Hello raymedeiros!

About Me
Me? I'm your average, just-out-of-college girl. I like dressing up in cute clothes, going out to eat, and reading anything and everything I can find. Seriously, I can get sidetracked by the sports section of the paper. And I hate sports.
Current Book: Windfall by Rachel Caine
Current Favorite Show: Once Upon a Time
As you can maybe tell, by my choice of reading and television material, my favorite genre is Sci-Fi & Fantasy. In fact, I'm currently writing chapter 8 of a fantasy novel. It's about a coven of witches and features a very sarcastic, morally ambiguous main character named Monroe who's going to throw a huge wrench into the works of everyone she comes across. If you ever see something called Rogue Coven (my current working title) on the shelves of Barnes and Noble, it's mine.
I don't want to give away part of my book until it's finished, but I also write fanfiction under the username WhiteFang72. My only current story is a Naruto one that's Kakashi-centric and deals both with time-travel and the mending of the characters' broken families. I'll only really post it once it's finished and edited (which could be a while), but here are a few parts of it as a sample of my writing style:
Well," the blonde girl started, "If it was me, I'd give him something that would remind him of how special I am. Something to tell him that I'm a good daughter who totally loves him, but who also needs new clothes. Preferably sometime soon." She paused to pick up a wildflower and inspect it, but gasped as an idea seemed to hit her, "I know, get him a picture of you!"
Sakura raised an eyebrow at her friend. "I… don't think that's how we're supposed to be treating our dad's."
Ino shook her head in mock sympathy. "Sakura, Sakura. Use your massive forehead to think, please? You just don't get it. Men are dense. They need guidance. They need—"
Exploitation?" Sakura's deadpan voice was about as impressed as someone who shows up to a ramen stand only to find it closed. That image briefly made Naruto rub at his heart in real, raw pain. That would be awful!
Naruto shot her a sunny smile anyway, "C'mon Sakura, I was just cheering you on. And having me around will make your 'girl time' less boring!" Naruto cocked his head as both Sakura and Ino turned on their heels and walked off. "Eh, Sakura? Sakura?"
As they were walking away, he heard Ino say, "He just doesn't get it, because he doesn't have parents."
Naruto froze. His smile slipped.
The Hokage held up a hand to stop him, shock in his eyes. He spoke, "Rabbit, Deer, Mouse, Eagle. Please leave."
There were no questions. Instant obedience arrived in the form of a whirlwind of activity from the corners of the room, where Kakashi knew the Hokage's personal guard had stood. When the wind dissipated, the room should have felt emptier. Kakashi swallowed his unease at the fact that he hadn't even felt the guards' presence in the first place. His attention was brought back to Sarutobi when the old man steepled his fingers and leaned closer. The Hokage sighed as he asked, "Did the sky change as well? From day to night and back again? Too quickly to be normal?"
Sakura shot the man a surprised look and answered, "Yes, Hokage. How did you know?"
Because you are not the first to come across this group of ninja." The man answered. He stared at Kakashi as if he was looking at him in a new light. "I assume you've realized what happened?"
Kakashi cocked his head, "Perhaps. What year is it?"
Well, there you have it. Hopefully you can catch the gist of it even if you haven't seen/read Naruto.
As for my work life, I've just found a job as a captioning assistant. Which means I'm in training to "re-voice" things so that the hard of hearing can use the telephone just as easily as everyone else. If I'm hired after training, I'll be hearing someone speak, repeating it verbatim, and whatever I say will go through the Dragon Naturally Speaking software and end up on the client's telephone as text. It's pretty fascinating stuff and I find it strange that I didn't even know it existed until I signed up for it. ^^
So... That's what's going on in my life. Neopets has always been, and will always be my cool-down place. It's the place I go to when work gets too stressful and when I can't write another sentence because my characters just aren't cooperating. I go here to chat on the boards, participate in plots, browse the pound, train, draw, write, and relive childhood memories. This place is special, and I'm glad it's here.
Why Kiodis?
Because as soon as I saw him, I knew I had to have him. Honestly, I'd never paid much attention to Faerie pets before. There are so many of them, and most of them aren't that cute. But Kiodis is adorable in a way that the rest aren't. Here's why:
I have a confession to make. I LOVE dragons. You have anything that even resembles a dragon and I'm bound to like it. Examples:
My main account is named firedragon9078.
I have three Draiks, all of which I saved for and hatched myself. Ciroz and Kuvri are my babies. :3 But I'm not just satisfied with those, I still want one more.
The only disappointing part about Skyrim is that you can't actually control the dragons you ride.
I have an awesome Chinese dragon statue that my aunt gave me. It's basically set up in the middle of the room.
My favorite part of the last Hobbit movie is definitely going to be Smaug.
I own Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons and also the board game based on it. I used to spend hours drawing the things trying to get them to look as good as the ones in the book.
Ask me if I've read Eragon or The Dragonriders of Pern. Go on. Ask me. ;)
Now, in case you're wondering where I'm going with this, here's where. To me, Kiodis looks like an insanely cute, adorable little dragon balancing on his tail. I fell in love instantly.
Of course, Kiodis's happy little smile helped too. I have a feeling that if I logged on and saw that everyday the adorableness could make my whole day a little brighter. And in case you're looking at my other pets and saying "it doesn't really seem like you like cute things," just know that I sometimes watch Animal Planet's Too Cute. I squeal in cuteness overload every time I watch it. Oh, and I also have a Yorkshire Terrior named Dusty. People roll their eyes when they see me talking to my baby. But she is the cutest thing on the entire planet and no one will ever convince me otherwise.
So that's why I want him in a nutshell.
Character
Personally, the first time I saw Kiodis I squealed and said, "Omygodwhatacutelittlegirlpet!" So I decided that, if I were allowed to adopt him, he would be a female.
Name: Kiodis
Age: Early twenties
Gender: Female
Occupation: Librarian
Background: Born beneath the dusty rafters of an aging library, Kiodis lives a forgotten life. Most of her books are in dead languages. Her visitors never stay long. But one day, she finds a tome that tells her of the future, the past, and the present. Its elegant scrawl leads her down a path of visions, of might-have-beens and of things-that-will-be. However, knowledge comes at a price and she... she just can't seem to put the book down...
Personality: Kiodis is quiet, kind, and humble to a fault. She was always known for giving sage advice. Now, thanks to the book, she's never wrong. If she can use her power for good, she tells herself, there's a chance that everything will turn out alright...
I don't normally give pets personalities so similar to my own, but... Kiodis kinda resonated with me. She really just seems the bookworm type.
(Note: I, however, give terrible advice. Please don't ask me for any.)
Some art of Kiodis. This would be colored like my other art and then put on her petlookup.

Plans for Kiodis
Kiodis will be spoiled rotten. She'll have:
Art
I enjoy sketching things. When my little cousins come over I often use them as an excuse to draw cute pictures. Just the other day I drew a little anime girl with headphones on and gave it to Bell, who's about 12. I practiced sketching closed eyes (something I find difficult) and modeled the hair after hers. It made me smile when she got excited and took pictures of it. Neopets is basically another excuse I use to draw. And unlike professional art sites, I never feel inadequate when I post my stuff here.
The art for Kiodis will be colored like the art of my other pets. She'll probably have the violet and aqua color scheme of her actual picture, but I'd like to add some soft green to her scarf and glasses if it ends up meshing well.
A Character
I can't come up with art or customization if I have no character in mind. And honestly, creating characters is second nature to me. I am an amateur writer after all.
It's only after I create a character that a pet becomes real to me. Before that point, the pet's just a few pixels. But, for example, after I created Kiodis's librarian persona, I felt ten times more attached to the little critter. The librarian character itself is kind of a more interesting extension of my own personality and wants. I love libraries because I happen to be a quiet person who keeps to herself and likes to read. So, Kiodis would be unique among my pets for that alone. The others have personalities that are, whether for good or for evil, more confident and in control. Kiodis would feel more the way I do, unsure and a little fearful of life outside of a quiet room.
A Petlookup
Every one of my permanent pets has a coded petlookup. I don't do the coding myself, but I like tailoring them all to fit my pets. The lookup is where Kiodis's art and character bio will go.
Favoritism
Kiodis would never leave my main account. My other pets could get very jealous.
A Petpet
I've narrowed it down to a few different petpets I'd like Kiodis to have. Unfortunately faerie petpets are expensive, so it wouldn't happen for a while. But, as you can see, most of my permanent pets have cute petpets attached. I can see myself eventually buying one of these:

Customization
Now, these next are a bit ambitious. But I wasn't sure what background I would want, so I searched through the whole catalog. That... turned out to be a mistake. Now I want them all. The Spring and Valentines ones are easy to get. The rest are slightly more expensive. I'll probably end up getting at least a few of these.
Why Me?
I would make a good owner. Kiodis would be the active pet of my main account (firedragon9078). She would be the pet that's seen on the boards, the pet that's taken care of the best. I tend to make sure my active is happy and I often change out the customization of whichever pet that happens to be, since I quickly get bored of one background or theme. Kiodis will never be stuck with the same old thing.
You won't regret choosing me.
Meet The Family

The ancient guardian. She's stood sentinel for hundreds of years. It's been so long she's forgotten what she's guarding and even why she's guarding it. Anything that was good in her is long gone.
I hatched Kuvri myself and then painted her via a Fountain Faerie Quest. She may be my favorite pet of all.

The informant. The Oz's are the worst mobsters in Neopia Central. Ciroz is both their loving son, and the leak within their criminal organization.
Note: His clothes are on Siyc right now.
I also hatched Ciroz. In fact, he was my first Draik, so he's pretty special.

The proud pirate. She's still a puppy, but she's got spunk. As her mother's daughter, it's a guarantee that she'll end up a pirate captain. But she wants so much more.
Note: I have her hat and background, but have not transferred them from my main account yet.
I traded a real word for a pirate custom. So that's how Kuym came to be.

I created a Lutari on Lutari day and then zapped her. Malir turned Faerie, and I've kept her ever since.

The lounge singer. Her voice is like an angel's cry. She may be surrounded by the corruption of the 20s, but she's a sweetie through and through.
Note: Cilix is still being outlined. Her leg is fixed, though
I applied for Cilix when she was UFA, but didn't get her. Then, months later, I received a neomail from mucka33 asking if I wanted her. No application, nothing. I couldn't have been happier. :)

Siyc is rather sick right now. Get it? ;) Aren't I punny? He is being trained for trading purposes.
I hatched him on a whim during the Purge. Back then everyone was racing to create 4 letter names for their draiks. Siyc was the only okay combination I could find. I can't get attached to the name at all, so I'm looking to trade him.
My Art
This is an example of my art style. I didn't want to bog down your computer, so any other art I've done can be found in the petlookups above.

Conclusion
Your pet is adorable and I think it's amazing that you put her up for adoption despite the fact that she's so special to you.
With me, Kiodis would find a permanent home. ^^ I know you must hear that all the time, but with me it really is true. I pride myself on my promises. And I promise Kiodis would stay with me for a very, very long time. If I ever did decide to move on, I'd contact you and, if you weren't available, I know of a certain little cousin of mine who also has a love for Neopets. Really, she's been around so much she's more like a little sister than a cousin. I'd have something amazing to pass down to her.
But that wouldn't be for a very long time. Kiodis may be a pixel, but even the smallest things in life can have meaning. I understand that. Heck, I'm the person who still has her incredibly badly-named first pet (canine789_2000) simply because he's her first pet and is special.
Like I said earlier, you won't regret choosing me.
