Hello! I'm Dactyllic the ... Lab Pet. I was born a Yellow Pteri, and after months of debate in my extended family, I became the Lab Pet. Ambylur is too cute as a Birdy Zafara, and Xalynx likes being an Ixi.

Oh, and Nekulvor... well, he's a Second-Wave Draik, and it just wouldn't be right if they changed his species.

Like so many other Lab Pets, this site is mostly for keeping track of what changes have been made to me, so let's get started! I was first zapped on July 2nd, 2002.

Since so many people have asked, this is how you get access to the Secret Laboratory:
Step 1: Collect all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map (they all must be in your Inventory)
Step 2: Go to the "Games" room and go to the "Treasure Maps" game. Go to the Lab tab and it'll show whether or not you have the whole thing. If you do, you have access and may zap one of your pets each day.

We decided that once we had sufficient data, we would keep it organized in a group of charts. That way, it wouldn't be a big long list, and you could see how many points I've gained and lost in each stat. We kept track of the total points change, and not how many points were given with each change. After more than a year of being zapped, here are the tallies:

Please note that it has taken over Six Months to reach these stats. Apparently removing HP isn't programmed into the Lab Ray, as I have never heard of it happening--but it might in the future. Overall, all of the changes have been positive, but do please note the total changes. It's nice that the lab ray has given me a lot of strength points, but remember that it also took away about 2/3 of the total it has added!!!!

The Lab Ray is NOT an efficient or quick way to reach a high rating in stats. It's nice for training HP, and it is excellent if time is not an issue. I can take as long as I like to train up to a high level, it doesn't make a difference to me because I'm not hugely interested in fighting.

The average value of the Secret Lab Map has gone up dramatically since hints of the Meridell War first started. As you can see, I'm nowhere near being able to fight--I had decent weapons and still lost to Morris.

Note: When the Lab Ray changes species, usually a color change goes with it. I'm going to start paying attention to the exact text of the changes, because when I change species, the text is as follows:

... and he changes into a Green Koi!!
whereas when I change color the text goes like this:
... and he changes colour to Faerie!!!

It might have happened that a colour change may have been a species change along with a colour change, but to the same species I had been. I'm going to pay more attention to the exact text in the future.
