This seems to have ruffled the Pteris feathers. He sighs and hands you back the coins, and floats down to
the bench and pouts. You look at him for a moment, and sit next to him.

Story
Chapter 1
I was born in Mystery Island, along the warm beaches high in a palm tree. My parents were dearly
devoted to me. They took turns to keep me warm, and would watch over me closely. I was soon nearing my hatch date, and my parents were very excited
for my arrival. A few days before I was due to hatch a storm was seen on the horizon, and it was makeing its way to Mystery Island. My parents were
worried, they were considering finding somewhere else to move me too, though of course with my being so close to hatching they didn't believe it to
be safe. Soon the storm was coming closer, my father went out to try and find a more sheltered area where we'd be safe. He was gone a long time and
my mother began to worry, the storm was nearly upon us. The winds reached us first, and the trees began to sway. My father was still not back, and
my mother had to make a desicion. She rose up and looked down at me, she nestled me and the nest as securely as she could in the tree. Then she flew
off to find my father, I felt the tree moving madly about and felt the nest becoming looser. I lay in my egg, feeling the chill breeze surround me.
Suddenly a huge gust struck, and I fell from my nest down into the river below. I bobbed up and was swept away by the strong current, I slowly felt
myself going colder untill I lost conciousness.
Chapter 2
I woke up to a searing hot pain coarsing through me, I screamed and leapt up into the air. I spun
around to see a group of very frightened Kougras looking at me. They were surrounding a pot of boiling water and inside I saw an egg, instinctively I
knew it was my own egg. I turned and flew away as fast as I could, darting through the trees untill I collapsed with exhaustion on the floor. I lay
there for quite some time before I picked myself up, I figured the Kougra must have found my egg in the river, and must have began to cook me. I
shuddered at the thought, I took a deep breath and looked at myself. From looking at me you wouldn't know I was dead, except for the fact that I had
no legs to speak of. They must have burned away in the pot. I pushed the image away, I couldn't bear to think of myself still in my egg. After a
short time I decided to try and find my parents, I searched high and low and all over the island but I never found them. I guessed they must have been
blown away by the wind. I decided to leave Mystery Island, I couldn't stay in a place where I'd lost so much.
Chapter 3
At the time I wasn't sure which was the best way to go, but I decided to head West and see where it
led me. In only a few short days I wound up in Krawk Island, of course I wasn't going to stay there, I'd had my fill of Islands. I stayed for a while
rest myself up for my next flying trip, and of course explored about to see the type of place it was. I couldn't help but notice all the gold and
gems that seemed to be floating about, they made me curious as I'd never seen such bright shiny things before. One day I found a small diamond on the
floor, I picked it up and stared into it. The subtle colours and beautifully cut surface made me happy, I held it up to the sun and was stunned by
shimmering beauty. Instantly I hid it and flew off to admire it more, I wondered if there were more gems like this floating about the Island. I
searched but found that the people of Krawk Island were very careful of their valuables. I decided to move on and find a place that was busy, where
people wouldn't notice what they dropped. I flew on from Krawk Island, past Faerieland and onwards over Meridell to Neopia Central. Here I saw the
hustle and bustle of Neopians shopping and chatting, I realized I'd found the perfect place for me. I soon found my very first bit of treasure,
it was a lovely gold ring embedded with Sapphires. I put it around my neck and have never taken it off since.

Mian is from another planet, weird isn't it? She believes in upholding the peace, and trains everyday
to make herself stronger. She goes about helping those Neopets in need, and fights for the opressed. Though sometimes she'll follow me into Neopia
Central and make sure that I return any objects I find, she's rather annoying when she does that.
Tanwydd
Tan is a vicious brute, only living to fight. He lives in a cave deep underground, it's the only
safe place for him. There he sharpens his claws and perfects his fighting ability, he is also the fastest creature I know. I don't visit him often,
when I do he tries to eat me.

The tale of Swift

On one of my many excursions to Neopia Central, I happened upon a small part of Neopia that not many people
visited. It lay just beyond the Wishing Well, I would explore here every now and again as some people would drop there coins while making a wish.
As I sat in my usual tree I noticed a commotion on the ground, I saw a Djuti scratching about in the dirt. I left my tree and alighted beside him,
he started but didn't leave his place. He glared at me and spread his wings over the ground, that's when I noticed the small array of shiny objects
underneath him. I smiled and asked if he wanted any help. Of course he was supicious but allowed me to help him, we soon got the coins up from the
ground and he thanked me by giving me one. We've been together ever since, together we manage to grab many a shiny gem. Of course I carry the larger
items, while Swift carries the smaller objects.
