The pain is getting worser,I can't sleep. Each breath I take,Cuts like a dagger. Each breath I take,It hurts even more. What can I do, to cure this pain? What can I do,To get away? The pain is getting to me, I can't control my toughts. Everything is spinning,'Cause of this pain. If I go to bed to night, And I don't wake up, Please tell everyone,That I'll miss them. The pain is getting harsher,I can't breath. The pain is getting worser,I can't sleep. Each breath I take,Cuts like a dagger. Each breath I take, I hurt even more. © by Rebecca Minnick (down_n_grey) |

You're walking around the Deserted Fairgrounds, bored out of your mind. You decide to "bush wack" and walk into the surrounding woods. A couple of minuets into it, you hear a sad melody. You strain your ears to make out the words. With out any luck, you follow the sound. As you get closer, you start to hear the words for the melody:
color>Each breath I take cuts like a dagger...
color>
Its all you hear before it stops. You stand still, unsure what to do next. Before you could make up your mind,
the bush in front of you parts. A red kougra appears, holding a dagger in her paws, aimed at you.
She looks at you, to your head then to your feet and back up. She puts her dagger away in a pouch tied around
her waist. You relax a little, knowing that she won't stab you. Seeing you do so, she stands up on her hind legs,
towering over you. She smiles.
You study her some more. After awhile, you decide she's OK to be around.
You sit down in front of her and ask, "Who's him and why do you need
that dagger? You winced. "Kill? What do you mean?color> She sighs and looks up into the sky.My family, and I, are under a curse.color> What kind of curse?color> Every first born girl, on the mother's side, dies when they're seven, a young age. When they are not the first born they die when they're about fifty. If they're lucky, they'll die of old age.color> How are they killed?color> In a dream -my family calls it The Last Dream- they are killed. They go to sleep or go inconsonance and dream their deaths. He comes to them and kills them. That's why I have my dagger, even though I'm 13, I still worry.color>
Thinking logicaly you say: "I'm sorry you had to see your sister die."

When I was a cub, I didn't have the pain. When I was older, the pain came. It didn't give a warning; it showed no sign. When it first came to me it was strong; strong enough to make me pass out. A few days later I woke up in a hospital. Later that day my mother told me about the family curse. After that, we looked for someone to take me in. It was November 17, 1999. That day it started out like any ordinary day for a seven-year-old. I couldn't wait to get to school, in choir we're trying out for solos and I practiced n-blocked- for it. I was ready, at least I thought so.

Beatrice (she_who_blesses)- Beatrice's my owner. She's a very good person. She took me in when my mother could no longer care for me. Kefir (Kefir_Llue)- Kefir_Llue is my adopted brother, he is older then me. Although most xweetoks are afraid of kougras, Kefir isn't afraid; he's probably not afraid of anything.
