We asked her if she was another experiment that escaped Genron before the explosion--she said no; said she was a demon. I was skeptical at first (Maia was too); after all, demons don't exist... do they?

Maia: Maia was my first friend. We met inside Genron years ago. She's always struck me as the positive, immature one of our little 'family'. But she's been very distant from the rest of us lately, and depressed. Not even Eiythan can cheer her up! It's been so discouraging. I went into her room to talk to her (I probably should've knocked first. You know to be polite? But I didn't), and I saw her sobbing! Hyperventilating sobbing. I've never ever seen Maia break down like that. It made me cry with her. This isn't the Maia I remember... where's my best friend...?
