Welcome to the exist guild website. Here, you will find the links to our various activities, events, games, and otherwise. We ask that you abide by our guild rules and type to the best of your ability at all times.
Exist is a community within a community. Though, you've probably heard that phrase thrown around quite a bit when it comes to guilds, we truly mean it. Members of exist are prone to think outside-of-the-box, have a unique personality, and bring something different to the guild. Each member of exist is treated as an individual because they are.
Rules
When you become a member of exist, you have agreed to follow our guild rules. These are in place to keep the
home feel alive. If you have any questions about these rules, please neomail xx__thunder, or a Neighborhood Leader.
► Message Board
■ Please keep your posts to a minimum of five words each, and do not post more than twice in a row. Give others a chance to answer you. We would rather have fewer, thought provoking posts. Posts in all capitals are considered spam. Chat speak should be kept to a scarce minimum. You are an important person, and therefore, your I's should be capitalized.
► Harassment
■ There is to be no harassment of any kind in exist. Not only is this against our rules, it's also against Neopet rules. This includes name calling, arguing, or otherwise. You may not beg for graphics, neopoints, items, lends, or any other service, items, or events at any point in time. This cannot be done through neomail or on the message board.
► Advertising
■ Though we do appreciate the hard work that members put into advertising, it is vital that you read the guildless board that you happen to be advertising on. Make sure that the person is requesting a guild like ours before you advertise. Please do not create boards to advertise for exist, though if we have a current board, you're more than welcome to bump it. You will need to direct all potential new members to here.
► Being Active
■ In order to remain a member of exist, you must be an active member. Being active means more than simply posting a message here and there. You must do your part in participating in some activities or challenges. Exist is a community and creativity based guild. In order to maintain that atmosphere, we expect all members to take part as much as they can. This doesn't mean that you have to participate in everything, but if you just chat on the boards, perhaps exist isn't the place for you. If your Neighborhood Leader feels that you have been lacking in this department for a long period of time, they do have the authority to warn you and request your removal from the guild.
FAQ
Welcome to the FAQ. If you're new to exist, you will save a lot of time and confusion by simply reading this. Exist is an in-depth guild, and because of that, there is a lot of information to process. Older members of exist will also find this FAQ most useful.
• What is a Neighborhood?
Neighborhoods are our guild teams. They are an incredibly important part of our guild, it is highly recommended that you understand them. You will be placed into one once you have posted twenty five times in the guild message board, and have filled out the Neighborhood Placement Application. This application can be found on the Tour. Once you have been given your Neighborhood, you will receive your own History File.
• Can I choose my Neighborhood?
No. Nobody can choose their Neighborhood. You will be placed according to your answers on the Neighborhood Placement Application. There is no bending this rule.
• Can I change my Neighborhood?
No. Once you have been placed, you will remain in that Neighborhood for as long as you exist. If you leave the guild, and rejoin, you will be placed back into your original Neighborhood, regardless of your placement quiz answers.
• What are Life Credits?
Life Credits (also commonly referred to as LC's) are Neighborhood points. You may earn these in various activities, events, and games throughout exist. A running tally of these points are displayed on the blog section of the guild.
• What are Coins?
Coins are your personal form of currency. You may use these to purchase items from the guild mall for your loft. Other events such as The Cruise also cost coins to participate in. Much like Life Credits, these can be earned throughout exist. Coins are harder to obtain than Life Credits.
• What are NL's?
NL's are Neighborhood Leaders. Each Neighborhood has one leader per month. Council is reserved for these members. NL's are responsible for monitoring the board, orchestrating challenges, and so on. When these positions become available, there will be an announcement on the guild. You are only permitted to lead your own Neighborhood.
• Do I have to be active?
We understand that people have lives, jobs, school, family, and friends, so we don't expect you to be on Neopets 24/7. However, if you rarely get on the internet, we would fail to see why you would be in any guild at all. You must post at least once every fourteen days. If you become inactive, you will be removed. You will have
two days from the time you join to fill out the Neighborhood Placement Application and meet those requirements. If you do not, unfortunately, you will no longer
exist. We do also require that you take part in
some activities or challenges.
• Can my side account join?
You are allowed to have
one account in exist. You are free to join on your side account if it's the only account in the guild. The only time there is an exception is when you are silenced, and the exception is
temporary. You will no longer be able to participate in activities, nor collect loft items on side accounts.
• Where is the Donation Shop?
We don't have one. As it is against Neopet rules to give anything away, we do not accept donations.
• When can I spend my Coins?
If you've saved up any Coins and would like to spend them, you can do so at any time. You will simply need to travel over to the guild mall and choose what you would like to buy. When you've made your selections, neomail your list to
Ashlee. Once purchased, your Coins will be deducted from your total amount, and your items will appear in your loft.
• What are rare items?
You can purchase rare items in the guild mall for your loft. There are only
five of each rare item available. Normal items that are offered in the guild mall can and will be offered again. Rare items will never be offered again, nor is there any more than five of each item.
• Why should we win the monthly challenge?
The point of working together with your Neighborhood to win the monthly challenge is to simply win bragging rights. You will also receive the Neighborhood Trophy for your History File, 5,000 Coins, and items for your Loft.
• How many pages can I host?
Each member is allowed to host a maximum of three pages or activities at one time unless under special circumstances and noted by Ashlee.
• Can I submit a layout?
Every member of exist is certainly allowed to give making a layout a go. We're looking for high quality layouts. Not all layouts are accepted, but those that are will receive 500 Coins and 10,000 Life Credits. Neomail your layout to xx__thunder upon completion for review.
• When does everything reset?
Exist runs in one-month intervals. At the end of the month, Neighborhood Leaders will be re-selected, all Life Credits will return to zero, and the winning Neighborhood will be announced. Everything will be re-set on
June 2nd, 2012. New Leaders will be selected on
June 3rd, 2012.
• What happens if I leave and re-join?
It doesn't matter whether you leave the guild accidently, on purpose, lose your account, or otherwise, you will lose your History file, all stats, loft items and awards. Your pages will be removed. If you choose to rejoin, you will simply have to start over.
If you're having trouble with your account and need to switch accounts, an agreement for your history file, loft items, and awards, may be arranged prior to you changing accounts. If you leave before the discussion is made, nothing can be done.
• We're private! How can I gain recruits?
You can simply give members the link to the guild website, as well as the Non Member Page. The Non-Member Page is linked on the main page of the guild. You will receive a recruit point when somebody sends in an application, they don't have to be sent an invite for it to count. If the NMP is not linked on the guild, we are not currently accepting members.
• How does the test determine my Neighborhood?
For each multiple question, the answers are worth a certain amount of points. For the self evaluating question there are key words that are worth points, and some that take away points. You will be put into the Neighborhood your score adds to. The score-key is changed often.
