Dillon Charles Barton
The Basics
Name: Dillon Charles Barton
Age: 17
D.O.B.: July 22nd
Gender: Male
Power: Electric Manipulation
His Power
Electric Manipulation
Dillon can generate and propel charges of electricity ranging from minor to fatal voltage. He can also manipulate the magnetic fields between himself and other people or objects by negatively or positively charging the fields. Dillon isn't usually harmed by electrical currents that he has created himself, although he can shock himself if he attempts to generate arcs under unfavorable circumstances. (for example, Dillon tried to create an electrical arc while standing in the rain and caused a sort of explosion). He can shock people or objects upon touch so he is usually cautious. Dillon does not have the ability to absorb electricity, so if someone shot electricity at him, he wouldn't be able to absorb the energy. One of his special talents is molding his metal bracelet into a rod and charging electricity into that to deploy a more controlled and precise shock.
He doesn't normally use his powers. Voluntarily, at least. Practically the only time he's used them is in defense (he was mugged a couple times). Either way, he tries his hardest to suppress his ability. Dillon's power affects his surroundings, particularly himself. Usually when used, he gets massive headaches (though many doctors say that it's from the explosion and mental stress from the event) that lead to him falling and often blacking out from pain. A trivial affect from his power is that is can make his hair spiky from static. Almost every time Dillon touches metal, fuzzy things, or people, he gets a static shock. Dillon has little or no control over his power. He has a knack for shocking people (minor to sometimes fatal voltage) when make contact with his skin. Dillon sometimes has spurts of uncontrolled energy and will often create blackouts. His power is a not something to be proud of. Mutants are doomed to a life as strange beings with their "gifts". He is not special in anyway. Dillon is ashamed of his lack of control and never shows it off.

Psychology
Though Dillon isn't one to crack jokes, he has a knack for making witty remarks out of nowhere. His view is that he's making obvious observations, and that they're just dry comments. Dillon's motivation is constantly changing. He'll be determined to do things one day, then the next he'll lay in bed, numb from memories of the past. One of Dillon's fears is that he'll always hurt others with his powers. This fear constantly keeps him in check, and helps add to his cold and aloof manner. Dillon's only secret is that he killed his brother. He has told no one, and this secret has always festered in his soul. Dillon is pessimistic. He has little hope in life. With Dillon's compassion and self-deprecation, most of his actions rely on his feelings instead of thought.
History
Dillon Charles Barton was born a beautiful baby boy in Derby, Colorado. He was the first child of Thomas and Emily Barton, who adored their first son. Dillon had a lovely and perfect early childhood, growing up with the normal family. At 2 years of age, his brother, Nick William Barton was born. His parents rejoiced for their second baby boy. This is when, if you can imagine, the trouble began. The brothers grew up hand in hand, outwardly fine. Though there always seemed to be a shadow of disgust on Dillon's face, there was never a problem. At age 5, a therapist declared that Nick had Sneaky Anger. Nick never let others know he was angry. Sometimes, he didn't even know how angry he was. But the anger came out in other forms, such as forgetting things a lot, or saying he'd do something, but never intending to follow through. Or, he sat around and frustrated everyone, including his family. Nick often looked hurt and innocent and would ask, "Why are you getting mad at me?" He gained a sense of control over his life when he frustrated others. By doing little or nothing, or putting things off, he thwarted other people's plans. His family didn't know what to do with him. The boys grew up, disciplined and kept under careful watch. As always, Dillon glared at Nick, as if blaming him for the world's troubles. Back then, there was a boom of children with "gifts" and the government declared that these kids be treated normally, for fear of discrimination. Dillon started his sports career swimming and playing soccer. Nick, however, seemed to have social problems, and ended up spending most of his time at home. Years went by, family of four having the normal life. Dillon, the blond angel who had trouble in school, but excelled at sports. And there was Nick. People seemed to have trouble remembering him. At age 7, the family discovered his power; fire manipulation. Emily and Thomas, amazed their family was given this gift, treasured their little boy. Dillon, on the other hand viewed this in a different light. It was a disgrace. The younger child with issues was cursed with this "power", and Dillon would have nothing of it. At age 10, Nick had his first offense. He set the classroom on fire. Dillon, embarrassed by his brother's lack of control, took a different tact of ignored Nick. Dillon continued into high school, star of the tennis team and placing a school record in track and field. His school and social life however, fell a little short. Nick brought up the rear, having trouble with his powers. He grew more violent and starting having outbursts; his control over his anger was dwindling. He was burning things. Even people.
Then there was the fateful day. The one that turns someone's life around and starts the new life. Nick burst into flames; in the living room in their home. The perfect family was in flames. It's unclear what set him off, but Nick exploded into fire. As the room was in flames, Emily and Thomas ran into the room. Nick turned and glared at his parents, all control or love gone, and shot fire at them. This is when Dillon's power was discovered. When he heard the crashing in the living room, Dillon raced down the stairs just in time to see Nick throw the fire. Suddenly, a power surged through Dillon and he threw out his hand. Electricity shot through the air and intercepted the fire. It triggered an explosion. The entire room blew out, collapsing the house. Everyone was thrown a dozen feet, and the house started to fall apart. Dillon groaned and slowly got to his feet. He had minor injuries except a roaring headache that threatened to make Dillon collapse with pain. He staggered over to where his parents lay, trying not to step on charred rubble, or breathe in the black smoke. He knelt next to his dad, and sighed when we saw both of his parent's chests moving up and down as they breathed. With abnormal strength, he slowly dragged them out of the collapsing house and onto the street. After using his cell phone to call 911, Dillon staggered back into the fallen house, looking for Nick. He saw him near what was the door to the kitchen and ran over. He knelt next to his brother as Nick groaned and opened his eyes. He saw Dillon; his eyes shocked and scared, and tried to get up. Dillon, suddenly filled with rage put his hand on Nick's chest to push him back down. That same strange power raced through Dillon's body and down his arm. Dillon's eyes widened with shock as the electricity ran past his hand and into Nick's body. Nick suddenly started shaking, his eyes rolling back and his mouth opening into a silent scream. His shuddering stopped, and Nick fell back, unmoving. Dillon killed his brother.
The next few hours were a blur. The police, fire department and ambulances arrived, attending his parents. Dillon left the house, numbly walking down the street. After a few miles, Dillon came to a hotel where he stayed the night. The next day, he went to the nearest ATM. He took out 1,000 dollars from his account, stuffed it into his pocket and left the town. He currently travels across Colorado, staying in the occasional hotel or vacant house, making money on jobs he can get at the town he stays in.
