Welcome

-^~.:♥:.~^-

Hey there!" You hear a voice chime. "Nice to have visitors once in a while." Leaves rustle, and you turn to see a white shape in the form of a mare. She looks delicately built, not exactly skinny, just petite. But looks can be deceiving. "How do you do?" she asks politely, smiling, her blue eyes twinkling. "I'm... fine..." you say in return, feeling quite at home in this small foresty place. "What's your name?" she asks. "Oh, sorry." you say, "My name is guest. What's yours?" You look into those deep blue eyes. "Oh haha, sorry, mine is Clare0960, but of course, you can call me Clare =D" You look around, and notice familiar small white flowers sprouting up with zigzag-y leaves everywhere. The green grass grows up in even shoots, and doesn't seem to be affected by all the trampling.

She catches you looking. "Oh haha." a small blush creeps up on her features. She tosses her pink forelock out of her dazzling blue eyes. "Wondering what those are?" she laughs, voicing your thoughts. "Strawberry plants..." she gives you a sheepish smile. "Yeah,I'm a bit of a strawberry fanatic." Giggling nervously, she paces around. You notice her pink stockings somewhat have sand clinging to them. "Is there a beach nearby?!" you ask somewhat incredulously." She cocks her head. "Ahaha, why not? Everything's nearby once you think of it. I mean, sure, the sun's farther than anything on earth." Clare winks. "Im just kidding with you, the nearest beach is this way." She turns to lead the way, and looks back. "Coming?"

You're caught off guard, a puzzled look on your face. "Um sure, why not." you agree, following after the mare's retreating footsteps. "Hey! WAIT UP FOR ME!!!!!!!!" you call. Suddenly you trip over a small something. The soft grass cushions your fall, and you wind up without any scratches or bruises. "Whats up back there?" Clare calls, her fading pink feathered wings visible from behind a few trees. "I fell!" you yell. "Over what?" she comes back around. You look around, but there's nothing but grass. "Eh?" you look around again, frazzled. "B-but... I'm pretty sure there's something here!!!" you start to feel very paranoid. Clare's looking very amused. "Fluffy?" she calls. "Come on, you hafta stop doing this to our visitors!!!" Oh, so thats what it was... oh wait, FLUFFY? what's a fluffy?! You start to panic. A pink spotted feepit appears out of nowhere, right next to you. You jump, letting out a startled yelp. She's trying hard not to laugh. "Fluffy...what did I say about tripping our guests?" Clare scolded lightly. The feepit sulks. "I didn't trip guest..." she scoffs, "What, you think I want to hurt myself?" she glares, dissappearing again. You get up, ridding yourself of grass blades. Wow, that was some trauma. You may be traumatized for life, but you just like being dramatic=).

Come now, guest!" Clare nudges you. "We've a long way to go if you want to really reach that beach." she laughs. "Yeah... Thank god its only early morning here." Smiling, she goes on. "Wait!" you call. "Can you tell me something about yourself?" She pauses. "Wait, you want my life story?" she asks. You nod. "Why not? It'll give me something to do..." she thinks. "It's not a lot, but this forest is my home and we'll be passing through a lot of stuff, I'm pretty sure there will be enough time to see everything before we get to the beach." She grins.

My Past

-^~.:♥:.~^-

Her smile is still there, but her eyes grow a little dimmer. There is a bit of sadness in there, they lose some of their sparkling. "All I have of my parents now is this necklace right here..." Her voice breaks a little. She swallows, guesturing to the gold heart charm on the sky blue string around her neck. "It was my mothers..." Clare takes a deep breath, tossing her mane out of her eyes. "My mother had a pure white coat, and a very light pinkish silver mane and tail. She had no wings or a horn, she was born without them. The raiders took her when she was just a young mare. They saw her as a source of money, and auctioned her off in some small suburban city. A kind man bought her, seeing the sadness in her eyes. He raised her on his huge horse ranch but she yearned to be free, no matter how grateful she was to that man. She was a wild horse at heart, and would not let them break her spirit. She refused to be ridden, and refused all the dumb lazy stallions they brought to her. They gave up on her and she was able to freely roam around at her own will.

One night the man taking care of the stables had gone home for the night, and had left her door unlatched. Curiously, she pushed the door with her nose and walked out of the stables, without a second look back. Here was her chance at freedom. She walked towards one of the pastures and just squeezed through the hole in the broken fence. And at long last, she was free. There was no way she was going back to that ranch. Gallopping for miles on end, she reached a stream at the end of day three, thoroughly lost." Clare paused, looking at you. "Are you sure you're not asleep yet?" You shake your head. "Not unless I'm sleepwalking with my eyes open o.O" She laughs. "Okay, thats good." Taking a deep breath, she continues. "At the other side of the stream, there was a small herd of horses, all wild. They had horns upon their heads, and wings too. She was afraid, but also awed at the sight. Suddenly a whinny rang out, and a golden brown stallion approached her. 'Who goes there?' he had called to her. She walked towards him, head held high. 'Me' She said simply. He was awed at her boldness, falling in love with this mare who finally caught his eye at last. Her heart burned for his, but she was untrusting. These were strangers, and she was sure that they would probably kill her at a moment's notice, with their horns, and then fly away. The stallion sensed her fear, explaining to her that they were unicorns, and that their horns were only used for healing. She threw away all the doubt wrapped around her like a heavy cloak that day, and let them embrace her as a member of their herd. Her young heart was unmarked, full of trust for this stallion who had made her stay so interesting.

They confessed their love to each other, and had a small ceremony to celebrate. And a year later, during flood season, I was born..." She gulped, looking misty-eyed. "When the floods came, I was only a small foal, just about a week old, my dad says. The herd had a minute's notice before the water came rushing in on them. My father galloped towards us just as the water hit. Our little wood house was knocked over, and my mother and I were stranded on the overturned roof. It floated farther and farther away from where the rest of the herd was flying towards. It was too late to get them. He tried to help my mother, but it was no use. In agony, she cried for him to take me and leave her. I opened my eyes and cried out for her, and she took off her necklace and gave it to me. Whenever I needed her, she said, I should wear it and rub it, and that it contained her presence. For, even though my mom wasn't a unicorn, she still had her powers. Though they had stayed hidden for a long time, and it was now too late for her to make use of them." Clare sniffled, a tear or two falling from a blue eye. "She was washed away, as my father and I made our way towards the higher ground, as the water grew higher and higher by the foot with every passing minute. Strangely enough, we still felt her presence, my father and I. 'Look!' my father had shouted, eyes widening, a golden shine lighting up his face. I looked down, where his gaze was, and saw the amulet she gave me was shining. My mother's voice, like a small echo in our ears, 'I love you both...' and then it was dull again, and I knew she was gone. I was young, too young to understand what was really happening. All I knew was that this amulet was magic, and that my mother, dear heart, was gone for good..." Another tear trickled down her face.

My father wept for days, for this had broken his heart into a billion pieces, having lost the love of his life. Sometimes he dreamed of her beautiful face, and I would wake up to not see him sleeping besides me, but instead after looking around, I would see him gazing at the stars, and with tears in his eyes, he told me her story, and their story. Now I think, there's always a tiny piece of my heart missing, because my mother is gone, but I still have this amulet..." she looks down on it. "To remember her by..." Her eyes are sad, rimmed a little with red. "I.. I still miss her..." She shakes her head. "I just long to see her again...But there's no chance of that happening..." You pat her reassuringly. "What happens next?" She sighed, "What always happens... One day I woke up and my dad wasn't there. Neither was the herd. In fact... I was in some strange place. Like I had been teleported somewhere I didn't even know. I never saw my father or the herd again... They might just be alive out there... I dont know..." Sighing, she kept walking. "I saw this glowing bottle, and I raced towards it, hoping it would be something important. It was a faerie, but a different one from any faerie I had seen. I uncorked the bottle, and the faerie came out, smiling, and blessed me. She glowed pink, and was entirely decked out in pink, too. My small horn glowed pink for a moment, then turned back into gold. My mane and tail grew to be a light pink in color, and my wing feathers turned hot pink." She rustled her feathers in turn and cracks a smile at you.

My Family

-^~.:♥:.~^-

Walking on, you reach a thick tree of some sort. The bark is dark with age, and you can't exactly recall the type of this tree, as it looks so strange and unfamiliar, yet looks safe. Ah, you reach an understanding that this is a sanctuary of some sort. "This is my family photo tree." She says simply, and you notice that there are indeed framed pictures hanging off each branch.

Gesturing to the first picture, she said, "That's my guardian, Rose. There's her in her fursona form, as a purple fox," she laughs a little at the thought. "She's pretty kind, but sometimes loses her temper... well she loses her temper a lot... then ... I guess you can say she has a lot of violent mood swings." Clare laughs, looking thoughtful and amused. "She's a nut. Totally insane."

That's my adopted sis," Clare continues, pausing at a photograph of a blue cybunny. "I call her Andie... I love her to bits. Even though she's a cybunny, she loves to battle, well... bad guys anyway, so she's more of the protector in this adopted family of mine." She smiles before moving on.

That's my adopted bro, Ozzie." She says, pointing to a framed photograph of a zafara. "He's basically the brains of this family, and he sits around and reads books all day. He's really smart, and knows a lot of stuff. I think his idol is Sarah the Zafara, but I think he knows way more than that silly little zafara could ever learn..." she smiles. "Besides, she only knows everything about Neopia.."

She continues on down the bend of the tree, "And here's my youngest sister, Queenie. She's real cool, and can give you a quote for almost any situation. It sometimes gets annoying, but it's really helpful when you need some insight, once in a while." Clare grins. "Haha.."

You come across another picture of a beautiful young mare. "Who's that?" you ask. She smiles bigger, "That ... is my daughter... Jeana." You start to see the resemblance... sorta... with all the hearts. "I think I spoiled her a bit too much, but she's the best little girl in the world..." she pauses, looking sheepish. "But then thats what every mother says of her child..." she shrugged.

Hey, and who's that handsome boy?" you find yourself eyeing another picture, this time of a young stallion. "Wait... don't say anything... he's your son isn't he?" you say intelligently. Clare laughs. "Yeah, he's my son=), Brien. Loves stargazing. We still see each other once in a while, as he doesn't live with me anymore."

Moony..." She looks wistfully at the photo of a handsome stallion. "He is? was? my lover... I really miss him, haven't seen him in the longest. I really must get out more." Looking thoughtful, she shrugs, and walks on without another word, down a winding path.

My Friends

-^~.:♥:.~^-
After a while you and her reach another tree, this one with light colored bark and tall. You get the sense that it is also very old, and maybe even magical, as you feel a sort of essence pulsate as you get closer, not an unpleasant feeling. "This is my tree of friends." She smiles, looking up into the blossoming branches. They remind you a little of cherry blossoms, yet they were not quite the same. "Ah friends..." she sighs, recalling the past. "They come and go, but the ones that stay are the true angels. If you are true, you will not count your friends, because quantity is inferior to quality." You glance up at the tree and notice that it does not have photos like the family tree. Wow. You feel enlightened by this knowledge.

Likes and Dislikes

-^~.:♥:.~^-
You follow Clare down a bend in the trail and at one side there are two twin trees. One tree stands tall and bright, with golden leaves and a slight aura emanates from it. She points with her nose to it. "That, guest, is a tree dedicated to all I like." she says. On it, you see many strawberries hanging from various branches, seemingly growing on them. Ah what? Strawberries! On trees! How absurd! But you see the proof, right in front of you. Also there is a list stuck to the bark of the tree. You walk in for a closer look. "Nice people, friends, fun, strawberries, jewelery, being a girl, strawberries, having a good time, love and hugs, and strawberries. And fanart. But who doesn't love fanart?" You read, laughing a bit at the last part. after all it is true.

Another tree right next to it has very dark bark, and looks gnarled and the branches are twisted. There are no leaves, and it made the tree look like it had a lot of fingers just waiting to reach out and snag you. You back away a little. "And um, that's the not so likeable tree." She smiles uneasily. Carved into the bark, it reads, scammers, hackers, ignorance (It is not an excuse), boastful people, smelly things, and floods. You puzzle at the last one, finally connecting it to her past.

Makeables!! =D

-^~.:♥:.~^-

Walking on you reach a pile of what seem to be templates. The sign next to it reads, 'Makeables'. "Rose couldn't keep up with the demand so she decided to let everyone make their own." Clare explains simply. "She also reminds people to ONE: Keep her username on the template, TWO: NEVER EVER EVER enter it in the BC, and THREE: to ALWAYS link back. Or give credit somewhere. Linking back to my page would be nice." She smiles. You hold the pieces of paper up to the light. She adds, "They may look squished but if you right click and copy the image they should be back to their original size."

They don't have horns or wings," She says apologetically. "However she fixed it so that you can add them yourself. As for the coloring problem, she has fixed the lines so that they are cleaner and no longer have the grainy gray dots." You take a few, remembering the rules, and follow Clare once again.

ToyBox

-^~.:♥:.~^-
On and on down the winding path, passing a golden beach. There lays a shovel on the dip of a sand dune, and you head towards it, screaming with glee. "YOU WERE RIGHT! THERE REALLY IS A BEACH HERE!!!!" You let out a whoop of joy. Clare laughs her tinkling laugh, smiling and says, "What are you waiting for?" You grasp the handle of the shovel and start digging where some pebbles mark out an "X". After some time you hear a clunk as the shovel hits something and you wipe off the excess sand. It's a treasure chest of some kind. Lifting it out (whoa its heavy) , you push open the top. It slides open easily and inside are many different versions of Clare. "Yup." she says. "My toy box of adoptables." Smiling as always. This is what you see: "Here are some of the ordinary colors," Clare says.

And here are some that look like me. Some are makeables but mostly they are customs that others did for me. Thank you because they are all marvelously beautiful." she adds.

Clare smiles, "If you find anymore or wish to donate, go right ahead, you're very welcome!" You nod and replace the chest in the sand. Magically it buries itself and the rocks reassemble on top of the spot. You stare in wonder.

My Award

-^~.:♥:.~^-
Further along the cave you see a big glass case with a light cast on it. It reads: The Strawberry Heart Award. Whoa... so shiney you reach out to touch it but hit glass. Ouch. Clare chuckles softly, "Nice to know Fluffy's been doing her part," she remarks of the shiny glass. "So, is this for free?" you ask. "Oh no, guest, this is for those who really deserve it, who have put enough time into their pages so that it shows." She says. "To win this, you must have:

A nice neat layout where everything is in the right place.

Less than two sections not finished.

Attractive, and easy to read.

At least 5 pictures that the owner has drawn of the pet.

Original ideas

No Stolen Work!!! Ugh I cannot stress that enough!"
She continues, "Yes this is a hard award to get, so dont get mad when Rose tells you that your pet's page didnt make it. Note: Rose doesn't care how long your story is, if it's not good, or stolen, then of course you're not gonna get the award. Try again, and please read criteria before you submit an application." You gaze at it in wonder, as it lightly hovers in the case.

Peek?

Trophies

-^~.:♥:.~^-
Further along, she has a lovely but huge trophy cabinet, and this makes your eyes pop out further from your sockets. "Never in my life! So many awards!" You gasp. Snickering, Clare whispers to you that a lot of the awards are free but that there are still, quite a few good awards."

Goodbye!

-^~.:♥:.~^-
Walking down the rather dark tunnel you suddenly realize that there is light once more. On a small desk near the exit of the tunnel you see a small stack of colored squares. You pick one up and examine it. It has Clare's image on it. "A patch?" you question. "Very good, guest, you may take one if you ever want to come back."

-^~.:♥:.~^-

Patchwork Quilt

-^~.:♥:.~^-
On another wall you notice a very colorful quilt hanging there. More portals! More fun! You rub your hands/hooves/paws/claws in glee. "I hope you have had fun!" Clare says, "and please, come back soon!" You nod, and touch gently one of the patches sewn together, swirling around until you reach your next destination.
