welcome
Hello, and welcome to Kit's Petpage Ideas, perhaps the only Neopets guide brought to you purely out of frustration!
Why did I make this guide, you ask? Because when I was trying to think of what to put on this pet's petpage, I was stumped. I was weeding through directory after directory, trying to find an idea that I liked, and thinking how much simplier it would be if all kinds of ideas could just be in one place.
I am only one person, so the amount of ideas I have is limited. Please, if you have an idea for a petpage that you'd like me to share, Neomail me (address to faileaybara) with your idea.
I do not provide the coding for any of these pages, nor do I try to explain the coding to you. I'll leave that to more experienced minds. I do, however, have a site at the bottom of this page that can teach you basic coding.
If you would like me to use one of your petpages as an example for one of the ideas listed below, Neomail me (address to faileaybara) with what catagory your petpage falls under and its link.
Let the ideas BEGIN!
about me page
An about me page is one of the most simple pages to make. All it involves is coding skills (which are optional, really) and a basic knowledge of yourself! My about me page is here.
adoptables page
Adoptables are images that a user can copy the code for and put on their page. The images are usually of a pet, a petpet, or some other random thing. Adoptables pages are pages that have an assortment of images and their codes in a text area.
avatar guide
An Avatar guide is a guide that Neopets users can follow to get the many secret avatars to use on the Neoboards. Avatar guides are abuntant. Usually they are catagorized by how to get the avatar, or difficulty in getting it (clickable, item, petpet, etc.).
art page
Are you an artist? Do you feel a need to show off your masterpieces? If so, then an art page might be for you. Art pages are where users put up their artwork. Art pages are, however, somewhat risky, because no matter how many threats of reporting you make there is still a chance that someone will attempt to steal your art, so be warned!
coding guide
Coding guides exist for the sole purpose of teaching those new to the coding world how to make thier pages pretty. Coding guides are, in my opinion, some of the most useful guides out there, but they require a vast knowledge of how to use CSS/HTML coding.
copy/paste layouts/lookups/fonts
If you are good at coding and have run out of things to code, you might consider making a page of copy/paste codes. Many users who are too lazy to learn how to code, or too young, or those who just can't get a grasp of it still want to make their user lookups, petpage layouts, or Neoboard fonts pretty. To do so, many of them find a page that has copy/paste codes. These codes always have a credit attached to whoever made the code, but again it isn't uncommon for people to try to steal these codes as their own.
dailies guide
A dailes guide is a guide to the freebies that you can recieve from Neopets every day. There are more than likely millions of dailies guides out there, but they are very useful nonetheless.
directory
Directories are lists of petpages. If you're looking for, say, an adoptables page, but can't find one, a directory would be your best friend, because it would have listed probably multiple adoptable pages.
faq page
An FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page is basically an About Me page, but focuses more on specific questions. My friend Kitty provides an example.
game guide
If you're really good at a game on Neopets and have learned all of that games secrets, perhaps you should consider making a game guide for it. Game guides are guides that teach other players the secrets to getting a top score in a game.
goals/wishlist page
A goals page is a place to list your goals on Neopets, such as reaching one million Neopoints or getting that Lenny Conundrum trophy. A wishlist is much the same, except for items instead of goals.
guide for newbies
A newbie help guide is a very useful tool for players who are new to Neopets. The ideal newbie guide would include how to earn Neopoints, what petpages are, how to keep your pets fed and happy, etc.
lab ray log
If you have the Secret Laboratory Map completed, you might consider tracking the zaps that you give your pet to keep up with all the species/colors/gender changes your pet has gone through.
real life guide
If you wish to make a guide, but nothing on Neopets suits you, then why not make a guide about your favorite video game or book? Or, if you are the artsy type, you could make a how-to-draw a Neopet or how-to-knit a Neopet guide. These guides can be creative and fun!
roleplay characters page
If you're into roleplay and frequently use the same characters, a roleplay characters page would be a big help. Instead of typing up the profile of your characters every time you start a new roleplay, you could just link people to your petpage and be all set!
TAQUITOS
Yes, taquitos. You could make a page about taquitos! This isn't such an odd idea as you may be thinking. It doesn't necessarily have to be taquitos, but making a page about something random and pointless can be rather fun at times. And example of a completely random and useless page can be found in my old TAKE OVER THE WORLD PLAN. I have to blame my friend Grimm for this idea. When I was trying to think of what to make this page about, she would not quit suggesting taquitos. THIS IS FOR YOU, GRIMM. BE HAPPY.
traditional petpage
A traditional petpage is a petpage that is all about your pet. You can be creative and think up a story for your pet, maybe how it came to be your pet or some adventure it had with you. You could even feature artwork that you drew of your pet on this kind of petpage.
coding help
If you want to make an awsome petpage but don't know how to do the coding, try the site below. It taught me basically everything I know about CSS/HTML. It's very useful and easy to understand.
word of advice about graphics
Yes, I made the graphics for this page (the banner, the background, and the blinkie). It's not hard, I promise. I didn't even have to pay for any of the software for any of the images, I just used freeware (because I'm a cheapskate ;) ). Don't be discouraged because your graphics aren't top notch at first, with patience and practice you can make them beautiful, or at least acceptable like mine. ;)
