Welcome

Welcome to Solitude. We are a brand new, literate Warriors roleplay, with a twist. We are currently accepting members, and roleplay has just begun. There is still plenty of time to jump in before the plot starts. We are ran by Mercia, and currently not private, and require a short application.

Plot

For the longest anyone could ever remember, there has been one rule that never changed: You may not become an Apprentice until your gifts have manifested. It was a simple rule that the Clan never saw an issue with, until the first cat ever born with no powers came. He was still a '-kit' when he returned to Starclan, even though he left at an elderly age. This cat was not the first, as the moons passed more cats came into the world remaining untrained until it started to become a problem.

The Clan was thriving on its rich prey from its mountains, rivers and forests but when a harsh Leaf-bare hit Darkclan and tempers were high the tradition the clan had kept forever was changed.

A kit, old enough to be an apprentice unknowingly went out training with a couple apprentices, who being young were not used to the newly fledged powers. There was a terrible accident that left the kit scarred for life.

Now not only were these powerless cats nuisances but they were getting harm, they were weak and useless. The leader of that time, Gorsestar made a decision. Any cat passed 20 moons that has no sign of being apprenticed; powerless cats, are to be banished to the swampland outside of the clan's official territory.

It was a harsh sentence for a good portion of the Clan had to leave their families, but as generations passed it made Darkclan stronger. Now every cat was either apprenticed or banished, and food was not wasted. It was peaceful once more.

It has been many moons since the Code changed. Gorsestar passed away on his ninth year a long time ago and a couple of leaders have risen and fallen. The Clan continues their traditions, it has become a small event when a cat is banished. A Queen may cry for her kin who has forced to leave the Clan, but it is for the good of everyone and life continues as normal.

What no one ever considered was that the swamps might actually be habitable. These abandoned cats have thrived over the years and while each one does not have a drop of power within them it won't be long before they grow so large that they just may think of expanding their territory to a land far more pleasing.

Rules

In the guild..

oo1. literacy - First off, we are a literate guild. We trust you know what is acceptable in the areas of grammar and punctuation, as well as length of roleplay posts. However, we do understand occasional typos and writers' block, so we will not hound you for mistakes or shorter posts.

oo2. ooc & bic - Make sure to use some indication of "out of character" and "back in character", whether it be the abbreviations ooc/bic, or simply some parentheses. This keeps things organized.

oo3. character pages - Your cats must be located on a character page, along with their essential information. (ex. basic info, appearance, personality, history)

oo4. application information - A role play sample is required to join the guild. Just something simple s we can gauge your literacy level. Send this to either Mercia orAxel

Characters & Roleplay

oo1. Naming - Names are traditional, that means nothing super crazy like diamond, metal, or dragon. Traditional names are usually colors or natural things. Be reasonable, if your name is something too awful we may ask you to change it but we're not going to be super strict as long as its not like Rainbowfairy or Metalsnap.

oo2. Cat coats - These cats will remain realistic when it comes to their coats. No odd colors, no jewelry, and no perfect star shaped markings. We just don't want anyone going crazy.

oo3. Powers - All powers must be approved by a person on council. Powers are semi-hereditary, like cat coats. A family could have similar powers or all have completely different powers. But every power is individualistic, one cat may have a similar power but could use it differently. Usually, the older or higher rank a cat is, the more experience they are with said power too.

oo4. Character Limit - There is no character limit, we trust that you are able to handle whatever character you create but if it begins to be a problem you may be asked to remove a character or so.

oo5. Character Restrictions - Keep an eye out for restrictions. If we have too many toms, there may be a ban for creating male cats until more she-cats are made. This may happen with certain ranks too.

A Warrior's Gift

Now, you are probably wondering what these so-called "gifts" are. Starclan blessed the cats of the Clan with special abilities. They were passed through generations for as long as the cats could remember. Cats could protect themselves with flames, or be able to pin a cat down with one paw, or even be able to sense injury with ease.

The powers are hereditary, in a way. Although, this doesn't mean a litter of kits are destined to have the same gifts as their parents. Paths diverge, and new gifts are discovered. For most, at least. There is always a chance that a kit will not develop gifts. This is dangerous. They are weaker, and can result in the death of the cat from a simple accident. But in times of leaf bare, it isn't easy to keep around cats that can't carry their own weight. These cats, if not graced by Starclan by 20 moons, will be banished from Darkclan.

As a cat grows and becomes stronger, so do their powers. Leaders, Deputies, Senior Warriors, and Medicine Cats all have the strength of Starclan behind them. They are able and skilled with their gifts. It's a rough path, but very rewarding in the end.

These powers are in no way going to make a cat grow wings, or change into a purple color, or morph into a dragon and destroy camp. They are more simplistic. Just run your gift across someone in council, and we'll make sure to mention if it is needed to be toned down.
