She started acting at the age of six, when she landed her first series regular role as Angela on Barney & Friends, there she met her best friend, Selena Gomez. As time went on Lovato pursued her singing and instrumental career, and she guest starred on Prison Break, Split Ends (pilot) and Just Jordan. In January 2007 she landed a series regular role as Charlotte Adams on the Disney Channel original short series As the Bell Rings, which premiered on August 26, 2007 during Disney's Back-to-School special night. She starred in the Disney Channel Original Series of a show-within-a-show, Sonny With A Chance, that began production in September 2008 but has quit in early 2011 to focus more on music. Lovato also stars in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock & Camp Rock 2 as Mitchie Torres. She was also in Princess Protection Program with Selena Gomez. She is a singer and songwriter as well as a musician, playing guitar and piano since the age of eleven.
Lovato opened for the Jonas Brothers on their summer 2008 Burning Up Tour. Lovato also attended the Disney Channel Games 2008 in spring. The Jonas Brothers have helped her to write 11 songs for her Don't Forget album. Lovato held her first headlining tour summer of 2009. Here We Go Again(Demi Lovato's 2nd CD) released summer of 2009 as well. Lovato is also working on her 3rd studio album while she also tours with the Cast of Camp Rock and the Jonas Brothers for a 2nd time.
Demi took herself off of the Camp Rock tour once she realized a tragic accident that she caused with a fellow friend/background dancer, Alex Welsh. Lovato has gone through treatment in a rehabilitation center from an eating disorder and cutting. She was released early 2011 and has been better since. While in rehabilitation, Demi was diagnosed with b1polar disorder.
Lovato was also voted #2 Hottest Stars in BOP Magazine in September 2008. Demi Lovato has dated several stars as in, Cody Linley & Trace Cyrus. She also dated her Camp Rock 2 co-star/love interest, Joe Jonas. But Jonas decided to end the relationship in May. When asked about the break up, Jonas responded, "Demi and I knew that going into our romantic relationship it may not be an easy one. I realize that over the time we have spent together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up, but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.".
Demi is best friends with fellow Barney & Friends actress Selena Gomez and the pair share a lot in common together. When asked a question of how long the pair have been friends, Demi answered "when I asked her to sit on my jacket and draw with crayons (at the Barney auditions)". Demi wears a purity ring that says "True Love Waits", but as a necklace.
Demi has released the song, Skyscraper, since she's been out of treatment. Demi has 'breath taking vocals' and decided that focusing more on music instead of acting for now is the best way for right now. She has since released her 3rd album, Unbroken on September 20, 2011 and is on her first tour since being in rehab[A Special Night With Demi Lovato Tour].
