Half Blessing. Half Curse
My life has been pretty eventful up to now. I have had careers come and go, family members turn against me, I have been known as a 'half blessing, half curse'. It had happened 7 years ago, I had accidentally walked into the Haunted Woods, which was off-limits. I had gone to Neopia Central, to pick up some groceries, for my family, and missed the Fairy ride home to Mystery Island. So I thought if I walked maybe I would be able to catch the 5'o'clock Lost Desert Fairy ride to Krawk Isle. Little did I know that that thought would change my life forever.
I headed northeast from Neopia Central, and found myself in my Ixi homeland of Meridell. At this time the Darigan war was going, so I had no choice but to run into the Berry Fields, and find my mothers property. I watched as Supernovas were thrown at the Darigan Skeiths by brave Neopians, my family hadnt participated in the War. My mother had said that sending young Ixi's into the War was risk of endangerment of our species, so I had stayed far from Meridell as I could. My sister on the other hand, used most of her magic fighting the Darigan warriors. All my mothers savings had gone, from my sister stealing to fight. Though she later realized she was fighting on the wrong side of the law, which is a completly different story. My blue coat was showing through the fields, making me seem as hidden as spots on a Zafara. I had to abandon my familys groceries, in fear that they were slowing me down.
I ran to the pond up ahead, and saw a Fairy coming to shore. I waved silently and boarded the Fairy. Little did I know I was not going to Krawk Isle. The Fairy turned around and took me straight t'wards the Lost Desert, I panicked and hurried to speak with the Mynci that was running the Fairy. I asked him if this was the last round of the day. He nodded and told me to sit back or I was to be thrown overboard. So I found a seat and waited patiently for the Fairy to take us to the Lost Desert. About ten minutes later, I had fallen asleep.
While I was napping, the Fairy had reached the Lost Desert, and dropped me off at the border of the Lost Desert and the Haunted Woods, I was thrown off the Fairy and became unconcious. The only thing I can remember was two Lupes were standing over me, talking in a language that was unknown to me, one picked me up and threw me upon his back, I was helpless. I didnt know where the were taking me, and then I fell unconcious again. When I awoke I was on a cold cellar floor, as a green Zafara came near me. I noticed her immeadiatly as Edna the Witch of the Haunted Forest.
I was quite fasinated with her, I read all I could of her and researched much of her. For me, this would be as one of Sloths' many supporters, finally meeting him. I was speechless. The witch cackled, and I knew I wasn't safe. The old Zafara came near me, held out a goblet for me to drink.
I took it and looked at her. "Do you honestly expect me to drink this?"
The old witch answered in a cackling voice, "Yes my darling, I know much about you. I don't want to hurt you. Drink up.
I took her word for it since I was famished and drank until not a drip was left. It tasted horrible. And smelt even worse. The witch stood above me as I was weak beneath her and said an incantation that will forever haut me.
Half pet, Half woman, she drank the potion below me. Taking my word, as no one else has, I shall grant her with a spell. Half blessing, half curse. Forever in her memory, will this day always stand. Lovers, family members, and friends, shall all bethroughed under this blessing and curse. Whoever meets this pet, shall change in ways unknown to themselves. Head this warning, dearest Candy. Never get to close. I whimpered slightly, as a burn was placed into my front hoof. A purple star became my blessing. My curse, I was still yet to know of.
