirling
I must be mad
To wind up here
In this crazy wonderland

Driving me crazy
My mind goes hazy
Nothing is real

Can't get it out

It seems to be mocking
My world disappears
My life it steals

I am but a plaything

Perspective is lost
My eyes become glass
A puppet on a string

Like the sea

It pulls me down
Horrid blackness grabbing, dragging
Such an unbearable cling

It makes it's own

That horrible

An Entertaining Feye

Strawberry red
Glints in you hair
Emerald green
In your eyes
A smile like gold
Shines on your face
And your laugh
Is an autumn sunrise

The dance of a willow
Is how graceful you move
Bright butterflies
Circle your hands
Birds summon a breeze
Whenever you please
Your skin glitters
Like fine grains of sand

A crown of ivy
Entwines your head
You see the night
Yet bright as the day
Who can feel
If anything's real
When entertained by a feye

Dreaming Girl

Dreaming girl
Staring at the wall
Seeing fantasies
Inside the wallflowers

Dreaming girl
Tracing portraits
Into the sidewalk
Invisible masterpieces

Dreaming girl
Flying with doves
While lying on the ground
Surrounded by leaves

Dreaming girl
Making daisies
Out of weeds
Calling butterflies

Mixed with imagination
Bringing out the best

Cuckoo Bird

Cuckoo bird, cuckoo bird
Hear my plea
Flutter your wings
Take the darkness away

Hear my prayer
Banish the dark
From my prison-like lair

And teach me to fly

The Raven

Caw the raven
Fill the sky
Black silken wings
Terrify
Me, the land
A swarm of shrouds
Engulf the clouds
Wings beating
Moon phases
A dark cloak
Velvet curtains
Universe torn
Quoth the raven
Nevermore

Time

Time, time
Flitting past us
Catch it if you can

The clocks are ticking
Seconds passing by

Seconds to minutes
Minutes to hours

Time, time
Here and gone
Never coming back

Time is fleeting

Silent Bitterness

I hate the silence
So why can't you answer
When I say hi?
What did I ever do to you
To make you treat me the way you do
It's like I'm not even there
With you looking past me like
I'm just thin air
I don't want to hear your life
I just want to be comprehended
This weird silence ended
Is it too much to ask
For you to say hi?

Bluebird

Sing me a song
Colorful bluebird
My sky is a dark grey
I want something to cheer me

Sing me a tune
To remind me of better days
Bring the sunshine back
And turn back the clock

No! Please, don't fly away
Don't leave me alone
In this darkening gloom
Take me with you

Lead me back
Pretty bluebird, take me
Where I can see the stars
Hear the ocean cry

Sing away my heart
Take it where I can always hear
The pretty music of the wind
Bonnie little bluebird
