Intro Ch. 1 Cerphiel Ch. 2 The Lab Sightings Leave-Taking

From then on my eyes were laced with gold. There was no sight before me, no thought afterwards, that could escape the memory of that shining creature. The golden beast that had presented itself to me; mysterious yet comforting.
That familiar human crave for mastering swept over my ambitions once more. Hastily I gathered my materials, formulated my process. I were to replicate this perfect being, this alien. And with that replication would come the achievement of something spectacular.
Fiery gold filled my thoughts; the glowing color of a hundred suns. It was curious then, when my hand reached for something other than gold. A smile swept across my face puzzlingly as my eyes met with the cold of silver.

Chapter One

Cerphiel. What dark misfortunes led to your creation?
Where did I go wrong amongst my studies, to construct an abomination such as this? You, with your plated skin and frightening circuitry, sculpted solely by my own hand..
You; the mechanical monster, into whom I placed the very essence of life I spent years previously to chase down.
You, who slipped past my watchful eye and have since wreaked havoc in our world needlessly.
Do you not have knowledge of good and evil? Had I not been careful in my design?
Cerphiel. I can see fires on the horizons, and I know they belong to you. Your path of destruction has spread across the hemispheres. I've seen it on the broadcast; heard it on the frequencies. Cerphiel. With only as much as a shiver you tremble the cities around you.
I fear what more you're capable of.

Must I walk the ends of my days-- short as I foresee them-- in the horror of your impending brutal actions?
Cerphiel.
The bane of our existence.

Creation | Some Notes

Before it's death, there had once been a planet within Caapa's system that thrived unlike any other. The natural forces of life came to construct a world of incredible advancements. The animals and people that inhabited it became interesting to Caapa, and so he would break his boundaries as a creator and visit the planet on regular occasion to observe it more closely. A scientist encounters the golden animal and-- having never seen such a creature before-- grows amazed (and rather obsessed) with it. The scientist later goes to construct the prototype of a creature of his own-- its appearance based on that of the image of Caapa. The creation becomes Cerphiel; a virtually indestructible animal that is granted free will.
Underestimating Cerph's destructive capabilities, the scientist loses hold of his creation, and Cerphiel is released into the world that she was created upon but knows nothing about. Her engineered flaws lead to a selection of catastrophic instincts. One thing quickly leads to another and Cerph is eventually responsible for destroying the planet. This immediately makes her an enemy to Caapa, whose life support was abruptly disturbed thanks to Cerphiel's actions. Cerph, having escaped the dead planet, now resides in space along with Caapa, and it seems that the two find it impossible to see eye-to-eye.

Notes On Cerphiel

[detailed ref sheet to be added here]

? Cerphiel never speaks. It is unknown whether or not this ability is available to her and she just refuses to use it, or if she was created without a voice. Instead, her mode of speech has resorted to action and force.
?She does not know that she was created with the image of Caapa in mind. She is ever inferior. The truth seemingly perished with her human creator.

Cerphiel's tragedy is that she will forever mistake herself to be like Caapa. She will see that the creators share her image but, for a reason unknown to her, she will never belong with them. She will continuously seek out creators, and they will always reject her presence (mainly for their own safety and preferences, as Cerphiel is instinctually destructive and dangerous and threatens the prosperity of their systems). No matter how long she may search, Cerphiel will never find a place in which she will belong..
Unless she somehow manages to leave the seemingly endless web of solar systems, and enter the mysterious and dangerous realm of the creators...

Chapter 2

The Elites | Notes for now

What most others don't know/notice is that Cerphiel is actually quite intelligent. Her hidden intellect calls for a creature far different from the brute/mindless animal others claim her to be.
Glimpses of this (her twisted-intelligent thought) occur throughout time, oftenly during her destructive actions.
She acts on emotion and instinct, but these are mere tools she utilizes to push her premeditations forward.
Cerphiel's endless goal (following the tragic event on her home planet; more on that later when this stuff gets re-editted) is to establish an environment/find a home to which she can belong to.

Having assumed to be a loose-canon, her quest/migration to neighboring planets are suddenly prevented by Caapa-- the creator of the solar system which Cerph is now a part of-- who himself is desperate to preserve what's left of his system.
Cerphiel recognizes his motives, his thoughts, his authority, and his weakness. Angered by the restrictions imposed upon her by the golden creator, Cerphiel's mind twists and adopts the title of 'abomination', and the stubborn animal's quests are thwarted by a sudden motivation for destroying all of Caapa's system.

This war between elites (well, Caapa isn't exactly one for physical or forceful action, so instead he simply lures her away or frightens her off with each attempt; making the quarrel more of a chase if anything) continues on for a good fraction/length or Caapa's lifespan, as Cerphiel never seems to grow tired of her foolish pursuits.
Occurences happen from time to time where Caapa manages to trick her into entering bloack holes-- doors within space which lead to other systems watched-over by Caapa's peers. She fails to find solace in these as well, and proceeds to resurface her destructive habits: jumping from planet to planet, poisoning and destroying each like a viral infection. Several creators fail to keep as close watch/protection over their systems as Caapa does, and so they perish with their last remaining planet.

Interestingly enough, Cerphiel always manages to find her way back to Caapa. They share a strange link; him being the one her existence had been based upon. Caapa was, after all, her creator's muse.
If she were to find this out, one could only imagine how fueled the fire would become.

After the cunning Cerphiel manages to sneak into yet another planet and diminish nearly it's entire population, Caapa decides to take final action. Risking the destruction of the already struggling planet, Caapa enters it's atmosphere and quickly finds Cerphiel and faces her in a battle that is rather equally matched. (The indestructible Cerph attacks offensively, while Caapa repels her blows with his naturally impenetrable skin).
Caapa lures her away from the orbiting planets, towards a familiar exit which he himself has chosen to abandon long ago. With great effort, he manages to cast her into the wormhole where she ultimately finds herself in Caapa's home-realm.
(Caapa returns to nurture his planet, his creation.)

What awaits her in [apple think of a name for this world please, kthanksbye] is a harsh world; one that she finds, to her pleasure, is rather fitting for her capabilities and instincts-- unlike the frail creators.
Instead of retreating to the safe haven that is their solar systems each time danger looms, Cerphiel finds that (not only does she not initially have this trait but) she can hold her ground against her predators.
She begins to grow comfortable with this new reality; that she is/can be superior to the creators: those which have long resented her.
Her newfound authority pollutes her mind, giving her a false idea of belonging.

Sightings

Physical documents of the virus are incredibly difficult to come by. Any photographs believed to have been taken of the creature normally perish with planet itself. Without hard evidence, many people expel the idea of Cerphiel from their minds. At best they refer to her existence as a myth, conjuring spook stories of a hungry monster in the sky who waits for the opportune moment to strike the population. But determined believers are spread all across the map.

Here is our clearest telescope-photograph of what we believe to be Cerphiel:

The following are artists' representations of Mustav's creature, derived from lore and recited stories.
It has been rumored that Cerphiel's original form was bipedal, and that she had learned to contort her body into the form of a quadruped animal; a form that supposedly is more durable in the harsh environment of space.
