GUILD POST
Heya all :) Just wanted to post because I haven t in a while, and it looks like I ll be being slow to post for the next month or so too, so don't be angry with me!
My pet goldfish is on his last fins, unfortunately, so I ve been a bit preoccupied, but it looks lke his struggle will be over soon which is pretty sad, but probably also the best thing for him right now, as he's been ill for a while
On the bright side, it looks like a shop in town is going to sell my bears for me so hopefully I can make some money for Uni that way. I ve also started compiling a list of postage costs, so I ll be on the net soon, which is exciting, but first I must study! Exams are in may, bt they're BIG, and every mark is important, sadly, so thats why I m being a little neglectful :(
Rachel, I think there's an old neopets comic in my scraps on DA: would that do?
Its driving me insane. I have really learned to appreciate apostrophes.
lol, too right XD
I never quite understood exactly what she did. Only that she was mean to Sarah & Faith.
Me too. she asked if she could borrow the money for the adam av when we were doing it in NAA, you know? AFTER she left.
I originally intended to stop when she got to 200hp anyway and morph/paint her, and shes at almost 300 now. what do you guys think?
:) She looks good. why not get the rest with coltzan and codestones?
speaking of the secret lab map, finally thanks to the lab ray all my pets are painted
You know, its weird... I have it, and yet NONE of my main pets are lab painted :P
Couldn' work out what was wrong, so there you go :P
He remembered the warmth of the Nest, and the heart beat of the mother beside him. Then cold, and fear of his external world, and having to fumble blindly in search of his parents. Nothing.
Brynali could not remember his eventual capture, or the events leading up to his life in the forests with the gentle Tashlan, but occasionally, after a bad night's turning, he caught flashes of the dream that reminded him of all he had come from, and all he had left behind.
Groaning slightly, the young Krawk sat up and stretched, yawning widely. Today was the day of his Development: he was going to the Great Caves to seek answers and strength from the Power Within. He had been with his faithful guardian, Tashlan, for over 15 years now, and finally she thought him ready for the task ahead. Blinking sleep from his eyes, Brynali pushed himself out of bed for an early morning dip in the camp pool: that should help him wake up at least.
Despite the early hour, the Camp was already a hive of activity, with Middle Krawks busying themselves with their days chores and the young Little Krawks tumbling over each other in the rush for breakfast. He spotted Tashlan at the breakfast tables, busy wiping porridge covered snouts and and answering the usually early morning rush of questions with a smile. Through cries of 'Tash, can I go to the caves today?' 'TASH, he's biting me!!' and 'If I eat enough porridge will I explode?', Brynali indicated to her that he was leaving the camp to visit the small lake nearby; only trusted Krawks were allowed to leave the site without her.
Waving her assent, Tashlan turned back to the table of heaving, splattered hatchlings before her. "I expect we'll join you before long!" She called after him, as the brown Krawk she had raised from the age of those in front of her now let himself out.
Swimming slowly through the pool calmed Bryn, and cleared his mind to let him think. As the water swept over his streamlined form he thought to himself: 'today is the day I join the Elders'. No Krawk was allowed to talk of what happened within the caves dark embrace with any other who had not yet passed the Trials: he had no idea what to expect. All he knew was that, upon finding the central cave, he would be assessed and developed for his life ahead. He had seen, in the company of Tashlan, Middle Krawks enter the cave gangly and quad legged, and leave it proud and upright, needing neither stick nor support to maintain their steady walk. This was what Bryn longed for; although his Lower form could at least walk upright for short distances, he longed for the height and strength the Caves could give him, and envied those who had already passed through.
His musing was cut short, however, by the raucous arrival of seventeen sticky hatchlings plunging into the pool at his side. Lazily swimming over to them he laughed as they all moved back towards the bank, with pleading cries of 'I'm clean!' Tashlan however, was taking none of it. Years of experience saw her dropping the escapees back into the pool, with instructions to scrub behind their claws or brush their teeth. Brynali disappeared as the hatchlings swarmed over him, pleading him to make a break for it before they were washed to death: "Please Bryn, save us!" cried a little white female, barely a month old. "The Great Lake Monster might get us!"
Laughing, Bryn submerged, diving down to the depths of the pool where the 'Great Lake Monster' lived. Shaking his friend awake he winked at her, the sleek mammal catching on immediately. They rose together, the 'monster' aiming right for the center of the huddled Hatchlings. "ROOOARRR!!!" She cried, gathering the babies into her arms. "I EAT PORRIDGY BABIES!!!" Shrieking with fright the Hatchlings quieted as she submerged, immediately beginning to scrub themselves clean. Brynali chuckled as he swam to shore, listening to the arguing babies as he reached Tashlan at the bank. "You know, it never ceases to amaze me that our Hatchlings haven't caught on yet," she mused, as she handed Brynali a towel. "Not that I mind of course; otherwise nothing short of me wading in and finishing the job would get them clean. Be sure to invite Philanthea back to the camp again, won't you? I'd like to thank her in person."
She thinks it will ruin the illusion, and she's thankful enough for the food any way. The last time I spoke to her she told me that the porridge from them had been plumping up the fish: she doesn't has to hunt every day now." Brynali was impatient. "When are we going to the caves?"
Calm down Bryn, they won't disappear," she smiled, but at his look of despair she gave in. "As soon as I can get these Little Ones herded up and back home, we'll set off.
Back at the camp, Brynali set about amusing the Little Krawks, handing them over to another elder as soon as Tashlan beckoned. Skin electric with excitement, he joined her for the journey that would bring him to his Development: from then on he was on his own.
I don't want to alarm you," said Tashlan quietly, "but there are some basic rules about what you can and can't do whilst you're in the caves. Firstly, speak only with respect and complete honesty whilst you are in there."
What? Speak? It's a cave, who am I speaking to?" Asked Brynali, his interuption a mark of how truly anxious he was.
I can't tell you, Bryn. I can only tell you what I have told the others, and what I myself discovered when I first entered there." She looked towards him kindly: "Don't worry so much! You were so looking forward to this!"
Secondly, don't ask any of your stupid questions whilst you're in there, and don't linger once you are told to leave. Yes, told." She added, as he turned to ask yet another of his infamous questions. "And Thirdly, when we get to the mouth of the cave you must remove anything which has been in direct contact with your friend from the lake."
