When Hawky first created this account, she didn't quite know which pet to get. She could have picked a gelert, or a lupe, but there was one reason that made getting a pet so difficult. Hawky is a bit... strange in her own ways, she has ideas and opinions not many would understand, but one of them is that she automatically dislikes something very popular with the majority. Therefore, gelerts and lupes were definitely out of the question. She never liked felines too much so aishas and kougras were crosses off the list. She didn't like fish, or any of the drake-like neopets available.

By the end of the day she still didn't have a pet to occupy the account and the list of neopets was getting slim. Irritated, Hawky went to take one last look at the create a pet center, to see if there was anything she might have missed the first couple times that day. She entered and walked down the many rows of colorful eggs, bright eggs, dark eggs, spotted and stripped eggs.

She walked passed the neat rows but no egg struck her fancy. She sighed and was about to give up hope when she saw a usul that worked at the Create a Pet Center carrying something in her arms. Hawky followed curious at what was going on. The usul was yelling something to another gelert who also worked, Hawky caught parts of the conversation, "it hatched" "take it with the others" "poor little one".

Hawky wondered what they were talking about and followed the usul until she disappeared behind a door. There was a glass window on the wall that permitted you to see into the next room. Hawky looked through the window and saw clean metallic cages stacked one upon another along the walls of the room, all full of newborn neopets.

In the center of the room was a metallic table with a blanket stretched across it, the usul walked up to the table and placed the newborn creature she had just brought in on the white blanket. It was a little uni! Hawky had a huge weakness for equines, but had never liked unis in particular, but this one was special in some way. Short dark chocolate mane, creamy white face, brown neck and white body dappled with brown. Little black legs couldn't hold up the baby uni yet as it tried to find a way off the table.

Before the usul could pick up the uni again and take her to her respective cage Hawky came into the room. She didn't know what this room was for, nor what happened to neopets that hatched before they were adopted and she was afraid something was going to happen to this little uni.

Excuse me, but where are you taking that little uni?" she asked the usul, her eyes on the scared hatchling.

The usul sighed as she looked at the rest of the cages, "these are all lil' 'uns that hatched too soon, they'll be taken to the pound t' see if anyone will 'dopt them. Pool lil' 'uns. No one comes 'ere to 'dopt an already born pet, everyone wants a new egg."

Hawky though it was terrible to send newborns like these to the pound just because people wanted new eggs and not pets already born, "I'll take him." She said pointing at the uni.

The usul smiled, "It aint a 'him' ma'am, tis a lil' filly." This was a problem to Hawky; she hadn't wanted a female of any pet. She wanted a male, but this little uni was looking at her with huge bright emerald eyes and she couldn't say no.

Of course she took the little uni home, me, and named me Chenoha (means White Dove in Native American) because she loved birds (hence the username 'Hawky') and thought the name was fitting for a couple reasons. She had found the perfect pet that sparked an equine madness that soon brought home three more equine pets into the family.
