Drachen History

Drachens (also known as dragons, draiks, etc.) live together in what is referred to as a nest. However, the nest is brought up of a variety of drachens from each class. Drachens are organized into class based upon temperament and affinities.

Classes: Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Spirit
Colors: Ivory, Sapphire, Summer-Sky, Amethyst-Rose, Jade, Topaz, Ebon-Grey, Ebony

Fire and Earth drachens are the most commonly seen and known.
Water drachens are uncommon, though not rare, and are most often known as "water spirits" or "water guardians" in oriental lore.
Air drachens are rare as only a collective few are known.
Spirit drachens are so rare, they are commonly thought of as myth. Humans do not know of their existence, and they are a highly prized treasure among drachen society.



Fire Class
This class's affinity is the manipulation of fire. Their specialty is the ability to breathe it.
Ebony (called Dark Lords), are thought of as the proverbial warriors. They are the largest, strongest, are territorial, and have extremely aggressive tempers.
Ebon-Grey (called Grey Lords), are also the warriors of the drachens. They are a slighter, more agile version of the Dark Lords, though they are just as aggressive in nature.

Air Class
This class's affinity is the manipulation of wind. Their specialty is incredible agility and temporary invisibility.
Summer-Sky (called Wind Wakers), are slight of build and make excellent hunters for the nest.

Water Class
This class's affinity is the manipulation of water. Their specialty is their ability to heal, which is strongest in their saliva.
Sapphire (called Water Dancers), are mostly calm of presence. However, like the sea that they call to, they can change into turbulent tempers in moments.
Ivory (called Ice Sayers), manipulate water only in its solid form. They are cold and are usually the detached voice of reason.

Earth Class
This class's affinity is the manipulation of ground and plants. Their specialty is their ground shaking roars.
Jade (called Earth Speakers), are usually the ones to find the best dens and look after young. Because of their natures, they are both nurturing and over-protective.
Topaz (called Earth Shakers), are usually the ones able to help model the best dens with their natural affinity with soil and rock. They are loyal and steadfast friends but have a tendency to be headstrong on decisions.

Spirit Class
This class's affinity is the manipulation of the spirit in such a way that they act as a conduit to enhance the natural abilities of the surrounding drachens. Their specialty is their ability to affect moods.
Amethyst-Rose (called Soul Singers), are usually cheerful in temperament and take childish delight in the small things in life. They are normally highly revered in drachen society because of their rarity and elemental affinity.
