Not Together, but Not Alone
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea…"
You and a friend of yours are walking through an old forest through the night with only a single flashlight to show you the dirt path. You two were heading home from visiting someone who had called you over; a friend of your friend's that you had never met before. The woods had been a nice shortcut during the day, but now it is an ominous place.
There is the sound of something snapping in the dark followed by rocks rolling across the ground. Both of you freeze.
W-what was that?" your friend stutters, drawing closer to you, "It came from over there…"
She points in a direction off of the trail. Getting a brave look in her eyes, your friend hands you the flashlight, "Here. I'm going to see what caused that sound."
Your friend was more curious than what was good for her, but you take the flashlight all the same and watch her disappear into the darkness. After a few moments, you hear your friend give a quick scream…then nothing…
After a moment's hesitation, you travel in the direction your friend had just gone, shining the flashlight ahead of you. You freeze as you see the glint of the reflection of the light from your flashlight off of a thick liquid. You move the light, revealing your friend lying on the ground with a slitted throat and two hardly noticeable puncture marks in her neck. Her eyes are open, but there is no life in them. Horrified, you stumble backwards, sending the beam of light from the flashlight up into the trees. As soon as you do, you hear an unearthly shriek and see something fall from the tree, landing on the ground with a grunt and a soft groan afterward. You flash the light back onto whatever it was that fell out of the tree. In response, you hear the shriek again as you see that the thing that fell out of the tree was a guy who seemed around 17 or 18 years old. He was shielding himself from the light with his arms as he knelt there before you.
Put it away…"
It takes you a minute to make out the growlish groan from the guy who seemed to be suffering. Confused, you simply keep the light on him, staring dumbly at him.
I SAID PUT THE STUPID LIGHT AWAY, YOU SLORG!" He roars when you don't obey.
This time you move the beam of light off of him. Its pretty clear tonight and you're in a pretty clear part of the forest, so you can pretty much use the natural light to see him…pretty much…
You can see him straighten up in the dark and you also see the glint of his red eyes in the dark. He's apparently a Bori. After all, you see his tufted tail sway a bit and his ears go back up.
Now…Turn it off…" he says much calmer, his eyes staring straight into you.
Not knowing what else to do, you obey. You become confused again as you hear him begin to chuckle.
Heheheheheh…Stupid Human…" he says under his breath before you hear something like a roar and see him quickly coming at you. Your eyes widen and you instinctively shine the flashlight back in his eyes. By this time, he was less than a foot from you. The color of the eyes are red and they narrow as soon as the light hits them. His hair and ears are black and he seems to be wearing a mask made of bone. His mouth was already ajar, but the Bori slams his feet on the ground to stop himself from continuing forward before his eyes close and his mouth opens up all the way to release another shriek. Your eyes widen even further as you see the fangs in his mouth glinting with the light of your flashlight. It is then that you remember the puncture marks in your friend's neck.
You…you're the one who killed her! You killed my friend!" you realize. The vampire begins to chuckle again.
Yeah. I did. Didn't get to feed much yet. You know, that flashlight's hurting my eyes. I find it too bright. So, why don't you be a nice, little mortal and turn it off?" he asks nonchalantly with his eyes closed as he straightens back up. He's wearing a black vest-jacket, black pants and black shoes.
Because you'll kill me too," you answer, not moving, but being a lot smarter now.
Yeah, that's true. Well, if you're just going to shine that thing on me, you might as well try to run. I'm a lot faster than you, but I guess you can try."
No way, I'm not that stupid."
I think you are. Oh well. Its not like I don't have options. I'll go on and eat your friend. She's dead anyway. You've got nothing to defend."
He began to walk towards your friend's corpse, but he didn't open his eyes. As a result, the Bori tripped, catching himself with his palms on the ground and muttering frustrations under his breath.
You know, this would be a while lot easier if you'd just turn that stupid thing off."
I know. That's why I'm keeping it on," you reply as you glare at the vampire while he gets up again.
Well, if you're just going to force me to keep my eyes closed, then I might as well try something else," he says with his arms crossed in annoyance. You don't notice anything different about the vampire until he re-opens his now minty-blue-green eyes, "You see, human eyes adjust much faster than vampire eyes to light."
Wait a minute! You can't be him, can you?" You ask, remembering something your friend's friend was saying about some vinyard a long time ago.
Hmm? Can't be who?" he asks as he looks at you with interest. You note that his fangs are gone, too.
That guy! At the vinyard! But…he died…His body was found in a puddle of blood on a road…"
Dominetry," He replies with a nod, "Yeah, that's me. I wasn't dead. I was near death, but not dead."
What…? What happened?" you ask, intrigued.
The vampire sighs and mutters, "I guess this is what happens when you talk to your food. Ah, fine. I'll go on and tell you about myself."

Information on Vampires of the Marrowtooth Clan
A wooden stake through the heart will not kill them. It will paralyze them, but not kill them. Fire is the most deadly thing to them. They are extremely flammable. If they stay in the sunlight too long, they will catch on fire and burn to death. Silver, commonly used to kill werewolves, is also deadly to them, though it acts more like poison, so it isn't as potent as fire. Silver is fine on them; it just can't be in them. they cannot die from old age since they don't age. However, if they go too long without food, they will die of starvation. Blood is their only food source. Nothing else even has taste to them. Water does not melt them, its fine, it just doesn't really do anything. At all. Naturally, they will sleep somewhere cold, like a freezer or something. Garlic is fine. They don't eat, really, but if they did, they could eat garlic. Their kind of vampire is not born a vampire. They are turned into vampires, having once been normal people. The one who turns them into a vampire is known as their sire. The sire is responsible for teaching the new vampire about themselves and how to control themselves. If the sire just leaves the new vampire on his or her own, then the newly turned vampire is known as a rouge and will die of starvation or become feral and must be killed. Though able to hide their vampiric features at will (if they have enough blood absorbed that they don't need to eat right away), they still cannot be in sunlight for very long. It burns, anyway. They cannot turn into anything, nor can they fly. However, they are very very fast runners. Though they have feelings, they are unable to have children. However, a newly turned vampire is like a son or daughter to his or her sire. A bite will only turn someone into a vampire if he or she has a near-death experience. If they are completely drained or don't have enough blood taken out of them, they will not turn. They keep the same age appearance as when they are first turned. If you are turned when you're 30, you will always look 30, even if you're over 200 years old. Animal blood is like junk food that tastes bad. It doesn't give you the proper nutrition, so they are only drained if it is absolutely necessary until you can find a proper food source. This particular clan is composed solely of this kind of vampire. Different vampires have different jobs and each apprentice has a master that teaches them. The apprentice doesn't become a master until his or her master dies. The majority of the clan are hunters and huntresses who search for and capture people to be drained by the rest of the clan. You can always tell a master if he or she is wearing a mask made from a skull. The mask is made by the apprentice when his or her master dies. The mask is made from the master's skull and the apprentice is instructed by their dying master on how to make it. It is formed so that once it is on, the new master cannot take it off without breaking it and they are made so that they are very very very very hard, thus, helmet-like and very very hard to break. The fangs of the old master fuses with his or her skull when he or she dies and are always a part of the mask. Bones are as important as blood to this clan mainly because of red marrow in the bones which make red blood cells. Sometimes, if they are pressed for food, this small clan will eat red marrow.
Story
Okay, so, Dominetry was once a regular person. Well, not really. His dad owned a very popular vinyard, thus, Dominetry was rich. Well, his dad was rich. Anyway, his parents knew that eventually, Dominetry would inherit the vinyard along with everything else. So, they wanted to make sure that he had an heir, too, which meant getting married. Soon, their entire estate was filled with new workers while the regular ones were on vacation. All the substitute workers, much to Domi's annoyance, were young, lovestruck females around the same age as him and they were constantly trying to do everything for him. Though Dominetry had been trained since he was little to show class, elegance and charm whenever in the presence of pretty much anyone, he did not like all the attention. Not for very long, at least. He couldn't find any peace anywhere and because he was trained to be nice all the time, he had to hold his frustrations inside. Finally, one night, he couldn't take it. He snaked out of the estate into the vinyard's fields of grapes to try and be alone. He knew, though, that this would be the first place people would look for him and he would have to explain his absence. So, he traveled further, out of the vinyard. Though he was finally alone, as in being without others like him, Domi was being watched. He didn't know the other was there until it was too late. He was pinned to the ground and two foreign objects had jabbed into his neck. He barely had time to catch a glimpse of his attacker before everything went black.
When he woke up, rather surprised that he was still alive, he saw his attacker looking down at him. Instantly, terror struck into his heart. "No! Please, don't hurt me!" he pleaded, fear wild in his once minty blue-green eyes as he held up a hand as a feeble shield and his stiffened muscles pushed him harder against the wall he was leaning up against. "Relax, kid. I'm not going to hurt you. I know you have questions behind your current terror and confusion. I am your sire; I am the one who turned you into what you are now." "Wha-? What exactly am I, then?" "Feel your upper teeth. You're a vampire. You are hungry, as all newly turned. I understand. Do not panic, just tell me your name." Domi felt his new fangs, realizing exactly how hungry he really was. "D-Dominetry..." "Don't worry, I'm here to help you. This is a big and hard transition, but don't worry. I'll help you through it. For now, here. Take the blood in my veins. It is the only thing that can feed your hunger right now. You're clumsy and new. You're hopeless. But I'll change that soon enough. Until then, I'll hunt for you." The Domi's sire held out his arm for the new one to feed upon. At first, Domi resisted, but then he could practically see the blood in their veins like little rivers of red wine. His red eyes narrowed as he opened his toothy mouth and snapped his jaws down, feeding upon his new source of nourishment. Domi was soon after taken deep into the forest surrounding the fields of the mortals to a vampire camp. He then learned that this was actually the Marrowtooth Clan and that now he was a part of it. There were also other newly turned vampires there, being led around the camp by their sires. Everyone here had red eyes and fangs, like Domi had now. Domi had also changed into a black vest, some better-suited black shoes and pants of the like. His sire assured him that his parents thought he was dead, having found his lifeless body lying on the road with a small puddle of blood around his neck and head. They hadn't noticed the bite-marks, fangs or red eyes. Good thing too. Almost immediately, he was taken to one large tent where the clan leader was. He watched as one newly-turned was told that she would be a healer, another, a fighter. Domi was to be a hunter. He felt that he was lucky to at least be apprenticed to his sire, which seemed to be rather rare. His sire seemed to be very happy at the news that Domi was to be his apprentice. 'Does he...care about me...?' he wondered when he saw his sire smile at the news. He later learned of the parental feeling that you get when you become a sire. Though Domi never sired, it was explained to him by his own sire. His sire also explained that everyone who is able to sire must sire, at least for now. The clan was dangerously small and could easily be wiped out. The majority of the clan were hunters and good ones were desperately needed. Food was hard to get, especially when your food is so able to kill you. He was taught about how to hunt, hunting lore, the rules of hunting, who to hunt, where to hunt and the history of the Marrowtooth Clan. As it turned out, the Marrowtooth Clan was only one of several lesser clans. The largest, strongest and most diverse clan was the Vampiro Clan; the dominant clan. All the lesser clans wanted to overthrow the Vampiros, but everyone wanted to be the one to do it. "Well, we have received some information on their greatest concern. The Loto Biancos are planning to attack the Vampiro castle: Castle Tide. They are unaware of this planned attack, to our knowledge. Hunters, fighters and some healers will be sent out to the battle and help the Loto Biancos to crush the Vampiros, but the Lotos will not be able to tell the difference between a Vampiro and a Marrowtooth, to we will have to be fighting on all sides. This attack will make it easier for us to take dominance. And guess what? You and I are going to be a part of it!"
By the time the troops were being sent out to Castle Tide, Domi had learned a few things. Firstly, he had completed his training under his sire, though he was still an apprentice. He wouldn't become one until his own master died, so he wasn't exactly impatient to graduate. Also, he had learned that his old home wasn't as great a place to hunt as he had first thought. With his parents dead, his uncle had taken over the vinyard and his heirs would rule it. Servants had come and gone, but Domi had nearly been killed when his uncle caught him. He wasn't about to lose his inheritance just because his nephew was ageless. Luckily, Domi's sire came to the rescue and because no one actually saw the vampires besides Domi's uncle, everyone simply thought the mortal was being haunted by the loss of the one who would've had the vinyard had it not been for his tragic death. In short, no one believed him. He now also had a bond with his clan and especially with his sire. He knew most of them by name, who to avoid, things like that. He felt like he was a part of something. He learned, too, that healers don't really heal. They're just called that. They practice in magics that can be used for healing, but vampires pretty much heal themselves automatically. Another thing he learned was to beware Lotos. He learned this by nearly dying while hunting on his own. His prey was in his sights. He was alone. His blood was healthy and rich. This one would be a fine kill. Domi couldn't understand why the human seemed to sense his presence though. He used extra caution, but this was no ordinary human. When Domi pounced, the human managed to escape his attack and run him through with a blade of fire-like magic. With a screech of pain, Domi staggered back. There was a residue from the blade in his wound so that it kept burning and would not heal. Domi thought for sure that he would die. But as his sight blurred, black lightning and wind blasted at the Loto, hurting him. The last thing Domi remembered was some dark forms crowding around him as they knocked out the shining human. When he woke up, Domi's sire explained to him what had happened. The human was a Loto Bianco. He had infected Domi with light magic and the healers had to try to extract it. It nearly killed one of them but when it was out, it flew away in a little ball of light. Once it was out, Domi was able to heal, but he still needed to rest. When some of the Marrowtooths came back to retrieve the Loto Bianco's body, they didn't find anything. That Loto was alive and out there somewhere. Never again did Domi bother someone he sensed to be a Loto. Well, not until the battle at Castle Tide at least. There, he had to try and avoid several light attacks and destroy many Lotos, which was NOT easy. He also felled some Vampiros. Sure they were better fed and stronger than he was, but Domi was fast and they were easier to kill than he was. It was only about a half-hour or so into the battle that Domi could scarcely see any of his clan left. He couldn't hear healers casting spells or curses, nor could he hear the cries of surprise as vampire turned on vampire. It was then that he saw him. The Loto that had nearly killed him before. He seemed rather irked and he held his luminous sword in hand, ready to strike Domi down. Though the vampire braces himself as the Loto charged at him, he did not anticipate how fast this guy really was. He was just able to avoid the shining metal and try to knock the Loto out, but again, he moved quickly. Domi couldn't hit him! Finally, Dominetry was tripped and he fell to the ground, looking desperately around to try and find something he could use to shield himself from this radiant fury. But the sword came down...just as Domi saw his sire a few feet away, lying limply on the ground. His red eyes widened in horror and he could barely hear himself scream "NO!" as he dashed towards him, avoiding and forgetting about the Loto that had been about to kill him. Everything was a blur as he hauled his sire onto his shoulder and dashed out of the battlefield, faster than he had ever gone before; a speed he never knew he had. Domi didn't stop until he and his sire were far away from the battlegrounds. His sire was still alive, but just barely. He was badly burned and had two silver fragments in him. He could barely speak, but with what he could say, he instructed Domi on how to make a mask using his skull. Dominetry listened intently to every word he said, memorizing every syllable. "Good...you can be..." but the wheeze of his master's sentence faded, uncompleted. Domi tried not to grieve right then and there, but it was too much. He shook himself from it as quickly as he could and preceded to follow the instructions his master gave him. When the mask was done and on his face, Domi buried his sire and let himself grieve for a long time...but the time came when he left the place where his master lay and sneaked back to the fight which was now over. He stealthily found his way back to where his clan had once dwelt, but no one and nothing was there now. So, Dominetry began to formulate a plan. He remembered some of the hunter's lore he was taught. It spoke of a creature that yielded endless blood during the night, the best ways to catch it and a warning that this creature only yielded its blood if it was alive so it must never be drained completely. "A HemoAisha...there is always one in the world, somewhere. Its pretty elusive, and there's always ever only one, but if I can catch that and find my scattered clan...we...we'll never go hungry again! We can focus on our next move against the Vampiros and the Lotos without worrying about starving! We'll become the dominant clan!" Dominetry could hardly wait to start the search for his scattered clan and the HemoAisha. Without seeing any reason to delay his search, he started it right then and there. And so the fight for survival began...for both vampire and HemoAisha.
The Meeting of Tain
A bubble of yellow light floated over to you with your flashlight and Dominetry who seemed rather annoyed as he glared at the bubble.
You stupid stalker! How the heck did you find me again?!" the Marrowtooth growled at the bubble, which landed on the ground, flashed, and was gone. In its place stood a tenna whose eye color matched Domi's. Well, in his current, human-looking form, anyway.
Is this tenna your petpet?" you ask, looking at the happy, little petpet whose eyes were shining up at Dominetry.
I wouldn't call her my petpet, but unfortunately, yes. She keeps following me with her stupid light magic. She can't run very fast, but she's got enough light magic to float around. I think she's an alien and maybe has some sort of magical tracking device on me. I just can't get rid of her. Actually, I didn't even know she was a she for a while. When someone told me, I was pretty surprised, but it didn't change how I felt about her much."
How'd you meet?"
Petpet

I was hungry…very hungry…I hadn't eaten in too long. I was searching for the HemoAisha and I didn't want to stop, but there comes a point when one must feed. I was eating anything, no matter how bad it tasted, so when I came across Tain, the tenna, I wanted to eat her so badly. I stuck quick but nothing entered into me. That was when I learned that tennas had no blood. Its rather annoying news when you need food right now or you'll die. So, I kept searching. As it turns out, punctures don't last long on tennas. Soon, the annoying thing was following me around everywhere, no matter what I did. Well, that's the story on how I met this useless thing.

Devil/Tyroon
Relation: Friend?
It is not common for me to make friends, especially ones outside my clan. I am not sure about this one. Yes, one. Tyroon is the name of a rather violent and somewhat impatient spirit whom claims to be a demon. That would make sense considering that he takes possession of an aisha named Devil every night while she keeps control of her body during the day, according to their contract. Tyroon lost his love, Rose, long ago and is searching for the one who killed both he and she. Devil offered to help by providing herself as a host for the tormented being. You don't need to know the details, but, in short, I befriended both Devil and Tyroon. Tyroon hunted with me and Devil played her cello for me. They even allowed me to stay in their home for a few nights, which, too, is uncommon since I rarely stay in one place for long. When we parted ways, it was Tyroon who farewelled me. Upon our parting, he gave me a little, worn-out, splintering, wooden cross which I tied to a string I'd put some bone on as traveling rations for their marrow. Likewise, I gave him a fang necklace from a lupe unfortunate enough to cross our hungry path. It was for both of them. I don't understand it, but I have theese weird kinlike feelings for them…
Get Out
Your eyes have drawn heavy since you first met this vampire. The night was nearly over and up until now, adrenaline had kept you awake and alert. The corpse that had once been your friend was beginning to smell bad and Dominetry had returned to his vampire form, squinting again in the light of the flashlight.
I'm hungry…what was going to be my meal has spoiled and I need food soon. You need to go…now. I'll eat what I can from your friend and hunt again. I won't be able to get you now. The sun will be coming up before I can feed if I don't hurry. Go on and leave. You've probably got thin blood anyway. By the way, I hope I never see you again."
Realizing that your flashlight was now obsolete, you turn it off and begin to walk away, amazed that the hunter let you go. You look over your shoulder just in case and see him bent over the corpse of that which once was your companion. Tain was staring cutely at her stalkee, and…well, not really doing anything else. Well, you'll have something to tell the parents of your friend…
