She never had a chance.

Never had a chance for what?

She never had a chance to be normal.

A flash of gold alights the skye
Followed by dull thunder's cry
The air is heavy and the clouds are dark
The rain that falls shall leave its mark
Only one can wield this might
She perches high; at the highest height
Regal in form and forever divine
When she descends, oh how she'll shine
But perfection comes at a heavy cost
To become perfect, all flaws must be lost
Love is a flaw
She's lost it all
It approaches, deadly and fast
The drowning rains shall last
The freezing icy blast
People flee in fright
They pack up their things that night
They all start running

They know the storm is coming.

You are wandering around, hopelessly lost. You don't even know why you decided you had to explore the dark woods. The moment you stepped under the cover of the frail leaves, the skye blackened and a single streak of lightning danced across it, lighting up every bush, tree, pebble. There is only a brief two seconds before thunder erupts, the sound echoing around you, making you feel like you are surrounded. You become scared, and run. The rain starts to fall steadily, yet softly. You become blinded when the droplets fall into your eyes, and you panic. Your foot becomes snagged on a root that has been freed by the rain, and you lose your balance and go flying, smearing across the mud. When you finally manage to wipe the gunk from your eyes, you see that you've reached a clearing with a deep pond in the center. The rain is not harsh enough to destroy the wildflowers beside the pond, nor does it have the strength to turn the trees.
A lone figure has draped itself out besides the water. It is slender, sleek, and completely still. Is it dead? you think, pulling yourself together to walk towards the form. As you near, it becomes clear that "it" is a female. A female Gelert, by that matter. She stirs, awakened by your approach, and slowly rises to her feet. You are instantly wonderstruck. She's just so...beautiful. In fact, beautiful didn't describe her. That word wasn't good enough for her. Stunning wasn't good enough for her. Gorgeous wasn't good enough for her. Oh no, only one word could sum her up:
flawless.

She glances over at you, her grey-blue eyes half-covered by the dark lid, giving her a look of pristine elegance. She knows she's better than you. Her muzzle is curved, not sharp, and almost feline, and her long ears are delicately shaped, dwindling down to mere twine-like substances. Below her left eye is the image of a grey storm cloud with a single bolt of lightning escaping from it. Her coloring becomes obvious: electric. You can tell by the jagged bolts of shocking pale silver all across her down-soft satin-like fur. There are very few bolts on her ears; only one or two per. But something strange about them is the fact, a little above the base of her ears, she has two golden hoop earrings pierced through the skin. In fact, the coils of her ears were incredibly long. They reached the ground.

In fact, the Gelert is lavished in jewerly. Across the top of her head, held in place by her ears, is a tiara that shone with honey-colored light. Small diamonds, stained the color of roses, are incased into the tiara, and at the very tip is one, larger pink jewel.

There are two objects drapped across her neck. There is a tight charcoal-colored collar with a pink rhinestone on the front. A collar? She's owned? But no. It couldn't be. Nothing could tame such a creature. The other object is a long silver ribbon, with a light diamond resting on her chest. Bolts flash across her slim legs. Near the top of front left leg is a golden band with a amethyst embedded in the front. On her front right left are two golden bands near her soft paws. They don't touch, but they do both have a single ruby. On her back left leg is a golden band, held up by her paw. It has a small emerald on it.
The only other piece of jewelry on her is on her tail. Her tail is thin and curled. The small amount of her tail that isn't simply string has two small, yellow double tailbands.

She arches her back, stretching. Then she walks in a blunt circle around you, watching your every movement. Even the way she walks is so spectacular that it takes your breath away. It's so so defined and graceful, like she was floating instead of walking. "Who are you?" she asks, her voice as silky as her fur. "And why are you here?".

You stammer. "I-I don't know. I was just...called here, I guess.".

She breathes out her nose, her eyes rolling. She acts as if she has heard this one before. "Aren't they all." The Gelert lays back down, resting her head gracefully on her crossed paws. Her eyebrows are high. "Well, aren't you going to leave?".

You blink. "Should I?".

."Well, you're not welcome here, in my opinion.".

."But...I want to know about you!" Your voice cracks slightly in yearning. You realize this is true. There is nothing you want to do more then sit here for hours on end and hear her beautiful voice.

And so you shall.

Her Story

."First of all," she began, lowering her eyelids to a point where it seems she has closed them completely, "I'm sure you want my name?".

You ponder this, and then nod excitedly. Your damp hair sticks to your face as you listen intently. The Gelertess flicks her curly tail, gazing at you. "My name is Annabell. I am," she paused for a moment to smile, as if memories were being called back to her, "the Goddess of the Storm.".

As she says this, a jolt of lightning alights in the skye. Thunder doesn't follow, and you are confused. You notice the bolts on her fur are glowing silver, and a tremor of static passed between the two tips of her twine-like ears. "And this is my story."

Annabell was born exactly twenty years ago today, when the moon was eclipsed by the Earth (a Lunar Eclipse, for those who don't know). Her parents were Eiana, Goddess of the Light, and Umbri, God of the Skye. They were both pure-bred Gelerts, divine in their elegance, and perfect in their form. They were more then rejoiced about the birth of their daughter. By the time she was six, she had already proved that she could create any sort of storm possible. Age three was the tornado. Age four was the electrical storm that wiped out half the kingdom she lived in. Age five was a hurricane that nearly destroyed Mystery Island. Having grown up with her every whim and desire fulfilled by a mere flick of a paw, she became spoiled. It isn't known if she ever had a chance to grow up kind, thoughtful, or sensible. But now she was pampered, pristine, and thought so highly of herself that it was impossible for her to walk around without her little pink nose to be high in the air. Her mother Eiana taught her how to walk the walk, and talk the talk.

And yet. And yet...she still had a heart. It was discovered when she was fourteen, the age Gelerts are expected to pick a mate. She was prancing around the countryside, wearing all her jewelry (which, at the time, was everything but the collar and the double tailbands). The sweet scent of the daises distracted her mildly, and instead of returning home, to see the males her parents had picked for her, she stopped to step through them. Annabell got so caught up in her dance through the flowers--because, due to her regal status, she never did have much of a childhood. There was no jumping in the muck and digging up bones for her. Oh no, that would be so filthy--that she didn't notice when he arrived.

She should have just left when she saw him. Because there was no chance ever, in the world, that she could ever work anything out between them.

Why, you ask?

He was a Lupe.

And not just any Lupe at that one. A green Lupe. A plain, country Lupe. And you know what was worse?

He was a pet.

Yes. A pet. He was owned, and by humans. He tended to the Baabaa flocks, making sure nothing came and got them. Not only would Annabell's parents absolutely refuse this due to his low status, but he was a different breed. They would not dare destroy their perfect gene pool with such contamination.

But every girl, if at least just for one day, wishes to rebel against her parents. And poor Annabell fell for him, and fell hard. So she would sneak off with this Lupe, named Tern, every night after Eiana and Umbri went to sleep. Her parents were suspicious, of course, but they never would have figured out what was going on. And they wouldn't have if she hadn't slipped up that one time.

You see, Tern gave Annabell a gift. It was a black lace color with a fake large rhinestone on the front. It was cheap, of course, but she wore it anyway. And every morning, when she came back to her home, she would take it off and hide it in her jewelry case.

But one day, she came home much later than usual. The sun had already risen, and her parents were already up. She had a hard time sneaking back in without them noticing, and was so tired when she finally made it back to her room, Annabell fell asleep the second she was on her bed.

Her parents discovered the collar on her neck when they went in to check on her that afternoon, when she didn't come downstairs. They were furious. They threw the collar out the window and yelled and scolded. Then they sliced the final notch on her staff of adolescence.

They banished Tern, and told Annabell that if she didn't want to be with another Gelert, then she wasn't going to be their daughter.

Annabell, with her large pride, took this as a horrible insult. In her mind, they just banished her. She put on a stoney face, and walked out of her room. She went straight to her parents' room, and dug around until she found what she was looking for. It was a golden double tailband, that signified marriage. She slipped it on, knowing she would never see Tern ever again, and vowed she wouldn't ever love ever again, either.

And with that, she walked away from her home, her current life, and her past. The only things she took with her was her damaged dignity, her jewelry, and a certain lace collar she picked up outside her -blocked- Her heart turned to stone, and her permanent outlook on life would be that she was better than everyone else, because she couldn't get the one thing she wanted.

And that's that.

Hiiiiiiiiiii! My name is Rosa, and this is my application for Annerzbell, the Electric Gelert (but I'm sure you know that from the intro/story above ^^). It is also pretty obvious that I am going to call her Annabell. That picture above is a picture of her. I am now going to pause from describing the beautiful Annabell to tell you about the girl typing on the black keyboard.

About Me

Besides being called Rosa, my personality is simple. I am snarky, witty, self-centered, and I never think before I speak. So people love me. xD. I also cannot hear a clock alarm without wanting to tear out my hair, I have an uncontrollable phobia of cicadas, a theory that James Patterson is following me around, stole my book idea, and is now trying to kill me via Panic! At the Disco, and when I eat a Skinny Cow (which is like an ice cream sandwich), I tear the top layer of chocolate off it like it has done me a great personal wrong. =D Also, those ears poking out of my head are not cat ears. They are red fox ears. I don't like it when people call me a cat xD;; I have only written TWO other applications in my lifetime, one for Topaz (which I poured my heart and soul into), and another for a nameless darigan Kougra that my friend told me to apply for (my scrawny little app. was completely BLOWN OUTTA THE WATER by this one person.) This application, for the record, is a heart-and-soul one. Does this sound like a person you would like to own Annabell? I sure hope so.

I have played on Neo for three/four years. I have three accounts: Rosalia262 (my main), Lollipop873 (my side/lab account), and White_Bengal_Tigers (my side). I have never been frozen, but I have been warned a few times. But, never fear, this account has not been warned yet, and I do not plan to go yell at pound lurking n00bs again ^^;. On Lolli, I run a foster home. So I know you don't want to hear the ole "I promise to feed and play with her everyday". I don't care about the name of a pet (that's pretty obvious. I have a boy named Sunny_sunhine20). I care about what name I can get out of it. Because once I get a name, I get a story, a picture, and a background, all in my head.

Why Annabell?

Weeeell, this is a question I've wondered about for a while. But the truth is, one day, I decided it was time to get a new pet. For some reason, I wanted a dancer. Or a hippie. Or a guitar-player. Then again, the hippie would probably be the guitar player. Ironically enough, it would turn out that I didn't get either of these. And I couldn't just change one of my gang's personalities! That would be just wrong. But I didn't want to create and paint a pet. Why not, you ask? Well, this is going to sound cheesy, but I thought I needed to deserve this pet. If I just created a pet to look like Annabell, I might not deserve her.
But anyway, I went to Neopound and would scan through the Latest 21. I was waiting for something to catch my eye. And then something did. And not just something. Someone. She was this beautiful Gelert. But when I checked out her page, it said there was a finalest! Nuuu! So I kept searching, but I kept turning back to check on the Electric Gelert. She affected me. I had to go for an Electric Gelert, but I was worried that the finalest had already blown the owner away. But one day my friend Irish just told me to ask if the application for Annerzbell, because that was the name of the Gelert, had been stunning. The owner, Chromus, told me that it was good, but not stunning. So I started my app. ;3 But I didn't make any progress, because she didn't have a name. I didn't want to just call her Annerzbell, Annerz, Bell (though Bells is her nickname), Nerz, Ella, or Anna. So I kept repeating the name Annerzbell until I wore away the 'z', and the 'r', which made Annebell. And then it became Annabell. Viola! Her story flooded into my mind. She had been created.

Future Plans

Annabell would not rot. Don't even worry about that. She will not be labbed, moved from this account, painted, transmogified, or morphed. Boochi will not be able to touch her, because I keep Topaz as my active pet (because a purple paint brush costs less than a shadow or electric one). She will not be customized, because personally I was against that to begin with. Unless they come up with jewerly that is exactly like hers. Then it's okay! She will have a petpet, of course. Rnei, the blue Faellie. And if I could, I'd give her a faerie Moach, but they don't exist xD. She is in my gallery, along with my other items for Annabell. My gallery is here.

I'm Moach-tastical!

Background Information On Adoption

Every single one of my pets is adopted...except for Cherry. Which is why she got to be royal. And I was one day old when I created her, so her name isn't very good. But I refused to pound her over the years. Only Topaz was applied for, and the rest I just picked from the pound. In fact, I have never pounded a pet, ever, except for fostered pets. I have never lost a pet, and I've adopted out more than 30. And because of the new rule, people under four months can't touch Annabell. =D

Meet The Gang

I picked up an instant camera one day and followed around my entire group, and snapped a couple shots. I also wrote down a little bit about each and every one of them. Also, I introduced Annabell to them, and wrote down her reactions (they are in bold). Here they are, in order of appearence:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Cherry: Cherry is my little princess...except now she's 18. But she's been a bit spacey lately ever since her boyfriend got turned into a steed...wait, you mean this isn't usual for your household? Huh. This kinda stuff happens to us every day.
Another member of high status. Cherry is one of the few people Annabell respects. And she even feels sympathetic towards the poor Usul.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Swirl: Swirl is my baby. She's my youngest, age six, and is a striped Flotsam. She's lovable and happy, but ever since the fire she has a deep side. She understands the world.
How could Annabell resist those clear blue eyes? Even though she tried to keep a stoney face when she met her, even she had to crack a small smile. I know if I ever have to load babysitting duty onto someone other than Sun, I think I have a chance with Bells.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Metro: My ghost Lupe. Unfortunately, ever time he saw me he would vanish, so I couldn't get a picture of him. Only his charm. But after he died he became a fiercely protective older-brother-slash-father-figure towards the younger girls.
Annabell froze up the first time she saw him, and even Metro did a double-take. She was probably remembering Tern by seeing another Lupe, and this is what caused her to freeze, but I'm thinking Metro looked twice for a different reason ;D

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Sun: Sun. Wow. She's a faerie Acara, is fourteen, has one heck of an attitude, and is stubborn as a mule. She's the Fire Fairy, and currently has problems with catching curtains on fire. She even went and dyed the bangs of her hair a lighter shade without my permission.
Annabell did not seem to be amused by Sun's radical actions, and told me quite bluntly, and in front of Sun, if we could hurry up and go to another. Needless to say, this did not make the Acara very happy, and I took Annabell away before she got crisped.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Maggy: My second-youngest, a little 8-year-old island Acara girl by the name of Maggy. She's Spooks little sister (the only two I have that are blood-related), Keeper of the Dawn, is sweet, gentle, and detirmened not to become a Damsel in Distress again. I took this picture while she was swinging on the playground, because her -disallowed_word- obviously immune to Bells' beauty). Annabell merely sniffed and told me that maybe he needs to go to the P-O-U-N-D. I just told her this is how teenage boys act. She still doesn't like him.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Sarah: Sarah is a complicated girl. She's 12, the Keeper of the Clouds, partially blind, and was left on my doorstep when she was five-years-old with a note saying her parents would come back for her. So she became anti-social and awkward waiting for them. When they never came, Cherry was actually the one who really took her in. She made her over, styled her hair, removed the white freckles from her face and replaced them with the heart shape (I never did know how she did that o.0), and sent her back to me with a smile on her light green face, a new rebel attitude, and more lace on her clothing than in a wrapping factory. This is a picture Sun took of her sleeping on the clouds.
Sarah actually refused to meet Annabell (which is why I had to get Sun to take her picture), due to her rebel status and the fact she doesn't like meeting new people. Annabell was horribly taken aback, and if it wasn't for Maggy, would probably have a speciest-outlook on Acaras.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Topaz: A purple Wocky, but you wouldn't know that if you looked at her. Besides being 17, she's Arabian =O. That topaz on the center of her forehead has magical powers, and she can change forms to four other creatures. She's sort of emotionally-scarred, which is probably why the only person she trusts is Torva, the boy she is currently flying around the world with (Torva's a planeboy.)
Luckily, Topaz was home when Annabell came around. They didn't really speak to each other much, but when I later asked Annabell how she felt about Topaz, she told me that she was "okay." So basically Topaz is the girl she'll talk to.

So that's the gang! Every single one of them. My crazy family ^^. They're a lot of fun once you get to know them, and with the exception of Spooks, I'm pretty sure they all want Annabell to join the family.

Oh, and I even took a picture of Annabell, just in case she doesn't come live with us, we can remember her.

Role Play

Oh course she will be role played! I'm in the middle of 5 right now, one with Maggy, Topaz, Spooks, Metro, and Sarah. If you'd like, I can paste them. Also, I'm in a role play with Annabell and a few Akeidises from Neopound. Here's my intro, and I'll post her other replies later when they actually start:
Note: The setting is near a waterfall, and it had begun to rain.

The rain was calm and soothing.

She liked rain.

Mostly because she tended to cause it.

The sleek, almost feline figure was curled near the base of the falls, hidden under the cover of thick foliage and the reflection of the water. Her pale blue coloring helped her remain hidden. She'd seen someone, someone with wings, but hadn't been bothered. She didn't like people, and especially didn't like people with wings.

Annabell stretched and stood, her silky coat now completely drenched, but the silver bolts seemed to be glowing faintly, despite the rain. Also, her mass amounts of jewelry didn't seem anywhere near rusting. The slightest of smiles crossed her muzzle.

The Goddess padded quietly, away from the thundering water, away from the damp and muddy bank. As her electric eyes glanced at the clouds above, the smile widened. To anyone looking on, it would seem like the Gelertess wished for the storm to become more powerful; more destructive.

The rain blocked all scent, but it didn't matter. She wasn't looking for anyone in particular, instead just a form of entertainment. Someone to watch and to mock. A play toy, more than anything.

As she walked, one thing became obvious as the clouds began to lighten.

The real storm wasn't the weather.

It was her.

*yawn*
Closing

Well, that's it. I've thrown everything I have into this application, poured my very being onto this keyboard, and gave up the Altador Cup so I could hunt down Gelert Adoptables. =D If I am not chosen for Annabell, however, I won't be completely crushed. Yeah, I'll be sad for a while, and I'll definately watch to see who she goes to, but I won't go depressed and hide in a corner. If the owner you chose instead of I turns out to be a good one, I'll request to role pay with her. Yes, it will hurt to see Annabell with a new name and a new personality, but I'm always going to be there for her, even if she isn't on this account.

I had a lot of fun applying, and I hope you enjoyed reading this. Don't forget to check out my gallery, or ask if you want a sample of one of my role plays I'm in. Goodby--wait, Sun, where did you get that camera?! No, put that down, you know I hate flash, DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT I--
