i'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly

Name:
Farah Beaumanoir

Age:
Sixteen

Appearance:
Farah has a slender yet curvy body type. Her skin is fair and has a bit of color. Her hair is a copper tone, with more red in it than brown. Farah's eyes are silver, her irises nearly blending in with the whites of her eyes. She has a small nose and thin lips. Her head is a bit of a heart shape, becoming more pointed at her chin.

Gender:
Female

Race:
Gifted

Powers:
The bending of darkness and light. Farah can make her own shadow disappear and reappear whenever she chooses, along with any darkness around her. She can't necessarily create light or darkness, but if it's there, she can bend it any way she wants. Light includes the range of lighting from a candle or lantern, but not the flame itself. Also, she can control lightning, but not without using an extreme amount of energy. As for darkness, Farah can control shadows; bend them around her to make her unseen around a corner or next to a wall.

Residence:
Caspar, within the palace in the center of the city.

it's hard to say that i'd rather stay awake when i'm asleep

Personality:
{+}Affectionate/Caring: Farah cares a lot about the people she knows and loves. When given the opportunity, she loves to show affection. She'll hold the hand of a friend or hug them in greeting or before departing. Most think it's a wonderful trait, but it's only shown to people very close to her. Farah isn't close to many people.

{+}Courageous/Brave: Farah isn't afraid of a challenge. Despite her seemingly innocent appearance, she knows what to do in an emergency and has great leadership skills. She can fight and will do so if necessary. However, she's never killed before, and she hopes that no day will come where she needs to do that.

{+}Faithful: Farah is a very faithful human being in both the gods and- at some times- herself. In times where she feels as if she'll break down, she crosses her hands and prays for help. It's one of the only things she feels she can turn to in time of need. Though this is sometimes frowned upon in Caspar, since the king is supposed to be the idol for all beings.

{+}Friendly: Farah is always open to making new friends. Her charming smile and bright attitude has helped her gain many in the past. She'll talk to anyone who approaches her, giving them another chance beyond a first impression to form a relationship.

{-}Self-Conscious/Insecure: Despite her ability to fight and have friends, Farah is very self conscious. It isn't just the fact that she doesn't realize her beauty, she also never thinks she can do anything right. Often, she'll try to do more than she can handle to impress others, and it will usually, for lack of a better term, "blow up in her face".

{-}Shy: Even though she's friendly, Farah is often shy, especially around those of the opposite gender. She's hardly ever the one to go up to someone else and start a conversation. She's more known for the rosy cheeks she acquires from getting embarrassed often or being approached by someone unknown to her. Farah can get very quiet when this happens.

{-}Clumsy: Most of the mishaps that cause Farah to blush are the times when her clumsiness occurs. Often, she'll be carrying too many things and stumble over her own feet. Some have said it's cute, but Farah just wishes she was more graceful.

Strengths:
Holding her tongue and remaining quiet when she should, knowing exactly what to say usually, thinking about what she says before she speaks. Farah's learned useful conversation skills while being- technically- employed by the king.

Weaknesses:
Her own emotions, keeping down her temper, refraining from crying, etc. Farah is very emotional, despite the given position she's in, which would normally call for someone who isn't easily provoked.

cause everything is never as it seems (when i fall asleep)

History:
Hello there, you must be new to my page, yes? Either that, or you have come here just to read all of the information my creator and I have written for you for a repeated time. In which case, I would be glad to tell you my history again. If you are new, then by all means, feel free to listen to where I came from, the story of my parents, how far I have come, etc.

My mother came to Caspar with my grandparents when she was a child and met my father there, where he had already lived with his parents and grandparents for as long as his parents could remember. In a sense, they grew up together- or knowing each other, at least- and ended up mxrrying when my mother was about fifteen. I came along two years later, after they were all settled in their own house. Most would be upset that a boy had not been born first, someone to carry the family name after his parents were gone. However, both of my parents- just to spite everyone else- stopped with me. I was an only child from then until today.

I grew up like a normal child in a big city, being taught by my parents how to read and write, rather than being sent off for an education somewhere else. They would always say they were selfish for wanting to occupy all of my time, rather than share me with the rest of the world. I would laugh and deny this of course; I still would.

When it would come to be Sunday, I was always allowed to go into the market place and buy whatever I wanted for dinner. We were not rich, but we did have plenty of money to support ourselves when I was growing up. Anyway, when I turned fifteen, it happened to be a Sunday on my birthday. So I was given extra money to buy something sweet for dessert. Of course I took my time in choosing what I wanted, not getting to buy something to satisfy my sweet tooth that often.

Of course, we never got to celebrate my birthday because- when I came home- our little house in the middle of the city was in flames. I am still devastated by the memory of it. I have no idea who / what caused it or how / when it happened, besides during the time I was at the market. I remember people gathering around to see the damage, and I remember not seeing my parents standing in the street watching the house. There was a window on the side of it that was still open and unblocked by flames. I climbed in, though I knew it was stupid to do so. But I had to try to save them if they were inside.

I was too late. I could see two blackened, burned figures, lying on the floor from where I stood. I remember both feeling and getting sick from the smell. So I ran out the window again, not knowing what to do or where to go and grief-stricken. That was when I was found and taken in by Angelica, an old woman who served at the palace in Caspar. So I became a servant there, stuck to obey the orders of King Decessus. However, the year after that seemed to fly by, and eventually the early morning chores that lasted throughout the day seemed to become routine. They did not bother me as much.

By the time I was sixteen, I was able to go out at night on my own, and was sent to get some supplies for the next day. On the way back, my life was threatened by none other than Allistar Markov, a vampire hybrid who nearly drained me of all of my blood. Of course, this did not happen; he even let me go, and I made it back to the palace safe and sound. That was not the end of it, however. He came to the palace himself the next day and got into a bit of trouble, having kxlled another servant and being hunted down by Angelica and the knights.

I ended up bringing him into my room and tending to the wounds. He stayed with me, and we grew closer. When we were discovered, I was punished with death, lashed with an enchanted whip that caused the wounds to gradually reach my neck, slicing it open and thus ending my life. Both Allistar and I had not known that- when the potion I had received from an apothecary in Caspar had not worked- I was actually alive the whole time, my body, life, and magic being regenerated from the liquid inside of the necklace I had chosen.

Thus, another year passed, and I was forced to find Allistar on my own to discover a changed man. I have probably suffered a broken heart several times over the past year, but we are together now. And for now, I am happy.
