Scuba diving in the ocean a few miles off the coast of Krawk Island doesn't sound very interesting, but when there is treasure to be discovered, that makes it all the more alluring.
Upon hearing of this great legend of sunken treasure, you decide to give it a try; who knows, you may find a few dubloons down there. You rent an underwater exploring suit, paying the owner 250 NP. He takes you on a small fishing vessel out to the open water where you prepare yourself to jump in.
Aye, it only be fair t' warn ye before ye jump on in. Many a diver has seen some sort o' creature down thar, so ye best be on yer guard... The captain would say to you just as you stepped on the edge of the boat.
1... 2... 3...
SPLASH!

As the air bubbles float away, you slowly sink to the bottom. The water is murky and you can see no more than a few feet ahead. The eerie water only helps your paranoia increase after what the captain said.
A creature..? I wonder what sort of creature...
As you make your way slowly across the barren sandy bottom, you keep a close watch for anything that might be moving. So far so good... or is it? You suddenly feel a tingle in your spine and you get the feeling you're being watched. You turn as quickly around as you can underwater to see if there is someone.. or something there. Nothing.
It's.. it's just my imagination... You think to yourself to help calm your nerves. Suddenly, you feel something brush against your back. You turn around again and see nothing.
Bump...
You feel it again and turn back around, but this time.. there is something there. You freeze in shock as you stare into the blank eyes of a... jetsam?

Whoooo are yooou..? It asks in a sad and echo-like tone. You try to answer, but realize your helmet keeps it from hearing you. It doesn't seem to mind that you can't be heard, or even notices for that matter. Light shimmers down from above on the jetsam and illuminates something on its head. You begin to realize that this jetsam has a harpoon impaled through its head and that it must be a ghost. Your heart begins to beat faster and faster as the dead jetsam circles around you.

You are the first to stay so long underwater with me... I have a memory I would like to share with you...
As much as you'd like to say 'no' and pull on the rope connecting you to the boat, you remain where you are in fear that this jetsam might react badly if you do.

Many centuries ago, people took part in a 'sport' called Samming. In this event, vessels filled with at least a dozen fishermen would set out to sea and hunt Flotsam and Jetsam because their meat were one of the more sought after delicacies in the world.
School of Flotsam and Jetsam were stalked until one ventured too far and became an easy target. The fishermen would load up a metal jagged spear and fire it at the staggering creature. If the target was hit, the fishermen would reel it in and store it away for when they return to land to sell it to a butcher.
I was still young when my school was soon stalked. I remember noticing fellow Jetsam disappearing and whenever I asked about them, everyone would say The less you know, the better.
Because no one would tell me what was happening, I had no way of knowing how to protect myself from these dreadful men.
One day, while my school was resting, I wandered off into the open water where I could find some fish where it was easy to see.. as well as easy to be seen. Little did I know there was a fishing boat only several hundred yards away from where I was.
I don't know how, but they spotted me and I heard the sound of a propeller stirring up the water. I turned to the sound of the direction and coming straight at me was a shining harpoon. I tried to turn away, but I wasn't quick enough and the harpoon struck me on the side of the head. Oddly enough, this harpoon was not fastened to a rope or wire and the fishermen were not able to pull me in, so my body sank to the bottom on the sea floor.
No one was able to do anything to help me so they fled for their own safety and let my body wear away and become food for the bottom feeders. My body maybe gone, but my spirit still wanders the open sea for any sign of my school...

Well, I learned a tidbit of the past and I got what I came down here for...
