The acara happens to be my owner's favorite neopet on the entire website, which is why my owner (whose name is also Sarah) created this page. I know it's a work in progress, but she'll add more soon!

What is an
?

Acaras are cat like and have bog ears and long horns that drape backwards like ponytails. They have big eyes and four legs. As a general rule Acaras are fantastic swimmers that are just as happy on land as they are underwater. Their thick fur keeps them warm when diving to the depths of the ocean.

When first introduced on the Neopets website on April 28, 2000, the acara was an otter-like Neopet called the Tigren. The name was changed on July 19 for reasons unknown, along with the Polypup's change to the Gelert. The news page of the time touted the change as "evolution", in keeping with the Pokemon-like feel that the pets originally had.

The acara is currently the 9th most popular pet.

How to get an acara

1. Create
The easiest way is to create one.

2. Adopt
Another way is to go to the Neopian Pound and adopt one. I think this is better than creating one because you can give a homeless acara a home!

*sniff* Will someone please adopt me?

3. Morphing Potions
Another, kinda expensive way is to give your pet a morphing potion. Here's a list of acara morphing potions that are currently available:

*NOTE* Remember that a different pet that's been morphed into an acara will not be counted in the official number of acaras.

4. Secret Laboratory

Another way to get an acara is to got to the Lab Ray. If you're lucky, your pet might get zaped into an acara! Plus there are some acara colors that are only available from the Lab Ray. Those colors are:

Ice, Jelly, Robot and Sponge.

*NOTE* Remember that a different pet that's been morphed into an acara will not be counted in the official number of acaras.

The Directory

To get your acara added, neomail Sarah saying you want to have your acara added. Don't forget to fill this out:

1) Pet's Name
2) Pet's nickname(optional)
3) Pet's paintbrush color
4) Pet's lookup URL(not petpage)

Dont forget to follow the rules:

1) None of these pets are for adoption unless the owner says otherwise
2) Do not beg or harass the owners for neopoints or items. Anyone harassing fellow neopians will be reported to TNT!
3) If you want your acara removed, just neomail Sarah.
4) If an acara's name is in bold text, this indicates it's one of my pets. If it's in italic text, this indicates it's an unconverted pet.
