May 06;Wow. Sorry guys, I started this directory when I was home sick for SIX WEEKS, so now that I am back at school I am swamped with make up work and make up tests and -drum roll- FINAL EXAMS! So neopets has been put on hold for the next few weeks but I will be on daily/every other day, even if its just for 10 minutes. Once schools out I will do the directory part and finish the worthy petpet part. :D Enjoy what there is to enjoy so far! More coming soon!

About Marshmallows

Marshmallows In Space was created on April 15, 2008. I had been wanting to make a pet directory for quite some time after i realized how unique and helpful they were. So I started thinking of some pet ideas. Every idea I thought of already had at least 2 or more directories! I kept thinking, I really wanted to do it about some unique, special, and rare pet. Then I thought of the Mallow Grundos! Perfect! I have only come across one other directory and it was just an idea that I could not resist! So i set to work and researched ALL the Mallows and information.

Want a Mallow Grundo?

So you want a little marshmallow of your own? Well getting one isn't that easy. There isn't a marshmallow paint brush, or any food that will turn your pet mallow, not even a morphing potion. Well then how do i get one? Glad you asked! Here are the three ways you can have one of the cutest neopets out there;

The Fountain Faerie

The Fountain Faerie is capable of giving a Faerie Quest (sometimes referred to as FFQ), which is rarer than normal Faerie Quests. Like other Faerie Quests, the only way to receive it is through a Random Event. The items she asks for are completely random, and have an item rarity between 94 - 96, making them usually expensive (depending on the item). As a reward for completing the quest, the Fountain Faerie will allow a user to paint one Neopet almost any colour (Ice, MSP, Quiguki, Robot, Royal, Sponge, and Usuki are not available). Until a Fountain Faerie quest is completed, the Rainbow Fountain will not work for the user, and once completed, the user can visit any time they wish, and the Rainbow Fountain will still work. Because of the rising cost of Paint Brushes, the Fountain Faerie is seen as a cheaper option to change the colour of a Neopet, making her quests highly desirable.

It has been confirmed that you are able to get a Mallow Grundo from a FFQ. So if you are lucky enough to get one of her quests and you really want a Mallow Grundo, go for it!

The Secret Laboratory Map

Somewhere on the outskirts of Neopia, a remote island hosts the crowning achievement of a brilliantly deranged mind. Since no one is really sure of his true name, most call him "the mad scientist." Every day, hundreds of Neopets form a queue for a chance to be zapped by his "Secret Laboratory Ray." Many of those who wait for a zap from the ray have paid hundreds of thousands of Neopoints for the privilege, in the belief that its powers could make them stronger or more beautiful. The Lab Ray (as it's called) is not all fun and games, though. Many a Neopet has fled in tears after being weakened, made hideous, or even gender-swapped. Depending on how you look at it, the Lab Ray is either a magnificent or horrific invention. So, if you've managed to piece together the Secret Laboratory map and unlock the island's hidden location, why not visit the Lab Ray the next time you're up for a bit of mysterious excitement? Remember though, just one zap per day; it's all a Neopet can really handle. The Lab currently costs around 800k. Although it may be a little bit cheaper is you buy the pieces separate in shops.

This is the most common way to get a Mallow Grundo. Although the lab is random. You could zap a Grundo (or any pet for that matter) for a year and it might not change into a Mallow. So your chance at getting a Mallow Grundo is unknown from the lab, all I can say is Good Luck!

Flask of Rainbow Fountain Water

It is unconfirmed if you are able to receive a Mallow Grundo by using the Flask. But why not try for yourself? How do I get this Flask you ask? By playing the Underwater Fishing Game. Your pet will be able to catch the Flask if his or her fishing skill is 78 or higher.

Caution; The flask is RANDOM. Meaning that you can only use it once and it does NOT guarantee a color change. Example; You could use the Flask on a Green Bruce, and he could be changed to a Green Bruce. Or it may turn into some color like pink or draigan. Also the Flask can change your pet *some* colors the Fountain Faerie cannot. On the trading post Flask costs around 800k. Beware that it is totally random and that you may only use it once. I suggest the Lab Ray, it is a much better investment. But if your adventurous and would like to help crack this "Mallow Flask Mystery" why not try?

Even though there is no Mallow Grundo avatar, all Grundos (including Mallow) are very proud of the 'Grundo Default' avatar. You receive this avatar along with all the other default ones automatically when you sign up with neopets. Here is what it looks like;
