Welcome

You think you know what's coming? You don't have a clue.
Welcome to Deja Vou.

Welcome to the Déjà Vou web page! Here on this page you'll be able to read all about the guild and receive news and updates on all its happenings.

If you're a current member, you can come here to find information about activities/events and links to its ever growing web pages. If you're considering joining us, then please head over to our Information and Application page and our Rules page. An application is required for joining because we are private. But we want you to join! So get a working! Hehe, just kidding; we don't want to force you into joining. But do feel free to neomail any of the council members if you have any questions. ^^ We are always excited to meet new or prospective members.

PLEASE TURN GUILD MAILERS ON
We send out weekly mailers with important information. To help keep you updated on what's going on, please make sure you can receive guild mailings or you will be whacked with a squid. I mean it :K.

News and Updates

Bee » June 29'09

Activities are updated! Do those activities and win points for your team! The winning team of the last round of activities will be announced July first along with their award!

Here is a list of pages I want to get started for the guild:
  • 1np Auctions
  • Creativity Outlet
  • Avatar Lending
  • Graphics Page
  • Yearbook

If anyone is interested in hosting any of the above, please send me a neomail. Some of them may not be able to go up for a couple weeks, but I'd like to get started working on them as soon as possible.

Bee » June 28'09

Okay Hi everyone. As you can see the webbie has been moved to a new page. :P The guild is having a couple of changes, but we're still good. Brandon is going on a semi-hiatus, and we wish him well with RL! 8D Now I'm hosting the webbie and will be making updates, changing activities, and all those other things council people do. xD As you probably can tell, the amount of smilies that'll be used wont change, cause I love using them too. :P Hehe, well that's all of an update I have for today. Look forward to meeting some new members, and new activities coming as well!

Wait one more thing! I'm in need of someone to host a year book for the guild. Which is technically the same as a member directory but I don't want to get all technical. So if you could just mail me if you're interested, that'd be great.

Brandon 13/6

So long since an update! Okay, so, the time since the opening day has been generally good. We opened and got quite a few people to join. Some were from Continuum and others were just plain new.

Activities are also changing today. Jordan won the number activity, and Gen and Via placed 2nd and 3rd in it.

The slogan activity will still be up. WE NEED ONE PEOPLE! Only Via has submitted one.

Brandon 7/6

Opening day is today! We'll have a board up and try to get a few members to start things off. Council people and such, refer to the page I gave you yesterday for apps.

And, on another note, activities and Déjà Points are up. Teams are also now functioning. So, go win some DP! Only one activity is seriously difficult and even then there's a quick way to do it...

So yeah, that's it for today. Bee, I still need your meet the council thing.

Brandon 2/6

Okay, so, this is obviously my first post here and the guild isn't even open yet, so I don't know what you expect to find here. But I'll list the updates as of 2/6. (Yes, I write my dates backwards. It makes sense to me -- the 2nd day of the 6th month, 2/6).

  • Right, well, we had a poll about changing the guild name from Arctic Scribbles to Déjà Vu. That was unavailable, however, so I turned it to Vou instead of Vu.

  • Obviously, we have a webbie. Bee was awesome(then again, she always is :P) and created and coded this entire thing for us. Now I have the coding! ...Let's see how long it takes until I delete something important or in some way break it...

  • Hmm... not anything else I can think of... oh, if we're ready, we MAY be opening on Saturday. If we're ready being the keywords.

If you would like something to be added here, please mail Brandon, iimeia, coookie18471, to have it added. No BC ads or shop ads or anything else though. Something important.

The Portal

This is a portal, where the elite links can go. I still have no idea what I'm going to do with it. So we'll probably use it after we open. Or I could change the page entirely to fit something I want to make...

Activities

Okay, we have activities. Obviously. There'd be no point to this page without them. So, when you play and activity, you earn DP, Déjà points. Yeah, boring word, points. So, you earn DP and then, at the end of the month, the team with the highest AVERAGE point value wins. I say average so no team has an advantage over any other. Large teams don't win just because they have more people.

Anyway, to participate, just neomail me and I'll tell you if you get the points. I'll keep count of points on the homepage.

Pop A Balloon

Below there are six balloons. Each balloon has something in it like DP or the like (no prizes like actual items because that is against the rules). Just neomail Bee which balloon you'd like to pop!

Help A Weewoo?

These weewoos are very sad. They are searching for some specific things around neo, but they can't find them. To make the weewoos happy, find what they are looking for and send the link to Bee. (Played the same as a scavenger hunt. You may use yourself or others members of the guild. You earn 20DP for every time you make a weewoo happy.)

Name It

So you think you know everything eh? Well great! Cause we need your help. Below are pictures of items that we don't know the names too (even though we probably should...)! Help us out by giving us the correct name of the item. Each correct answer is worth 10DP.

Make a Slogan

Make us a slogan! Make the slogan, and we'll vote on it. The winner's team gets 50DP.

Teams

Explanation

Upon joining the guild, you will be teamless. All you have to do is neomail Bee or anyone else on council, and tell them which team you'd like to join. You will play activities and work together for plots and some events. The best team will, after some time, will be given some kind of reward. A theme day in honor of them,... or something like that. Each time it may be different so you'll never know what to expect. ;) All of the teams are named in French, as Déjà Vu is a French phrase. If you join, you will be Oeil, which means "eye" in French. Déjà Vu means already seen and that's where we got "eye" from. The the three normal teams are below. Their definitions as well. The most trusted rank in the guild is Âme which is "soul".

THERE ARE NO NEOPOINT OR ITEM OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT FOR ANY PLOT, EVENT, ACTIVITY, OR ANYTHING!.

Team Letrie

Letrie is the French word for "lethargic"(or, so Katiee, who is fluent in French, says).

Via
Brandon
mysteryfuzz
ponyxtails
signorinasparafucile
softballqueen__124
bukhtar

Team Rêves

Rêves is the French word for "Dreams" Katiee says.

Katiee
Bee
l0ne_w0lf_0
radioactiive
xxrizzo
cats_of_starclan
lariehl

Team Cauchemar

Cauchemar is the French word for "Nightmare". Again, that's what Katiee says.

Rules

1. Literacy Rule
We are a literate guild which means we do not use chat speak. It's also appreciated that you post with correct spelling and punctuation. When making a post, please remember to make it a complete thought. Two sentences (Sentences consist of at least three words.) are the post minimum.
2. No Spamming the Board
SPAM = Stupid, pointless, annoying, messages. Spam will not be tolerated. Making more than four posts in a row is considered spam. Do not copy and paste other posts.
3. Appropriate Behavior
Courtesy is a lovely quality. Please do not beg for items, speak about inappropriate topics, use inappropriate language, and do respect all members. If you have a dispute with someone in the guild, it needs to be addressed with the council only.
4. Be active!
In DV, you need to be active. There's no use sitting there and doing nothing. Yes, I understand that one cannot get on everyday(I do, but then again, I don't do anything BUT Neo and school) but at least make an attempt to be active. Every Friday, I shall delete any member not seen in the guild for 2 weeks. 14 days. No warning neomail, just deletion. If you are out of town or something for more then 2 weeks, then neomail one of the council, who will pass the word onto me. If you are deleted in a member sweep, you may rejoin, but try to be active.
5. Use your powers as you are meant to!
In DV, you may be given invite or board powers. If you are given these powers, use them as you are meant to. Not however you want to. Don't senselessly delete posts or invite those who speak only in chatspeak.

Consequences

If you break the rules, you will first receive a warning. A second offense will result in a suspension. Three strikes you're out; A third offense will result in you being removed from the guild. All consequences are given on a case-by-case basis. If the rules were broken unintentionally, you will not be punished but simply reminded. ;) Do not fret. Council realizes we are all human and we all make mistakes.

Information & Application

Okay, so, you're looking to apply. Great. If you still want to apply after I tell you about the application process, you're even more awesome. Or insane. Or both.

The first part!(The easiest part...)

This is the first part of the application process. It's the easiest part, probably. Notice the probably. It seems easy to me, but you might find it harder then the other parts.

Writing application!

WHOO! Nothing like writing a huge long page/ series of neomails to get into a guild. So, the first part of the application is simple: answer a few questions on a petpage or in a neomail. Petpages don't have to have a layout; it doesn't matter if you use a premade layout if you do have one. Custom layouts will not make you more likely to be accepted.

The questions:
  • The first question is simple: Why do you want to join DV?
  • If you joined, how active would you consider yourself to be?
  • What could YOU contribute to DV?
  • How did you learn about DV?
  • Describe yourself in more then 5 sentences. This is to test literacy and, if you do join, this makes a handy intro post if you word it right 0:-)

When you are finished, please send the application to ONE (1, uno, un, etc.) person at the bottom of this section. If you do not get a reply within THREE (3, trois, I forget the Spanish word for three...) days, send it to another person.

The next(and last!) part of the application

Okay, so, if one on the inviting crew likes your first set of questions, then you proceed to the interview round of the application. This is done with someone who can invite you who will ask you questions about anything. ANYTHING. Neopets goals, what books you like, your favourite colour, ANYTHING. The inviter will know what to look for.

After the interview, if you get that far, you learn if you made it or not. If not, I'm sorry, but DV probably isn't for you.

Neomail applications to:
Bee (The Leader)
Katiee(NOTE: May be traveling)
Via (Usually on later US time)

Meet the Council

I. Bee (everlights)
Hi, my name's Bee. I've been playing neo for a few years now and this is where I come to escape from the hectic world. I like to keep myself busy so I'm pretty much always doing something. I like to play the piano and write music, do graphic design and code, and eat skittles (cause skittles are awesome 8D).
II. Lady Via (viabestiae)
Greetings, I am Lady Via, but you can call me Via. I've been on Neo for five years now, often until the wee hours of the morning. I'm obsessed with the Lost Desert, lupes, and light faeries. I'm a roleplayer, writer, artists, and designer, with way too many projects to ever keep up with. I'm happy to lend adivce or a helping hand to anyone in need, so feel free to send me a line with anything. The Council is here for you. =)
III. Kiara (mysterydragonflower)

Contact Info

This is where you can get in touch with the council or Âme members of DV. Feel free to send us applications, questions, concerns, comments, random chatter, anything.

Hosting a Page

So, you want to host a page for DV? Great!

...Do you have any idea what to host? Because I don't. If you have any ideas(preferably you'd be willing to host the page too...) tell me ASAP! If I approve the idea, I'll send you a link to a code page and you can use the coding from there!

Now then, some cautions. I don't want some ideas because either I am going to do them or I just don't like the idea :P

No one but me or, perhaps, one of the council will host a plot. I have one myself being written right now.

But I don't have a ton of banned ideas. So send them in and then I either approve or reject them. For those who host a page, you will get "paid" 20DP every Friday for your team. So, in a month, you could get 80DP just by hosting a page!

If you do host a page, update it. If you don't update it for quite a while, then you won't get the DP. Even if you just say, "I have no updates," counts as an update. Well, if you have something to work on then you should make an attempt to post something up.

So, if you have any ideas, send them to me. I'll probably link to them on the portal.

Hosting a page II

If you're seeing this page, then you have had an idea approved by Bee for hosting for DV! Just take the below coding and put it on a page, and neomail me when your page is up and running! Thank you for hosting :D

Approving an Application for Dummies

So you want to approve an application for DV? LYK OMS WUT D0 I N33D 2 NO///(*watches IQ drop*)... Actually, approving an app isn't as painful as trying to read n00b speak. The first part of an application is the written petpage. See the App page for questions needed to answer. Each answer should probably be a few sentences in length. If not, chances are that they aren't literate enough for DV or they're too lazy to type it out, which means they won't be able to keep up with the 2 sentence rule. The last question should be more then 5 sentences. If that last question isn't 5 sentences, they did not follow the question's requirements, and don't even bother moving onto the interview round. So, in a way, look at that last question first. If it's not that long, don't bother reading the rest of it. Looking over the questions, "How did you learn about DV?" question is perhaps the exception to this. You can't really write a huge thing to answer that. So a sentence or two there is fine. So, the person has gotten a nice written application sent in, and you're ready to move onto the interview round. ASK WHAT TIME ZONE THEY'RE IN AS YOUR FIRST QUESTION. This is important to know. If they're in a time zone that is on like the opposite side of the world than you, then the interview will take some time. Maybe a few nights. Try and set up a common time in that case. If they're in a close time zone to you, then the interview should NOT take days and days. If it does, then that person is probably not on Neo enough to be really active on the guild boards. Now, the next few questions can be anything. Just something random. Remember to always ask "and why?" with the questions. This makes them explain why and evaluates thier literacy. The last question should be "How do you think you did in this interview? Do YOU think you should join based on this?" This is a tricky question and you can score this or not, it just depends on you and the answer they give. If you think they did a good job on the interview, then invite them. Currently, everyone in the guild has invite power(even you Gen). So if you want to, go out advertising by yourself because you can invite people. If not, then tell them(In a nice way Gen...) that you don't think they'd make a nice fit into the guild. So I think that's it... neomail me if you have any questions!
