These lists are suggestions only, and they are not complete. The listed weapon prices are not entirely current, as weapon prices shift constantly with the neopian market. If an auction or trade price seems suspiscious to you, ask for a price check on the battledome and trade chat boards before buying.

Fragile and Single Use Weapons

These are weapons which are single use or fragile. Using these is in a way throwing your NP away. But these weapons can be worthwhile for important fights, such as Defenders of Neopia missions, plot-battling and BD competitions. Also some people earn enough NP that the costs using these are inconsequential, or at least less than the daily interest on the cost of the rest of their battleset would be.

Q & A Section:

Q. What do all those weapons do? Why don't you list the complete stats here?
A. The purpose of this page is to be a quick reference to useful weapons by price range. I have given very brief summaries in green after each weapon to make the guide more useful. However, I feel that listing compehensive weapon stats would make the page too long and cumbersome and no longer useful as a quick reference. For full weapon stats I recommend that you consult the In-Depth Battlepedia neopets fansite (IDB for short). You'll have find it with a search engine, as neopets frowns on direct links. I also recommend that you maintain a list of exactly what your own weapons do for times when the IDB site goes down. I further recommend that you test your weapons yourself, as IDB stats are not always 100% accurate.

Q. So which 8 weapons should I buy for my set? Why don't you list sample sets?
A. Which weapons you want for your set is going to depend on a number of different factors. The problem with sample sets is that weapon selection depends not only on budget but also on species, stats and whether you battle one player, two player or both. Long term goals, training methods and daily income can also influence the type of set a pet should have. I think including enough sample sets to cover all those possibilities well would make this page too long and complex to serve as a quick reference guide. If you want general advice, every set should have a freezing weapon, a healer, and at least two offensive multi-use weapons. The other four weapons can be a mix of bombs, stealers, shields, dual duties, reflectors or additional offensive attack weapons appropriate to your pet, opponents and battling style.

Q. Where can I find out more about battling and battledome weapons and tactics?
A.That's an excellent question. Here are some very good guides for aspiring battledomers:

beatmetoapulp's petpage

garmfry's petpage

Silvercyanide petpage

Luna_Alien Petpage

Q. Help!?! I got some of these weapons, but I still can't beat Punchbag Bob/Black Pteri/Commander Garoo/Space Faerie/other challenger.
A. You probably need to train more and/or get better weapons, but for more specific advice, some helpful guides for beating various 1player challengers include:

richardnub's petpage

Nangauta's petpage

will0_o's page

Wolzrule's petapge

Q. Somebody suggested that I should get an EWB, PFF and HP? What do those even mean?
A. xCombat's petpage has a list of commonly used weapon abbreviations.

Q. Weapons get really expensive, how can I make enough NP to afford them?
A. There is no single right way to make neopoints, but here are a few useful petpages:

The immortal sirhatter's guide to food club

clotho's guide to the stock market

Q. Hey, you left out _______, and that's a great weapon. Why didn't you include it?
A. Yes, these are not complete lists, and I did leave out a number of weapons. There are three reasons that could have happened. First, maybe I don't think it's so great. Second, maybe it is great, but only in certain situations, or it has drawbacks that make it not so appealing to those in need of a quick reference. The third reason is because I might not know about the weapon yet. If you know of a weapon which has had stats confirmed on IDB and you think it's better than a weapon I have listed here in a similar price range, neomail me about it and I may add it.

Q. Hey, you included ____, and that's actually pretty lame?
A. Obviously I disagree, and let me save us both time by stating that you won't be able to change my mind. You are free to start your own list. I don't even mind if you use mine as a starting point for your own, just cite me as a reference if you do.

Q. So should I spend my NP on training or getting better weapons?
A. The short answer is that training now, buying weapons later is usually going to be the better long-term plan. For a longer answer: I recommend that you work out the math as to how much more damage your would do by training another strength boost as compared to how much more damage you'd do by upgrading your weapons and do a similar comparison on the costs. Be warned that the results may surprise you.

Q. Someone suggested that I should get weapons that get through Sink and Burrow, which ones are those? Why does that matter?
A. Sink and Burrow are Faerie Abilities obtained by releasing bottled Faeries. Both are highly defensive and block almost all of 5 different icon types. As both abilities are frequently used, many battlers feel that offensive weapons which deal icon types that those abilities don't block are better than similar weapons which deal icon types they do block. For reference, Sink blocks all types aside from Air and Earth and Burrow blocks all types aside from Light and Dark. To find out more about Faerie Abilties and about what icon types various weapons deal, I recommend you consult In-Depth Battlepedia neopets fansite (IDB for short).

Q. What's with this color scheme?
A. I'm a fan of both the Steelers and Maddox.

Q.Will you give me____ ? Will you lend me ____?
A. No!
PS: Welcome to my block list.

Q. Can I be your neofriend?
A. If you need to ask, you didn't read my userlookup, and literacy is the very first thing I look for in a neofriend, so no.
