Jake The only character in the game is Jake, Neopia's greatest explorer. He's studying ancient ruins and searching for hidden treasure. In the game you have to collect gold coins, precious gems, and Mystery Island fruits to find a rare golden idol in the end. Use the left and right arrow keys to walk and press the spacebar to jump.

To climb or descend vines and ladders use the up and down arrow keys as well. If you're on a vine you can move to another one by using the left and right arrow keys. When you're on a ladder and want to jump off it use those arrow keys, too.

Click on "New Game" to start the game or on "View Instructions" to read the instructions.
If you have already played the game, but have not finished all the levels there will be another option.

Pressing the "Continue Game" button will allow you to start the game where you last ended it, but your score will be reset to 0. So this option is made for people who want to start again in the middle of the game.
Attention: By clicking on the "New Game" button you will have to start at level 1 again!

In the game you have to pay attention to deadly traps, spike pits and dart blowing statues. You will lose one life if you get hit by any of these! You only have three lives and there's no chance to get an extra life!

Falling rocks: Rocks will fall off from the top of the page so pay attention to them. You cannot jump over rocks!
Spike pits: Spikes will suddenly appear and disappear. You can jump over them if they're appearing or walk over them if they're currently in the ground.
Dart blowing statues: These statues will blow deadly darts at you when you're walking in the statue's direction.
Lava and Water: You will have to jump over lava and water to avoid falling into it and losing a life.

You will need to collect bonus items to get a good score when trying for a trophy. You collect items by walking through them.

You have to collect the Mystery Island Fruits to complete a level! If you collected the fruit you'll earn 50 points and the level will automatically be finished.

Cheats
freetime - Type this during gameplay to pause time.
gimmeabreak - Type this during gameplay to gain an extra life.
nomorerocks - Type this during game play to get rid of the rocks.
All cheats can only be used once per game!

There is a map to navigate through the island. Click on the arrow to move to the level you want to play on. When you've finished a level you'll get a certain score and a rank of either gold, silver or bronze. It depends on the score you made and on the time you needed to finish the level. Some levels can only be played if you have a certain amount of trophies. If you don't comply with the requirements you can always replay a level to get a better rank.

Now I will show you how to finish each level. There are many ways to complete the levels, but I only listed one or two here. The red ones are those which I prefer, but some people like the yellow ones, too. The red circles are the bonus items which you should collect. The green circle is the fruit which you have to collect in order to finish the level. The lilac box is the last treasure you'll collect - the golden idol. The blue box stands for the spikes and the black box for the dart blowing statues.
Positive things are in green, red and lilac, whilst the negative things are in blue and black.

Level 1 - Deserted Shores:
Collect all the coins and then the fruit.

Level2 - Shipwreck point:
Pay attention to the falling rocks on this level! First, climb to the top of the vine and move to the other vine to collect the two coins. Then climb down to the statue, collect it and climb up to the part with the two spikes. You may have to wait until the rock is gone to have the chance to collect the other statue.

Level 3 - Swinging Dunes:
In this level there are no rocks!
First collect the green gem on the right. Do some up-warm jumping before doing the big jump so that you don't fall into the water. Then jump back to the platform where you started and jump to the left to collect the red gem. Climb up the vine until you're right under the platform on which the grey statue is standing and then let yourself fall so that you land on the other vine. Collect the coin. Then climb up the vine which leads you to the grey statue. Be careful here, because it spits arrows at you randomly. Walk to the right and finish the level. Attention: Collect the golden box before picking up the berry!

Level 4 - Shore Escape:
Not a hard level at all, but you have to pay attention to the dart blowing statues and be careful.

Level 5 - Mysterious Jungle:
One of the easiest levels! Just wait on the ladder if the rock is stumbling into your direction and is very near to you so that you wouldn't have enough time to climb on the ladder without waiting. The yellow way may be the better one!

Level 6 - Perilous Perch:
In this level there are no rocks!
Take care at the two spikes! If you think that you can manage it you can either jump over the two spikes with the risk of losing one life or wait for a moment until both spikes are under the ground with the risk that they may appear suddenly. If you don't want to risk this you can jump on to the vine, then jump on to the other one and then let yourself fall off on the little stage. The first two methods would save you like 3 or 5 seconds. Hurry when you're at the top of the level and have to collect the Mystery Island fruit. The statues will most likely blow a dart at you, but if you're fast enough you'll finish the level before you can lose one life!

Level 7 - Among the Treetops:
In this level there are a lot of vines on which you have to climb. This, in general, takes more time than walking with Jake, but if you press the left arrow keys quickly you should be able to finish the level in a good time.

Level 8 - The Edge of the Volcano:
In this level you have to be very careful because of the rocks. Apart from that, the statue can blow a dart at you, when you're on your way to the vine on the left. So let's hope that doesn't happen!

Level 9 - Rocky Ascent:
Go to the bottom of the first vine and wait there, until there are no rocks stumbling into your direction. This may take a long time, but if you're lucky the rocks won't stumble into your direction. Then hurry and collect the coins. When you're jumping on the vine again from the platform where the coins are on, do a lot of warm-up jumping, jump and press the up arrow key. Collect the gem and the fruit.

Level 10 - Boulder Barrage:
One of the easiest levels, because there are no rocks this time. Just pay attention to the dart blowing statues and don't fall into the lava!

Level 11 - Cliff Climbing:
This level is a bit risky. You have to be careful of the falling rock on the platform where the spike is on. If you're on the platform, you have to jump over the spike (or wait until it disappers, but that will cost you too much time and the chance that another rock will fall on you increases). You have to stand on the end of the platform to jump onto the vine! You cannot jump from beside the spike onto the vine!

Level 12 - Into the Fire:
This is my favourite level. It's easy and you get some extra points. There are no rocks. Just be aware of the darts.

Level 13 - The Heat is On:
The final and hardest level. In this level there are many rocks which can hit you like every second. Search for some areas where you can wait for the rocks to stumble away. For example, the stage where the little golden box is standing on or the vine above. When you've collected the golden idol the game will be over. You get 100 extra points. Attention: When you've ended this level, you will have to start at level 1 when you want to play next time! So if you're only willing to get your 1000 neopoints, you shouldn't play this level, but the ones in the next picture.
