Adults on Neopets...
Too often, adult Neopians are made to feel out of place or
weird for being older than the average demographic of Neopets. This can lead to a feeling of isolation on a site that provides hours of fun to over two-hundred million players of
all ages.
Caffeine! was created in an effort to counteract the sometimes negative stereotype of adults on Neopets, and adult guilds.
At Caffeine! we aim to provide a fun and open-minded environment where all adult players can enjoy the more refined, mature company of like-minded 18 & older Neopians.
But we also want to avoid the pitfall of becoming a slow-paced guild full of the very woes of adulthood we try to escape by playing Neopets...
The Caffeine! Difference
Our guild was built with our members' demographics in mind. We offer more than just a NeoRelated layout. Caffeine! is an
interactive community.
We proactively provide our members with a more fulfilling experience on Neopets through 1np auctions, activities, guild-teams, daily links, beauty-contest support, quest help, and so much more.
Additionally, we continually strive to improve our little guild family. We do our best to host monthly town-hall meetings (as time permits with busy schedules) where all members are invited to voice their opinions.
We welcome constructive thoughts in an effort to continue our growth as a community of fun, quirky adults.
Caffeine! welcomes anyone 18 or older who has a sense of humor, an open-mind, and hopeless addiction to Neopets!
Our invitation standards are not based on your gallery, prestige, or your Neopian Bank account. Neopets is a game that accepts players of all skill-levels, so why shouldn't a true NeoRelated guild?

Requirements
These requirements are in place to ensure Caffeine! is filled with mature Neopians who show the potential to become long-standing, active members.
Our guild requirements are not absolutes and certain exceptions may be made at the council's discretion.

6 Month-Old Account
Caffeine! is looking for long-standing Neopian adults who demonstrate dedication to their accounts and the site.
We have found that younger accounts tend to be quickly-made sides that go inactive after a few days of chatting in the guild.
If you've recently changed accounts, you can reference your old account in your questionnaire to verify your time on Neopets.

Signs of Established Playing
Our guild looks for key signs of established playing.
We're looking for any combination of a few of these: reasonable avatar collection (there are plenty of clickables), an operating shop or gallery, healthy/dressed pets (Neopoint customization is great!), games played, plot trophies and generally anything that indicates the account you're applying under is active.
Side Accounts are welcome, but they are held to the same standards for activity within Neopets T&C. You may not be able to play games or maintain a shop, but you can still customize your pets, design your userlookup, collect clickable avatars, and even own a gallery!

December 18th, 2007.
During a harrowing finals week, coffee was as vital as oxygen. It was during one sleep-deprived night when Toni was breaking from one essay or another to check her Neopets. Stopping by the guild-boards for her routine scoff at what guilds had become, she realized that she was tired of playing Neopets without interaction with people her own age. So the idea of a guild suddenly bloomed. Caffeine!
Once the guild was created, Toni invited new members to throw their textbooks in the garbage, drink some coffee, and enjoy the fellowship of an 18 & older guild.
Since opening, Caffeine! has grown by leaps and bounds. It has been a huge inspiration to see how much positive feedback the guild received. We've been through tough times, and each time we find a way to come back stronger.
And the rest is history.

Caffeine! Ranks
Snoozing;* C'mon sleepy-head! You've just joined Caffeine! so it's time to wake-up and pour yourself a cup of coffee or three.
Powering Up;* 200 Posts and you've been caught advertising. You're climbing the ranks so don't stop now! =)
Wide Awake;* 800 posts and you've definitely proven that you're not snoozing in the guild. You advertise, help new members, and take part in guild activities. Now you're walking the Caffeine! way.
Buzzing;* 1500 posts! You're definitely feeling the effects of the guild by now. You know the ropes, you know people by name...you probably even know their pets' names and some of their goals.
Caffeine Addict;* 3000 posts, but don't let that scare you. This is the most prestigious rank offered by Caffeine! You're an active, dedicated member. At this rank you are eligible to be elected a councilor or sub-councilor in the case of an open position.
Our ranks are subject to change, but members will be notified beforehand.
Helping the Guild
When new members join Caffeine!, many immediately neomail and ask, "Is there anything I can do to help?" Generally, most things are under control
BUT we always appreciate a helping hand. :)
There are a few things that Caffeine! ALWAYS needs help with. :D

Donation Items: We are always scouting for inexpensive items to stock the Coffee Shop. This includes small trinkets, and drink-related items. (Sometimes members will have some coffee, but forget to return their mugs!) Note* Donations are NEVER required.

Calendar Sweeping: We occasionally need someone with time on their hands to scout through the guild-calendar and erase Birthdays and Joining Anniversaries of people who are no longer members of the Caffeine! family.

Advertising: It's sometimes considered the "dirty job" of the guild-world. But with Caffeine!, it's really not. Advertising for us is simple - just make a board on the NeoBoards Guild-section. Make sure to give it a nice, attractive title (and don't forget to include that we're an 18 & Older guild...), then start the bump dance.
If you post the URL to your Bump-dance on our messageboard, more than likely other Caffeine! members will join in as well.
You can also help spread word about Caffeine! by posting a banner or button in your shop or profile~!
Donations
Contributions can be made through Caffeine!'s Coffee Shop, located
HERE. Various drinks and brickabracka can be purchased to help fund guild auctions and trades. Sound like fun? We think so !
If you feel so inclined, please return the item(s) to caffeine_guild after your purchase. This will help conserve our guild funds for better 1np auction items, Scruptious Sundays, and other various guild activities.
Caffeine! does NOT require donations of any form, though they are greatly appreciated.

What do you do for fun at Caffeine?
If you haven't already looked over our website, then keep on snooping! There are tons of things to do at Caffeine! We have 1np Auctions, daily-themes, activities, and we absolutely love to chat. We're a highly interactive guild, so you'll never have a dull moment with us.
Do you have "Newbie Packs"?
Nope! We don't need Newbie Packs to attract new members. =) Caffeine! wants to fill its ranks with active people who join because they like US, not the items we give.
How do I donate to the guild?
You can do this a few ways!
- Make caffeine_guild your neofriend (you don't have to be accepted for CG to appear on your friend-list) and send items directly over.
- Put items in a trading lot and neomail caffeine_guild with the lot number.
- Stop in for some coffee and a snack at caffeine_guild's shop.
Where are my donations going?
If you're worried that your hard-earned NP's are going to be wasted, let me assure you that they are going directly to benefit the guild.
We spend donated NP on fun items for 1np auctions, avatar items, bash party-favors, Scrumptious Sunday trades, and other guild-related events.
Does the council get a share?
No. Donations are used to buy fun gifts for members during bashes, and to fund the 1np auctions.
Why is Caffeine! only 18 & older?
It's a matter of personal preference. Neopets was created for people between the ages of 17-25. It just happened to attract a much younger crowd. For the adults who still play the site, sometimes we just like to get away from all of the Hannah Montana-talk. The site can be made more enjoyable when you can interact with people your own age. Caffeine! just brings many of us together in one place.
Why was my post deleted from the board?
Before you start posting, it's important that you understand our guild rules!
Your post won't be randomly deleted because we don't like your font. If your post disappears, it most likely means that you're breaking a rule. Make sure your posts are AT LEAST 2-lines long. Make sure you're not breaking Neopets rules with an inappropriate subject-matter. Make sure that your post isn't controversial and won't cause drama.
If you feel that your posts are disappearing unfairly, privately NM a council member. Don't throw a fit on the boards.
I joined! Can I have council!?
Our council positions must be earned. If you just joined and you expect to be handed a council-seat, GO AWAY. =)
Why do you have so many rules?
Because we like to ruin your day!(just kidding!)
Actually, we don't have that many rules considering that we are an Adult guild that prefers literacy on the boards. Our rules make things run smoother, and help clarify any sketchy issues. =) Our rules are meant to protect you and all other guild members.
Does Caffeine! have inactivity sweeps?
Yes we do, and they are frequent. Caffeine! is a highly interactive
community so by joining us, you are agreeing to be an active, participating member.
Sure, we understand that you can't be online everyday! And yes, things do come up from time to time. Real-life should be put first, so just let us know if you can't be around for a while and you won't be removed.
***However, if an account goes inactive in the guild for over a month without notification - it is subject to removal for inactivity. C'mon! We're a guild-family, not a place for you to park a spare account.

To make sure there is never a dull-moment around the guild, we have daily themes. There are specials things going on throughout the week, so don't forget to check them all out! ^^

Mondays:
Feeling generous? Donate a book to our guild's Book Club! Every Monday, a member will be randomly chosen to receive 10 donated books! You must donate at least one book to participate. Any leftover books will go towards the following Monday's Book Club. This event is completely optional and it's up to you if you want to participate. Please send all books to Tibytha. Thanks!
Tuesdays:
It's Tuesday Talk time! Wow, talk about a tongue twister! Hehe. Today is dedicated to all you chatterboxes out there. We want to get to know everyone so chat till your heart's content! *points in the direction of the guild message board*
Wednesdays:
Every Wednesday, things get a little wacky around Caffeine! This works very much like Book-Club Monday, but we throw toys instead of books. Trust me...plushies are MUCH softer on the noggin' than books.
This event is completely optional, but if you'd like to participate - send a toy to

Thursdays:
Are you a Avatar Collector? Do you live, breathe and sleep Avatars? If you do and have a good amount or just love playing Avatar Simon, then this day is just for you! So get your fanny on the Guild Message board, gather your fellow guildies and get a game started!!
Fridays:
Food Fight!!! Get ready to toss some food items at your fellow guild members. We are not responsible for any injuries that may occur during this event. Please toss at your own risk!
Make sure you fight fairly. ;) If someone is pelting you, make sure you're not just sending the food right back to them. Part of the fun is the mystery of what you're going to get hit with. Oh, and no throwing jellies or fish, as they make the floor too slippery!
Saturday:
This day is dedicated to just sitting back and relaxing, whether it be here on Neopets or in real life, so enjoy yourself and try not to relax too hard ;)

Trades, grab some a complementary treat from Caffeine! Sit back and enjoy!! Please remember that trades are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis.
The Auction House
Ladies and gentlemen, please hurry and have a seat. Have your paddles at a ready, as the Caffeine! auctions are always going.
On our auction block we have an emporium of miscellany just waiting to be taken home by you. Our auctions are fully-funded by the guild, and hosted by our activities committee.
Be sure to read over our guidelines before you begin bidding, and have tons of fun.

- To participate, you will need to be a NeoFriend of the current Auction Host.
- You must be ranked Powering Up or higher.
- Be an active participant in other aspects of the guild. (i.e - Don't let our auctions be your only interaction with the guild.)
- You are welcome to bid on multiple lots, but please make sure you have the lead-bid on no more than two lots at a time.
- After two successful wins, please wait one or two days before playing again. :) We want everyone to have a chance!

Caffeine! occasionally needs help hosting a page that requires regular updating and maintanance.
We look to our members for assistance in this manner.
Hosting a page for our guild is both an opportunity and a job!
Hosting allows you to contribute to the guild, but it also requires your dedication for regular maintenance and updates.
Requirements for Hosting Eligibility
- Rank Powering Up or higher.
- Be a member of C! for at least 2 months.
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of CSS/HTML.
- Foreseeably host on the same petpage for 6 Months
(In an effort to avoid constantly moving pages, please be able to update/maintain what you're hosting at the same URL for at least 6 months.)
Also verify that, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, you can dutifully keep the page updated on a regular basis.
Please DO NOT offer to host a page if you do not meet the requirements above, or if you cannot afford the time and effort to host it properly.
