Step One: Understanding World Challenges
World Challenges are divided into 12 different worlds. Each world has different games that you games play for World Challenges. Some games are there everyday, others are there ever so often. To play a World Challenge you enter and send your best scores for that game. Each World Challenge lasts for 57 minutes, from 3 past the hour to the end of the next hour. If you win a World Challenges, you get a map piece for a map set in that world. Each world has three map sets. Each map set has twenty map pieces. Once you collect all twenty pieces, you can convert them and get 2000 np and a rare item. Once you convert all three map sets in a world. You can reset them and start back at map one.

Step Two: Picking a Game
The next thing that you need to do is decide which game to play. The best thing to do is look at all your scores and decide which games you have the best scores at. You do not need to be a grand master or have a trophy to win a World Challenges; you just have to be ok. Different games require different skill levels. A good way to find out the scores for different games is to go to the game's World Challenge page(explained later on) and click on Previous Hours Results. There look at the people to won and see what scores are the best. Once you picked out some games that you are good at, you will need to see if they are World Challenge games. Only some games are World Challenges games. To find out if a game is a World Challenge game, go to the games page. If there is a World Challenge symbol underneath the game, then it is a World Challenge game. If there is no symbol, that it is not a World Challenge game.
The game on the left does have a WC symbol while the game on the right does not.

Step 3: Playing World Challenges
The first thing that you need to do is click on the World Challenge icon bellow the game(picture above). Then click on the world of your game. After that click on your game. Once at the World Challenge screen, click on "Enter the challenge" to enter. It will cost 100 np.
Next click on "Play and send your score!". That will take you to the game's page. Then open a game window and try to get your best score
Once you get your score, send it. If you go back to the World Challenge page it will look like this with your score there. This means that your score has not been processed.
To processes it, TNT will compare your score to a random other person's score. If you score is better than the other person's score, you get +1 points. If it is worse, you get -1 points. If they are the same, you get +0 points. There are three different ways to win. They are: highest tally of points, highest score, and highest total scores. You can only win once, even if you are at the top in all three categories. To find out how many points you have, look above the score chart.
A sample score chart looks like this. During the hour the score chat will update if you refresh the page.
The numbers on the left show what place everyone is in. Next to that is everyone's username (I erased them for everyone's privacy). The next column over is your tally. Next are how many times you won, how many times you lost, and how many times you tied. The next one over is how many scores you sent. Next is how many neopoints you will win if you are in the lead. Next is your hour's highest score. And the last column is your score totals. The default way that the chart is organized is by tally. If you click on the headings, it will organize the chart by the one you clicked on. In case of a tie, the person with the highest score gets to be in the lead. The bar in the middle is there so people can tell easily who is winning. Everyone above that bar is winning and can get a prize at the end of the hour. Everyone below the bar is losing and will not get a prize. If you click on the username, it will take you to the challenge rating of that person. If you click on scores it will take you to a screen like this.
The first thing is the game. Every score under that is from that game. If you click on the game's name, it will take you to its World Challenge page. The first numbers on the left is the time that your score was processed. The next column is how many points you got. Next is your score that was processed. Next is you opponents score. And last is your opponents username. Under that are the total points that you have. You can only win a World Challenge if you meet all the requirements. Here are some sample requirements.
Every World Challenge that you do will need at least 5 players. If there are not 5 players, it will continue into the next hour. To win a World Challenge you will also need a tally of 0 or greater. The thing that is different with each World Challenge is the top number of people who win. In this example, the top 4 people in each category win a prize. The number of winners changes depending on how many people are in the World Challenge. The more people entered, the more people who win. The less entered, the less people win. Here is a table showing how many people win compared to how many are entered.
At the end of the hour if you meet all the requirements you will win some np and a map piece for the world that the game is in. TNT will send you a neomail telling you that you won. The next competition starts at 3 past the hour. To make it easier to understand how to win a World Challenge, I have put a list below with the ways to win. Ways to win World Challenges
Remember, When you win a World Challenge you not only win a great WC map piece, you also get some np. The amount of NP that you get depends on how many people are entered and what place you got. Remember the 100np you spent to get into the WC. Well those np go into the jackpot which determines how many np each winner gets. The jackpot is right below where it says how much time is remaining. ![]() Here is a table showing how much everyone wins depending on the placement and number of people entered. The numbers represent a fraction of the jackpot. For example, 1/4 means that the person would win 1/4 of the jackpot. Or if the jackpot was 1200np, they would win 300.
Hints while playing World Challenges:
The left score chart is organized by score totals. The one on the right is organized by tally. If you look on the one on the left, I am losing. But if you look at the one on the right, I am winning.

Step 4: Converting and Selling World Challenge map pieces
When you win a World Challenge, you win a map piece for the world that the game is in. So, once you start winning World Challenges a lot, you will get a lot of map pieces. These map pieces are items and can be stolen, so make sure you take good care of them.
There are two things that you can do with the pieces. You can either sell them or save up and convert them. I personally like to convert them, but it is your choice.
World Challenges map pieces are usually worth between 10-30k. They are worth more if you collect all of them and sell it as a set. You can auction them, sell them, or trade. I would suggest collecting all of the set and then selling them on the trading post. I also suggest advertising you lot on the trading board. That way you will get the most np for them.
You can also save up all your map pieces and convert them for 2000np and a rare item. To do this you need to move the map pieces into the map gallery. To do that click on the map piece in your inventory. Then click on "add piece to picture".
You will see that there are two maps. Scroll down to the bottom one and click "add to picture".
It should move it to the top map. All map pieces in the top means that it is in your map gallery. The questions marks mean that you do not have it in your gallery. The map pieces in the bottom map are in your inventory.
Once you collect all 20 map pieces click on "convert" to convert them for 2000 np and a rare item.
And now you get your great prize!!!:)
You can get many different prizes from world challenges. Usually it is a paint brush, although you can also get a petpet paint brush or a valuable petpet. When I have converted mine, 80% of the time it is a paint brush. To see a full lists of everyone's prizes, look at _knight_dog_'s pet page Mooshell252 is collecting the times that people have converted WC maps. She is testing the theory that time effects what prize you get when you convert a map. When you convert a map, please neomail mooshell252 with your conversion times and your prize. You can see her data on Windkissed petpage. Sometimes you will get more than one of the same map piece as a prize. In that case you would need to sell it and buy one that you do not have. I would suggest putting all your duplicates in your safety deposit box until you get 20 pieces total (In gallery and SBD). Then sell all your extras for ones that you do not have. That way you will not need to keep on selling them and you can also probably sell them for more np. Personally, I keep all of my pieces in my normal gallery. That way I can easily see how many pieces I have and other people can trade their duplicates with mine. The are also WC swap shops where you can trade your pieces for someone else's piece.

Frequently Asked Questions
In this section of my guide, I will answer your questions. Just neomail me with a question and I will put it in this section and neomail you back the answer. This is a new section so I currently only have a few questions. Remember to neomail me your questions. Thank you. With a challenge I was told you can receive 3 pieces a day. Is it 3 pieces total or 3 pieces per map?
It is three pieces total. For example, you could win three pieces from Faerieland, or you could win one piece from Faerieland, two from Virtupets Space Station. In both of these situations, you would have won your maximum pieces for the day.
If I send a score at the end of the hour of the challenge and it does not get processed, what happens?
Your unprocessed scores will carry to the next hour's competition. They will then be processed in the next hour and you will get your tally points for them.
Do you know if the prizes for level 1 , 2, and 3 are about the same?
Generally, level 2 is better than level 1. And level 3 is better than level 2. If you want to see a list of all the prizes, go to _knight_dog_'s pet page.
Say that I play a game (say Wingoball) and win a Neopia Central 1.3 WC Piece. If I play the same game and win, will I get the same WC piece in the same gallery?
The piece that you win from any game is random. TNT selects a random pieces from that map(in this case Neopia Central map 1), and puts it in you inventory. Sometimes you can get the same piece more than once. You will usually get a few duplicates every so often.
How many times can you send a score for a single game in a world challenge contest?
You can send as many scores as you want in the challenge. However, only the first three scores that you send will earn you neopoints. Also, make sure you open the game window after you have entered the challenge, otherwise you will not be able to enter in more than three scores.
If you have multiple of the same pieces, you can trade them, correct? That is correct. WC map pieces are just normal items; you can sell them, trade them, put them in you galley or do anything you want with them.
