About Me


Okay, well, my real name is Vanessa, but I'm usually called Ake here on Neopets. I am a thirteen (going on fourteen as of September 26) year old girl who loves reading, writing, the computer (specifically Neopets) and animals. I own a 14 month old cat named Mischief, who I have taught tricks including sit, shake, down, and kiss.

I suppose a lot of people could say I'm shy, which is true. But when I am with my friends, I am certainly not! I guess I could say I'm a little strange as I do make strange comments sometimes. Such as "What about battery lights?" Don't ask, it's something I said in school. I *think* I may have meant "What about batteries for flashlights?" Something about saving energy in school...Anyways, I tend to be independant, I try my best not to rely on others. I try to be my own person too, and if I tried to describe myself fully, well, it would take quite a few paragraphs...or pages. Ha. But if you would like to find out more about me, I'll give you my contacts so we can go through the long, boring process of my life.

So long long have you been on Neopets?
Well, I've been on Neopets for over 4 years. My oldest account was vkr, and was iced because I said a Instant Messenger on the Neoboards a few times, which is against the rules. I didn't know that at the time, and now I have read the rules so I know all of them and I will never make the mistake of breaking one. If you want proof of my time on Neopets, my other account is groovylaura77, and that is about 3 years old.

What do you do on Neopets?
I usually just play games or talk on the chat boards. I also like to RP, restock, and things like that. My favourite thing to do is to take care of my pets and foster others. :)


Now, just to clear things up. You see I have four pets. No, I am NOT going to abandon one. Sasa2002, the purple shoyru, is actually up for adoption. So if you do choose me, it may be a while until she goes up for adoption. I'm sorry if that is any problem for you, but I am sure it will be soon. Let's just hope the lab map does its job and I get some good applications. If this is any problem, you can neomail me, or send me a messege at one of the messengers I listed earlier.




Meet the Family


The only one of my pets who won't be going up for adoption is AzumaKami. The other two, Grimripper39 and Miw_Sheri will be zapped by the lab ray and put up for adoption. Azuma here, has kindly let me use his page for this application. "Because it's for a very good cause." He says. I think he'd like to say something else to Icarian...

Aww, wasn't that sweet? So once again, as you can see, I have four pets right now, but all but one will be up for adoption, so very soon I will have room for Icarian in my family, where she will be greatly loved.

Icarian's Future


I have quite a few things planned for Icarian. First of all, as you can see, the Pink Faellie that AzumaKami plans to give Icarian if you accept my application and I am chosen to adopt the lovely Icarian.

Am I planning to go into the Battledome with her? Sure, why not! Azuma is also a battler, so that's something they have in common that they could chat about. I'm sure they'll be the best of friends :)

And Roleplaying? YES! I simply love to roleplay, and I would just love to roleplay with Icarian. Want an example? Well, here you go!

The sky was shining brightly, high in the sky, reflecting down upon the river that lay below. A gentle breeze was blowing through the tree's, creating a soft, rusting of leaves sound. By the river, lay a small pink gelert, by the name of Icarian. Her paws crossed, she was staring out into the water, day-dreaming about nothing in particular. Her tail twitching slightly as she saw a small school of fish nearing. Slowly and queitly, she got up, crouching as they came nearer... And then... "Boo!" she shouted, jumping towards the river slightly to scare the fish. She giggled, and lay back down, day-dreaming again. But then suddenly... "Boo!" came the voice of Azuma, as he jumped at her, scaring her greatly. Icarian leaped up to face him. "What was that for!?" she said angrily. Sure, she was playful and all, but she did not like to be disturbed...

So that, as you can see, is my roleplaying example.

Now, what about entering Icarian in the Beauty Contest? Of course! I'm not the world's best at drawing, but I certainly try my best. Below is an example of one of my drawings of Icarian. And oh, before I forget. I didn't draw the picture for this blog. My friend, and excellent blog maker, kakurinesaizuki, made it for me.


This picture I handdrew of Icarian. I'm better at hand drawing pictures than on the computer so... This is a picture of her, like on the night I met her, when she showed me that she was looking at the moon. What a sweetie, eh?

If I am chosen to adopt Icarian, she will have her own room in my Neohome! I just started making my neohome, so it is not complete yet. But she will get her own room, with the following items in it:

So those are the main things. But Icarian will also get lots of toys and tasty foods to eat! I promise to take excellent care of her, as I do to all of my pets.

What about the Neopian Times? Any articles/comics/stories featuring Icarian? Well, perhaps. I definately will work on some but then again, the editor may not choose my story/comic/article to be in The Neopian Times.

You'd like an example of a short story with Icarian it? Sure, why not! I love writing stories! The story will be on how Icarian turned pink.

The room was dim and a foul smell wafted through the room. No, the smell wasn't of the dirty pets and everything in the room. It was the smell of lunch cooking. Icarian, a small blue gelert lay huddled in the corned of her cramped cage, shivering of not only cold, but of fear. Her once beautiful fur was now covered in dirt and full of matts. Her owner had dumped her here, abandoning her for a nice painted bet he had seen in the pound. She had thought he had loved her, unconditionally. But no, he had dumped her here so he could just get a nicer looking pet. That's what most of the other pets in here were saying about themselves, the same thing having happened to them. Other's were because they had been created for getting an avatar, like the nice yellow Kacheek in the cage across from her. Her stomach grumbled, it was about lunch time. But even though she was so hungry, it would be difficult to eat the horrifying food that the cook would've made today. She sighed softly, and silent tears began rolling down her cheeks. But just then, she heard a noise outside her cage. "I'll take Icarian, the beautiful gelert in that cage." A girl was saying. Icarian sat up fast, hitting her head on the top of the small cage. Someone wanted to adopt her?! As her cage opened, she bounded out happily, even though she was tired, hungry and sick. "I'm going to take care of you." the girl said. The girl was o0rachelsyuker0o.

That night, Icarian was taken exploring, her sickness, hunger and fatigue cured. She was extremely happy now, and wanted to play. She had especialy liked o0rachelsyuker0o brushing her fur, and cutting the matts out of it. She had thanked the girl so many times. She had also explained to Icarian that she would be back up for adoption one day, but in a better way. She had also said that Icarian could help pick the home she wanted to live in. o0rachsyuker0o had also explained to her about the lab. "I know it seems scary, but I promise you, it won't hurt, and it will help you gain more strength, speed, and even be painted. Icarian was still scared, but she was also brave, and knew it was what she had to do. "I'm ready." she said. So off they went to the lab. And not 10 minutes later, Icarian came out, just as bouncy as ever, looking extremely happy. And she was pink! "I think this color suits me!" she said. "And now, I think I am ready to go to a good home.

Icarian is a girly little gelert, so pink of course suits her. But when she's upset, you better watch out as she has a fiery temper! She is very dedicated to what she says or does. If she makes a promise to you, she'll keep that promise. If she starts something, she'll finish it before starting another thing. She tries to always be truthful, and if she does lie, Icarian will feel guily about it and will soon come clean.

How I Met Icarian

The story of how I met Icarian is interesting. You see, I was wide awake one night so I decided to take a walk. As I was walking along, I saw her, stting, staring straight up. I walked over o her an loked up to, to see what she was lookin at. I didn't see anything though, beside's the moon and stars, so I asked her quietly, "What are you looking at." She turned her head to grin at me. "The moon." She said. Then she went through a ittle thing teling me why she likes the moon. "It just seems so calm and peaceful. And it's beautiful." Was one part of what she said. I asked her who her owner was and she told me she was being fostered by you, o0rachelsyuker0o. She seemed so precious, so sincere to... And I could see she had had an awful past, and I wanted to make that go away, make her forget about it, and just remember the good time's she'll have/had.


Why I Think I Should Be Chosen To Adopt Icarian

Why you ask? Well, here are my reasons.

• She will be getting a lovely Pink Faellie who will be called Shika
• She will be in a loving home with a loving brother named AzumaKami
• She will get almost anything she wants, within a reasonable way
• She will get her own room in my Neohome
• She will be entered in many contests such as the Beauty Contest, Pet Spotlight, etc.
