Our goal is to have fun, make friends, and continue to better our accounts and knowledge about the site.

We also look for members who are outgoing, active, mature, and have a willingness to participate and share knowledge! We do focus on improving our accounts through our Power Challenges, so please be prepared to participate in at least a few!
Q: What should my application include?
A: Your name, age, what you like to do on Neopets, why you want to join The Power Factor, and any other interesting facts you want to include! Remember this application is posted on the guild front page and members vote in a guild poll on each applicant so make sure your personality shines through! A lot of times this is all we'll know about you when voting.
Q: How long before I know if I am accepted?
A: TPF Members have 24 hours to vote in a poll so you will know by then!
Q: Can I have an example application?
A: Hi my name is Silver and I've been playing Neopets since 2000 (gosh 10 years!) I used to love to battle, but now my main loves are splurging on my endless gallery, chasing the booklist, and gathering game trophies. I want to join TPF because I love how diverse the members are and I really want to be part of a tight-knit community. I also would love to learn a lot from the members (especially about gaming!) Fun fact about myself: I am a varsity college fencer and I love to write!
Q: Who do I send my application to??
A: Please send applications to beckykbrooks.
Q: Is The Power Factor a battle guild?
A: We do not like to think of ourselves in such limited terms! Most of our members do enjoy battling, but we also have many collectors, mallers, snipers, restockers, gamers, and people who enjoy all the different aspects of Neopets! However, if you enjoy battling, we do have monthly Power Battles. We also join wars if members are interested.
FAQ Section: New Member (Power Challenges and Power Battles)Q: What is a Power Challenge?
A: Power Challenges are monthly competitions we have for all members. Each month, a new objective is set for each member to achieve by the end of the month! It might be about trophies, training your pet, upgrading your shop, or simply helping on the quest boards! They are always optional, they are just a way to get people to diversify their interests in the site!
Q: Can I enter a Power Challenge even if I just joined?
A: You are always welcome to join but your goal will always be the same as everyone else's. So, it might be a little harder for you to complete, but there is always a new one each month!
Q: What are the prizes for The Power Challenge?
A: The top 3 participants of each challenge win a spiffy TPF Power Challenge Trophy and of course the knowledge that we have bettered our accounts!
Q: What is a Power Battle?
A: Power Battles are monthly 1p battle events in the guild to help us all build up our 1p BD scores. The top three battlers each month win a TPF Power Battles Trophy. These are optional battles, just a way to help us improve our scores and be battle-ready!
Q: How are the scores counted in the Power Battles?
A: The scores are now calculated using the formula TPF Standard created by Chris. Please check the Power battles page for more information.
FAQ Section: New Members (Posting)Q: Can I repost any gossip that I might have overheard from the chat boards?
A: Ok, so this might not really be a frequently asked question. But the answer is NO! Please leave all the drama for the chat boards. The guild board is a place for positive comments, conversation, and questions. Please do not post anything that might be construed as gossip or hurtful about any other player.
Q: Can I post as many times as I want?
A: If you are having a two person discussion on the guild board that goes beyond 5-6 messages, please leave it for neomails! A lot of us work or go to school full-time, and when we come home, we don't want to sift through 10 pages of posts that don't really belong on the guild board.
Q: How am I expected to act on the guild boards?
A: Such a hard question to define! Any code of conduct for chatting can be broken down to 2 comprehensive rules. (1)Please just have respect and courtesy on the boards in regards to other people and (2) Be mature. Refrain from using chatspeak, calling people names, and spamming. Please try to refrain from making posts with only a few words! Any other specific questions regarding these can be directed to council members!
Q: What happens if I am inactive?
A: Unlike other guilds, The Power Factor does not MAKE you post 5.63 times per day or have any particular limit. We prefer for you to stay active (this is a good way to make friends with the other members!) but we understand when real life might take precedence.
However, if members have not visited the guild in 3 months (yes we can see that!), they will be booted unless they gave us warning ahead of time. Those that have been booted for inactivity can rejoin at any time (with no poll!) if they feel they can be active again.
Q: Can I post about a new investment I found out about?
A: We are EXTREMELY cautious over posting about possible investments. If you post "Hey everyone, I bought some item and I think you all should too!" this could be seen as group inflation, and we can all lose our accounts. So just be careful in what you say, and how you word things!
FAQ Section: New Members (Voting)Q: Can I vote in the polls?
A: Absolutely! As soon as you are invited to join TPF, you have voting privileges for all polls.
Q: I didn't get to vote in the poll!
A: The polls for potential members are only left up for 24 hours. At that point, the votes are counted! You snooze, you lose! :P
FAQ Section: Ranks Upgrades and CouncilQ: How can I increase my rank in the guild?
The fifth rank is a rank reserved for those members who have taken a small break from the game for personal reasons. Inactive members will also be included in this rank after 1 month of inactivity. They will not be eligible for Top Tens, Power Challenges, Power Battles or other guild competitions. If a member remains inactive for 3 months, they will be subject to removal.
Q: Can I become a council member?
A: Sure! If you have been an active member in the guild for at least 3 months, and have a lot to contribute to the guild, please send in an application for council. Sometimes, we have spots available, and other times, people who have been on the council for a long time will be gracious enough to give someone else a go!
Q: What are the responsibilities of a council member?
A: Well, meet our current council! Each council member has a specific role in the guild. They help with website maintenance, guild layouts, updates, and power challenges, as well as receiving all admin powers!
Our fearless leader. Runs Fashion Factor and Mini Fashion Factor. She also helps with taking applications from prospective new members, updating guild ranks and in keeping an eye on the rest of council to make sure they are all doing their jobs.
Becky is responsible for our member ranks and recruiting and also our Top 10 list and Member Bios.
Vicky runs our monthly Power Challenges and motivates us all to better our accounts.
Kim is responsible for our Power Games activity and runs our TPF faerie quests.
Tara is in charge of Power Battles! She keeps track of all the stats and encourages us to beat up anything that moves. While the dome is under construction she will be running the guild bios and MoTM/GS comps.
