| MY PAST |
I always acted like a king, I don't know why. All of the colts despised me, and only one filly really knew me. We were best of friends, and around her my kingly attitude seemed to ebb away. But my character got me into many fights, many of which I did not win, as I was ganged up on. My mother was chestnut, my father pure white, so under my chestnut pelt was a white undercoat. I was born with my right eye white. A colt kicked me in the left, tearing all of the brown hair off and reavealing my white jacket. The hair never grew back, and now I have a circle of white around each of my eyes.
When I was a yearling (2), my friend and I overheard the colts planning an attack on me. I fled. I knew I couldn't take on fifteen skilled fighters. My friend stayed behind. Her mother was the lead mare and very powerful, so it would have been a death sentence for both of us.
Over the years I was able to round up mares and make a herd. There, my kingly attitude was admired. I did not have any foals, though. Why would I have children with more than one? No. I just had mares. They feared me, if they were pregnant when I found them. They though I'd kill the child because it was not mine. But I did not, and they thanked me for it, both mother and son. I was never challenged for my rights, and so I never had to banish stallions.
One day, I sensed something wrong in the air. So I climbed a ridge to see. I thought I saw less trees in the far distance, but shook it off. Over time, I saw that the trees were vanishing and I grew nervous. I could not sleep. Could not eat. The mares were getting fidgety. Every day the trees were gone and big structures were starting to crop up very slowly. Soon the thing was almost upon us. The lead mare did not know. I had never remembered to tell her.
One day two-leggeds appeared with big sharp things that were noisy. They cut the trees down. All of us ran. We were so frightened that in the mix-up everyone went a seprate way and was split up. Including me.
I found a herd, the Shadowed Spirits, and so starts the next chapter of my life.
