^I kept the statistics from the old guild. (:

Welcome!

We're just getting started. Many things have yet to be accomplished. As of right now, we're gathering family members and genuinely trying to figure out how to make this guild wonderful from the beginning!

What Optique Offers

Optique is an artistic guild. This seems to be a popular theme these days. You may be wondering what makes Optique different from the blue million other artistic guilds that claim to also be "unique". Well, listen closely. Here, we'll all pitch in a try to describe why Optique is special.

Rorie says, "For me, Optique is that place I go to for friends. Well, for family. Maybe they just love me because I'm the leader... I don't care. They are so understanding and welcoming. I feel comfortable telling them anything, any issue, and they're right next to me with pitch forks and torches, ready to go terrorize a town. I have some sort of special friendship with all the members individually. It's great! They are there to back me up, ready to host something if I need them to... I just love it. I am so lucky and blessed to be the leader of such a... wondefully talented guild."

Rules

1.)

Mind your literacy.
In the past we've had people join just to take advantage of the artistic motive. The occasional "lol" is fine, but nothing other than that.

2.)

Come chat with us!
You must be on at least one day a week, and council every other day. Neomail me (Rorie) if you know you will be away from internet access for an extensive amount of time. **Please be mindful of our weekly activeness requirement!

3.)

Join a team.
They make Optique Optiquelier (Is that a word?). As soon as you open our doors, choosing a team will become a necessity. You will find yourself getting left out if you're not on a team. If you're having trouble deciding, take the quiz on Rorie's lookup to give you some help.

4.)

Don't spam.
Double posts will be deleted when seen by a board monitor, but try to keep posts to a minimum. Meaning not 5 posts in a row, posting "hi" and then waiting, etc.

5.)

Watch your post length.
They've got to be at least two sentences and of useful content. Please be friendly. We don't want you just posting "Hi" and waiting. Have you had a bad day? Did you get a bad customer at work? Tell us about it! We'd love to rant with you. (:

6.)

Optique 2.0 is a drama free family.
Do not post rude comments to a fellow member on the guild boards. If you are feeling ignored or have another complain, contact a leader first. We'll try to help you as best we can, and that will keep you from later regretting what you said.

7.)

Helping out is cool.
Just send Rorie or Faithe a neomail and we'll be sure to get you into hosting something or other. You suggest something, you can host it.

8.)

It's cool to be random!
Posting about cheese, pie, or flutes is just fine! We love seeing some happiness and life in posts. (: It's all good.

If you read the rules, please include a small introduction using the two leader's name, Rorie.

9.)

Be a mature person.
It hurts to see people disrespecting the leaders, other members or just anybody. Be mature! We have no age limit, but don't act like a 7 year old, even if you are one.

Consequences:

For activeness and literacy, you will receive two warnings. If it continues, you will be notified and removed or suspended from the guild.

Ready to Apply?

If you have read the rules and the webbie in full, you are ready to apply for Optique 2.0. Simply fill out this application. You can send it to Rorie, though we prefer you put it on a petpage. It is quite a short application, but the answers should be given to your best ability and not have to be limited by what you can fit into one neomail. You should receive a reply within that day and then get an invitation.
Also, keep in mind that Rorie or Faithe has the right to decline any application.

PLEASE REMEMBER to read the rules, as this does greatly affect your application.

Name: What You Prefer to Go By: HTML OR CSS Skills?: Examples: Your Artistic Talents: Relevant Guild-Related Skills: A Little About You: Literacy Level: Activity Level: Timezone: Team: Other:

Example Application!:

Name: Aurora Belle
What You Prefer to Go By: Rorie
HTML OR CSS Skills?: Unfortunately, no. I dabble in font making, but cannot work with CSS or HTML very well.
Examples: /~Rawriedell for fonts.
Your Artistic Talents: My best artistic gift, I would say, is writing. I've found, recently however that I can draw pretty well. I love taking photographs, and enjoy acting and singing, really performing in general very much. I think I love every artistic activity given here.
Relevant Guild-Related Skills: I am a highly talented leader, I think. I can lead well, and I believe I'm fairly good at coming up with ideas. I love to host activites, and find myself always reaching for a position of authority. I like to have a goal to strive for.
A Little About You: Well, I'm a spazzy person. I love being random, but I can read situations in which I must be serious. I love reading fiction series and novels, and coming up with creative and innovative ideas is my favorite thing! (: I love using smilies, having fun, and living my life. I'm artistically designed. I think my biggest weakness is that I trust a little too much in others, and not enough in myself. But in all the crap I've been through, I think I can say I know where my heart stands.
Literacy Level: Very literate. I only ever use smilies, never chatspeak.
Activity Level: Hmm.. I'd say I come on at least once a week, and definitely more. My schedule changes from season to season, but I think I can promise a definite once a week.
Timezone: Eastern Standard Time, or 3+ NST
Team: The writing team, Auteur.
Other: I really love how Optique seems to force individuality. I think I'll feel right at home here. (:

(HINTS:)

1. Explain why you want to join this guild or what you really like about Optique in the "Other" section.
2. Do your Optique research!

Teams

**** Presently, teams are canceled. They may resume in the future, but until further notice teams are unavailable.

Décrire is French for "photographers". Photographers are, like the other teams, very important and very highly thought of. Simply, photographers share their photos taken on the guild boards, and we all look at them. Don't worry, we are not harsh raters, and we're all kind to one another! :D

Auteur means "writer" in French. Writers are popular in Neopia. Some writing talents are unknown, as was the case with me. Writers simply express their feelings and opinions through a form in which many people read and attempt to comprehend. It's a way for many to vent their feelings and persue their dreams.

Acteur means "performers" in French. Performers are considered, by me at least, a way to express yourself by portraying another person or writing songs/poems/plays to express the way you feel through a disguised form. It's truly an art to have a behold the talent of singing/acting.

Styliste means "designer" in French. Designers include painting, drawing, graphic making, and sketching. Through these types of art, you can express your emotions and hide behind the canvas or computer screen. It's quite extraordinary to look at a picture and not be able to pinpoint exactly what the owner was feeling, because they hid it so well.

Jobs

Here at Optique, we can always use a little help. Therefore, we've created some jobs to get you, the members, involved with. If you are interested in applying for one of these jobs, please neomail Rorie or Sarah with the following application.
