Scammer Awareness
Everytime you look on the boards, there is at least one "Scammer Alert" board. Here are the most recent scams with avi items and how to avoid them.

Scam #1: You're chating a board that is said to be lending a FQD. The lender asks you to neomail them with 5 reasons why you should be lent. You do so, and later they reply: "Your account looks trustworthy enough. Please don't steal Just send me one item so I have SOME type of collat and then I will send you the doll. When your done with her, just send her back. Thanks.
STOP. Take a look at that again. "send me one item so I have SOME type of collat and then I will send you the doll." Didn't Neo say to always trade via the trading post?
What the scammer is trying to do: Have you send an expensive item so they can sell it for np. They never send the other item, if they even have it.
How to avoid: ALWAYS trade via the trading post. If they can't agree to trade the item and your colat safely, they probably jsut want your item.

Real Stories
Story #1: I was on a Free FQD Lending board. The lender posted to neomail her, so I did:

Me:Um, hello. You posted on your lending board to neomail you, so...here I am! ^^ Should I ramble of why I'm trustworth, or no? It's your choice. xD
Her:Please give me five reasons why I should lend to you.

Ok, ok, makes sence, I though. I sent my reasons to her. She then replied:

Her: Your account looks trustworthy enough. Please don't steal Just send me one item so I have SOME type of collat and then I will send you the doll. When your done with her, just send her back. Thanks
Me: Wow. Thanks alot. How much should the item be worth?
Her: Whatever YOU think is fair
Me:Can you set up a trade then? I have a Christmas Rock as colat, but I just want to do it through a trade to be safe.
Her: You don't have anything to worry about. I'll send it to you as soon as last person who borrowed returns it.

Riiight. Luckly I was smart enough to see what she was doing, so I told her 'thanks, but no thanks'. Later, while lurking the AC, I spotted a Scammer Alert board. It was about the same lender. Turns out she tried to scam a lot of people with the same method. Good thing I was smart and didn't fall for the trick. -_-;;
