Welcome to A LA CARTE, a premade & request font site run by Alicia. Most of my 'business' is font requests, but I do offer premades too. They just tend to be updated much slower since I take in so many requests. ^__^notice: This layout does not work well in Chrome. You have to use the tab button to navigate well in Chrome - I suggest using FF to view this page, even if you use Chrome for everything else. It can be navigated in Chrome, but the scrolling doesn't quite work as well, I'm not sure why. Sorry about that!

01.02.12: Happy New Year! A La Carte took a small hiatus for the holidays, and I am back, but I'm sick and will probably be a bit slow on requests, as I can't be on the computer for as long as usual. Also, I have around 6 outstanding font requests, and I've gotten through a couple of them, but the neoboard preferences page isn't working right for me. I need to send in a ticket, so please be patient. Simple characters like commas and periods aren't even working for me - it's a big problem when making fonts -.- So sorry for the delay!

12.05.11: New font added for the Raindorf av! I'm now going to be uploading fonts that also require NB pens - because those are usually the fonts I make. That way, I can offer more premades, and if you want it made into a non-NB pen font, just send a quick NM/request and I'll tweak it to fit non-NB pen restrictions!

11.11.11: The site is a bit slow right now, still working on a 'come back' after my hiatus. I'm thinking about changing the layout, so it might be a bit before I have new fonts still. I've still been making/taking requests though - another reason I haven't gotten as many premades up, most of my 'business' is requests ^__^
10.20.11: I've now caught up on requests - however, I believe my inbox may have deleted some during my hiatus; I vaguely remember receiving an Affiliate request that is no longer there :C If you're missing a request, whether for a font or affies, please just resend them!

07.20.11: Please note: My last few requesters have had some issues with special characters while using Chrome as their browser. I've updated the request form to include what browser you use - if you use Chrome, I'll be eliminating most special characters from font requests, & obviously a lot of my premade fonts might not work for some. I strongly encourage Firefox if using my fonts.

faq & Suggestions
The Visitor Center is kind of like a virtual customer service desk. This is where you should come if you have questions for me, to check the FAQ [short as it is ;D], as well as leave suggestions you have for me and see what font ideas or themes are currently being worked on. I've also designated this as the place to see past layouts of the site, if you'd like to see them.
FAQ
How come I can't see the special symbols you used in your fonts? The most common issue to this problem is the browser. I make my fonts in Firefox, and other browsers, especially IE & Chrome, do not display all special characters.
Why do you put request codes on the site to be picked up? The reason for this is I use a lot of invisible spaces in my fonts, and when I send coding that employs invisible spaces through neomail, the invisible spaces condense into one space instead of several, making your font not match what I made for you. Do you take other requests, like layouts or graphics? Yes & no. I love making buttons - I've made all of mine [and yeah, I know the first few aren't so great XD] and banners, headers, etc. I have taken layout requests, so I will do them, but I'll be honest: only if I feel like it or what you have in mind is inspiring. They take a lot of time and tedious coding, so if I just don't feel like it or I'm just not really inspired by the design and idea you have in mind, I will turn you down. The biggest reason being there are people who take requests specifically for them, who are much better than me XD I do like making layouts too though, so if I'm in the mood, I will. |

Please do not claim my fonts as your own, whether premade or a special request!
Please do not edit my fonts, redistribute them, or use them on your own site! [By the way, I don't mind if you edit colors to change a request font I filled or a premade to suit a different av - just don't totally change a part of the font or take my fonts apart and combine them with each other or your own and claim them as yours - no frankenfonting please!]
If you'd like to get my premade or requested fonts rated on rating boards, feel free to do so, as long as you mention it is premade and by who [me ^__^]. Keep in mind though, many people will not rate premade fonts.
Credit for fonts is not required (unless using one of mine for font-rating); however if someone asks you who made it, tell them it was me! Link-back buttons on your profile are definitely appreciated though ^__^.
Please do not copy, steal, or claim my fonts as your own. Sometimes styles may come out similar, that's bound to happen, but please don't directly copy my fonts.

Here you'll find a list of sites that I personally find useful when fonting! These are useful to both the beginner & expert, and everything in between!
Check out the following:

This site has pretty much every symbol you'd want to use in a font for easy copy-pasting without having to waste space using extra coding, and you don't have to worry about compatibility between browsers! It's run by Holly, and I use it for pretty much all of my fonts. It's put together nicely, and she has some nice resources within her site as well.
o2. This is a very in-depth guide to fonting by Rika (beatitude). Once again, a great resource with helpful tips for the beginner, expert, and everything in between!
o3. This is a very nice guide to making picture fonts, complete with a broad overview, step-by-step instructions, detailed explanations, and tips! Great for those looking to begin making picture fonts, but also great for the experienced font maker with its helpful tips!

Here are some premade fonts to go with various avatars. I will include fonts for both default & secret avatars. Please keep in mind that these fonts look best in Firefox. I test them in Chrome so that I can ensure they fit default limits, not NB pen limits, but they look best in FF.
Note: You do NOT need a Neoboard pen to use all of these fonts! However, if you have a Neoboard pen and would like a more complex font, please request one ^__^ Additionally, any fonts that DO require a Neoboard pen, will be marked. If you would like a NB pen font to made into a non-NB pen font, just ask me and I'll do my best; just keep in mind that it won't be exact due to the reduced space.

Read my rules, and then neomail me for a request with the form below. For your convenience, open a new tab and copy the link from the left-hand text box into that address bar. Then, copy the form from the right-hand text box into that NM. Also, on requests, I do reserve the right to use request fonts for my personal fonts if they have not been very tailored to individuals - especially name or lyric fonts, unless you've given me very specific lyrics, etc. However, I will not share a request font on my site if the requester would prefer me not to. There is a spot in the request form to let me know if this is ok or not ^__^ Examples & form below.

Chrome users: If you would like special characters in your fonts still, feel free to go here & let me know which sections you can/can't see the symbols in. I tend to use a lot of the special letters in my fonts.
Any requests submitted over the weekend won't be addressed until the following Monday or Tuesday, as I'm not usually online at all over the weekends.

Request Pick-Ups
Please do not snag these font codes. This space is reserved for request pick-ups, and unless the requester has specified that a font can be offered to the public, these are one-of-a-kind fonts made for the requester's use only. Font Request Examples
Here are examples of requests I've made. I've put these here not only as examples, but also to show what distinctions in a request could lead to me sharing a font on the site or re-use for my own personal use versus allowing only the requester to use a font.
For this font request, the user didn't give me any specifics other than the av [Ghost Krawk] and that she likes georgia bolded & italicized. Since it was free-reign as far as word choice, and I happened to use lyrics from a favorite song of mine, and she just happened to really like it, I may decide to use this font for my own use in the future. There is a spot in the request form to let me know if this is ok or not though ^__^
For this font request, the user had several specifics in mind: colors, avatar, and what the font said. This font I would not use for personal use, because I did not employ my own artistic license to create the font; I was told what it should say, what avatar, what colors, etc. To an extent I use my own artistic style for all fonts since I'm the one creating them, but hopefully these examples show the difference in what I would possibly use for myself and what would be made for the requester only.
