Description: Ever since her village was destroyed in a wildfire, Tessalee has hated anything to do with the element. It was only a year later that she discovered that fire was, ironically, an element that she could control. When she revisited the ruins, she found evidence that she had caused the blaze, even though she could remember very little of what actually happened. Another year passed, and Tessalee has only just begun to let go...

Tessalee is almost fourteen. She is rather shy, and rarely uses her element unless she is angry. When she needs to burn something or cause a fire, she refuses to ignite it with her power, instead using the traditional method of striking flint and steel. Surprisingly, she is not bitter, instead focusing her mind on other things such as crafting. Her most prized possession is a necklace given to her by her mother when she was a child, woven out of different kinds grasses near her old home.

Zombies

A zombie can be defined as any type of magical creature who has lost a part of its soul (eg. elemental powers) and survived. Zombie sightings are a rare occurrence, since their bodies are very fragile and usually decay in a matter of days. Once becoming a zombie, a creature becomes extremely disoriented and forgetful, having already forgotten its own past entirely. They are practically harmless, as long as you don't surprise them. If you do you should be prepared, since their claws are remarkably sharp.

On the rare occasion that a zombie survives a whole week, its skin would toughen up and it would be able to live for several years without much decay. Who knows, perhaps there might even be hope of a cure...
