Why do Elephantes paint their toenails red?
Why?
So they can hide in cherry trees.
What?
You ever seen an Elephante in a cherry tree?
No.
Works pretty well then, doesn't it?
You're lost somewhere in the tangled jungle of Mystery Island. The plants are beginning to look decayed... you could be approaching the dark, dead growth that was once Geraptiku. There are legends of the monsters that live in the deserted tomb there, and the last thing anyone wants to do is be suddenly confronted by one, alone and helpless.
You could try to turn back around now, or forge ahead.
As the jungle becomes disturbingly quiet, and the foliage less lively, you hear a series of THUDS resonating through the forest. You could almost mistake it for your own heart, beating out of your chest in apprehension. A tree above you jerks violently- A MONSTER!
Just as you prepare to bolt in any other direction, you realize it's no monster at all hanging above you in the tree. There are red, painted toe-nails, but they're nothing like claws. They are on big, flat feet, on big, pillar-like legs, on a big, green Elephante. And she's smiling, her ears perked, her little wings flapping excitedly.
Hello! My name is Chulita...70710 to be perfectly precise. There's a funny story behind that. But you can call me Chellie.
You relax. And are puzzled. How does an Elephante get up there...?
I live here, on Mystery Island. Here, let's walk!
She turns around and rather clumsily shimmies down the tree, hanging on by her front limbs while her back
half dangles down to the ground. And then she hangs
on with her trunk for safety until her front legs reach down to the ground. But still, how did she get up
there?
My name is Chulita70710. That's because I have a sister named Chulita707. She and I
are twin sisters. Well, not anymore. But we
started that way.
So she tried again, and made me. No sooner had she done that than we turned around,
and there was the first Chulita, as if she'd never
gone anywhere. She already loved the both of us too much to abandon either one, so we both got to stay.
Since then, we've gone through some changes. My sister became a Kougra, and was
painted Baby. After being an Eyrie for a while, I
became a Zafara. I think I was yellow then. After that I was a red cybunny for a while. I got so used to
hopping around, I can't get un-used to it. And now I'm a
green Elephante. I kind of hope to be pink someday. And when you come to see me, you'll be seeing pink
elephants!
I have a petpet! He is a Tuceet, and his name is TukiTuki.
I just found him here in the jungle. I was out hopping about the jungle one day, just kind of wandering,
maybe looking to find some fresh fruit to bring home. I
looove Banan. Well, finally I found one, just hanging in a very tall tree and looking so delicious. I wasn't
quite sure how to get all the way up there, as I had just
become an Elephante, and was used to being as grounded as a Cybunny is. I was sitting there, very intently
contemplating how I could reach the Banan.
Just as I was most distracted by my problem, the most awful noise startled me nearly out of my skin. It was
an awful squawking, screaky, jarring crow. I spun in
the direction of the yawp, and found a little black Tuceet sitting quite politely a few feet behind me. It
began chirping and warbling pleasantly, sounding nothing like it had
a moment before.
Hello little Tuceet. I'm Chulita. And I'm a bit busy, so if you like you can stay,
but I must concentrate on getting that Banan. You're very
cute, and it was nice talking to you.
Just as I was turning away, the Tuceet made that awful noise again. I turned back to it immediately, and it
began its happy chatter again.
I couldn't guess exactly
what it wanted. But suddenly I remembered times when I would bother Azulita n-blocked-. Just to do it. I would
distract her for as along as I could, until she would
finally include me in whatever she was doing.
... would you like to help?"
The little, inky-black Tuceet puffed and his eyes lit with joy.
Speaking of Banan, which happen to be the best fruit every in all Neopian history, let me share a little Mystery Island cuisine with you. In between your
busy-bodying amongst the surf, trading post, and training school, you have to take a break and enjoy the perfectly fresh exotic noms.
This is where I will display the things dearest to me.
For instance, I've won two trophies from the Beauty Contest.
Speaking of beauty, Artista recently did a portrait for a fellow Elephante, Centum's Supervacuo. It was part of an arttrade.
Here is her half
And in exchange, we got this absolutely perfect portrait. It's me an Tuki!
Well, when artista_10 came to Neopia, she created our sister Azulita. Right the very
same
day, she made Chulita707. Or she thought she
did. After she asked for her, Artista couldn't find the first Chulita anywhere. She thought maybe there had
been some kind of mix-up, and maybe her request hadn't
been answered, or something.

Once as a Cybunny, and once as an Elephante.

Azulita is a faerie peophin. She is the nicest sister you could ever ask for. And if you let her know so, she
is more than happy to gift you one of the treasures she picks
up on the sea bed!
Chulita 707 is a baby Kougra now. She is my very bestest friend. We could play games in the jungle all day.
Though of course babies need frequent naps, and we both
like taking snack breaks!
This is my brother Tucker. He's younger than me, and I'm an Elephante, but he's almost as big as me now. You
shouldn't make him cross.
