The Legend Begins...
~Prologue~
I remember an image. A joyous image. The first feeling of sun-touched grass on the rangeland of Meridell. A moment of first breath. I was a young colt when our lands were peaceful. The clouds hovered over and wisped their shadows long across the green plain. This place was, shall I say, full of life and bliss.
But it never stayed that way, unfortunatley.
One black day, a monstrous army of 10,000 darigan unis called the Vilehorn attacked and conquered our land. Twisted creatures, they are. A bony skeletal-like structure was covered beneath their ruptured coarse hides. Their horns were crooked, and carried the black magic within the core. Web and feather together made up their bizarre wings. They greeted their 'guests' with frothed mouths and brutal neighing. But as much as they were disgusting in appearance, they were cunning. Their leader, Arkhanu, was willing to take our land with force. However, our rebellion would not back out without a fight.
The Scarlet Wing, the alliance of the warrior unis, fought back with honor and pride for their land. I could only watch, leaning against my mother's side with fear. With horn and hoof they clashed. Anesar, my sire and the leader of the Scarlet Wing, led them to a temporary victory. Arkhanu and his forces fled to their fortress. From then on, they've continued to plague the land with fear.
