You step into a small cafe in a plaza on the busy side of town. It seems deserted at the moment, as most of the employees are on their lunch break. You approach the counter but no one seems to be there to take your order. As you turn to leave you see a young xweetok head down a staircase on the far side of the room and follow after her in hopes of getting some service.

The staircase lets out into a small apartment area. The floor is littered with books and various machines, some of which are dismantled or being taken apart.

What do you want?

You jump at the sudden voice and turn around, finding the xweetok from earlier. She eyes you suspiciously for a moment before shrugging and ushuring you back upstairs. You obey, taking a seat on the couch in the corner and offering your name out of lack of anything else to do.

Hmm...guest? Well, go ahead and sit down, break should be over soon.

You nod, and get comfortable while looking for something to talk about as she goes behind the counter to fill your order, and after you have your coffee she sits down beside her and sips one of her own.

Celia

You notice something moving around inside the bag at her feet. A small robotic yulie sticks it's head out at stares up at you.

She glances down at it, her eyes warming in a fond sort of way. "Oh, this is Celia." She reaches down and allows the creature to climb up her arm and onto her shoulder. "I designed her myself, she can hold data and play music among other things." She nuzzles its head gently against her cheek and it responds by nuzzling back. "I managed to give her a set of emotional responses as well, though they're very undeveloped..." She hums softly and watches as Celia slips into her jacket hood and out of sight.

Friends

You're beginning to understand how she works and wonder what kind of friends this girl has. Upon asking she waits another long minute to finish what she was typing answering.

She taps her chin as she thinks of how to describe her first friend. "Hmm...while Kendrix isn't the kindest or most outgoing person, he's nice to have around. He's into videogames and for the most part just stays hulled away in his apartment playing them. I go to him when I need special parts or Celia needs a tune up.

She smiles slightly at the thought of her next friend. "Deseri is a very energetic lupess, though she can be so naive." She rolls her eyes to emphasize her point. "She loves that dancing game, and even though she got straight marks in school she hasn't done much with her life..." She shrugs, though it's apparent that she worries about her friend.

She huffs softly a folds her arms across her chest. "What can I say about this man...aside that he's terribly annoying..." She pauses to think before shrugging. "Well, he's not that bad, I guess. A real gentleman even if he's a flirt." She sniffs in distaste. "Though he does love his airship...and it is quite a view from the sky." She looks away for a moment before moving on to a different subject.

Her Story

Though it's a bit unorthidox you decide to ask her about her past.

She leans back and watches you for a moment "Well...I suppose I can tell you..." Her eyes flash, though if it's a trick of the light or something else you can't be sure.

She hums softly as she begins. "I was born in an old mansion outside of a small town. My father was very protective and my mother died shortly after I was born." She seems uncertain, even though it's her life she's talking about. "My father is a scientist you see, so he spends most of his time in his laboratory underneath the mansion. I grew up a rather...violent child. Probably because I didn't get the love and guidance that I needed at that young age. I liked my father well enough, but I didn't enjoy being around him. When he looks at me...it's like he's not seeing his daughter, but a ghost.

When I was old enough I left my father and the small town behind and traveled to the city. I sought out a higher education, since I had been homeschooled all my life and wanted to experience something new, and went into computer engineering and advanced robotics. In fact, Celia was one of my projects for those classes. We had to design something that would be useful in everyday lives and then build it." Celia peaks over her shoulder at the mention of its name, watching you. "I'm still going to school, but I'm not taking as many classes as I should be.

Oh, I suppose I should tell you how I came to be acquainted with Deseri and Kendrix shouldn't I? Well, it was shortly after I had come to the city and I was still looking for a job to sustain me while I lived here. I happened upon an arcade and went in, hoping that they would need someone to fix the machines or something like that. I had always been fascinated with technology and electronics as a child and as such I knew how to fix things." She finds herself falling off track and brings herself back.

Anyways, as I was heading through the arcade I was drawn towards a commotion in the back of the building. It revolved around one of those dance game machines, and Deseri had just demanded that she have a rematch with Kendrix. I was interested to see how it would turn out so I sat back to watch, but a little too close to the machine. In a rather...confusing turn of events, Deseri and Kendrix had managed to land on top of me and she felt so bad that she offered to help me find a place to stay. I can now say that I'm living happily in my own apartment, only a few doors down from where my friends live." She smiles and nods as she finishes her narrative and sips the cup of coffee that has been steadily cooling beside her.

You notice on the back of her laptop that there are various stickers that look like her.

Link to me?

You start to notice other employees coming in and getting ready for work. She closes her lap top and begins to pack up as one calls out to her. She stands up and bids you good bye, leaving a small card on the table.

Good bye then.

Bye.

As she hurries to the counter you slide out the door and look around for somewhere else to go.
