Council Application

After some thought and consideration, I have decided to apply for council. I have always enjoyed being on council, and feeling the sense of community that comes with being in a good guild. No matter what, I will still do the same old that I do for Aros, and I know that you will make the best choice. Here is the complete application, I hope you enjoy it.

What ideas do you have for Aros and how will you implement those ideas?
First off, we need some sort of member page. With that, I could make a year book, and put in their gained attributes that they have earned.
Secondly, We could have special games, with awards that they could show on their petpages, ul and shops. This would make them shine a little in the guild, and increase interest in guild activities.
Finally, I want to make a large petpage for the archives. I have considered a few ways to do it, A journal, newspaper styled, or a long flowy list. It would need some work, but it is a major point for the guild.

What type of responsibilities do you have in mind for a council position
Responsiblities of a council member include:

• Respecting the member of the guild while maintaining guild and neopet rules.
• Keeping drama non-existant
• Greeting new members and making them feel as if at home
• Advertising when needed to grow the guild
• Coding pages (if has knowledge) and running guild pages
• Generating ideas, while giving constructive feedback
• Finally, to assist you in your evil-doings.

What amount of time are you willing to spend weekly fulfilling the responsibilities of this position?
I am able to dedicate about 7 hours at the minimum weekly. At this moment, I plan on being online and chatting with members every day (if possible). Some weeks I will have less time, but will do my best to let you know in advance.

Are you sure you will be able to handle to dedication required? Aros is and will be an extensive guild with much to work on.
I am sure. Having ran a few guilds in the past (with one pretty successful!) I feel very confident that I will be able to assist you in the inner workings of Aros. The only issue I may run into is a day in which I have to focus on RL, but that shouldn't happen to often.

Tell me about yourself?
Well, my name is Ashley. I am 20 (21 in September!!) and am currently holding a part-time job and attending school full-time. I have a special guy in my life, enjoy cooking, and playing video games. Neopets wise, I have been playing for about... 7 years, have lab map skills that I could extend to guild members (in form of pretty pet adoptions!), and extensive knowledge on how guilds work. My nerd-factor is 9/10 and I am great at playing along / making inside jokes.

Do you have any special skills that I should consider? If so, please give an example.
I am able to code. I love coding! I am pretty good at advertising for guilds. Sometimes I am pretty creative, but am also very good at listening and giving ideas. I am good at proof-reading, and am a little OCD with making things as perfect as possible.

If you wish to work with the plot, please write two paragraphs focusing on Aros. It could be an addition to the story, or something you made up. This will allow me to assess your writing skills.
I have no interest in writing the plot (as I have a hard time writing creatively), but would be interested in attempting to shape the plot, and giving paths on which the plot could travel on.

Give me an example of an inner guild problem that members may come across, or be involved in. Along with this problem, give a solution that you would use to solve it.
There are many guild problems that could arise. I have seen jealousy, bitterness, and finally members ripping on each other openly on the guild boards. Seeing this, I would delete the offensive message, and contact both members, asking them to keep that off of the board, and instead talk to me. I would listen to both sides of the story, and attempt to mediate the situation. I would offer a few solutions, and tell them to talk it out between themselves through neomail. Finally, I would check up with both of them, and see how things ended up. If needed be, I would take a member out of the guild if they were a constant trouble maker, and was there to only pick a fight. That is unfair to the rest of our members, and no-one deserves a fight on a place to "escape" real life.
